"Now then I'm sure you all know what you want to become once you graduate however you will all be forced to take all courses for the first Term, which is a period of 3 months. Don't pull your faces like that, it's making your faces ugly. We are doing this for your own good. Say You wanted to become a Mage and you take all the mage courses but 2 years in you realize that you have zero talent for being one. How would you feel? Horrible! Therefore you Will take all courses so you know where your talents lie and you can switch to it after the term ends. End of discussion, now move to Ms Aebes class for magic theory class" the old man sat down after saying everything he wanted without giving a chance for questions as he was very familiar with how new cadets act.
His name was Emry, an old man with a thick beard and a no nonsense attitude and he was Ca'ens homeroom teacher for the term.
The noisy cadets made their way through the corridor showcasing their discomfort with the whole compulsory thing, to Ms Aebes classroom but strangely no student came within a 2m radius of Ca'en be it a conscious or unconscious action because there was something about him that made them feel uncomfortable.
It's like when a predator watches it's prey but doesn't put it in its eyes and those eyes that seemed so detached as if he was just an observer from a different plane yet they still wanted to be around him for reasons unknown to them.
Ca'en noticed this but he didn't put it in his eyes as he didn't care one bit about it.
Ca'en sat down in the second row from the last and was busy reminiscing about having to go through the whole process again when a feminine voice spoke, "What is magic? why does it exist and how do we use it?" a slim lady walked in. She wore a red rope, was voluptuous with a small waist and wore spectacle giving her a smart look. She wasn't wearing anything that would intentionally make her look alluring but she oozed of it naturally.
[Lv 40
Bloodline: Succubus]
'Hmm no wonder even I felt a bit jolted' Ca'en thought as the feeling of arousal was pressed down naturally by his body. All the other cadets be they male or female felt some kind of arousal causing the ladies to blush and the males to become restless with some even blatantly showing their lust on their faces without realizing it.
"Ah, yes sorry about that" she breathed rhythmically which caused the feelings of arousal to disappear but one would still feel it if they stared at her.
"Ms! Are you a succubus?" a student couldn't help but ask in a fluster.
"Yes, you could say that. I'm on third succubus as my great grandmother was one so I'm from the succubus bloodline" she answered without being bothered by it, she was clearly used to it.
"Now then, back to topic. Magic is a special form of energy that exists naturally in the world around us. It is in the air we Breath, the water we drink and the food we eat. No one knows where it came from with the church believing that the angels gifted it to mankind but no one truly evidence of it. We only know that it didn't exist in the dark ages and humans lived without it, magic only started appearing at the end of the dark Ages from records our ancestors left behind. We use magic in...." The lesson went on with Ca'en absorbing everything that was taught Silently, the lesson ended rather quicker than he expected only being about 20min short but the content delivered was concise and to the point.
She didn't delve deeply into it but Ca'en got the general gist of it.
There's magic in the air, use it however you want.
They went to magic application class next.
"Calm your mind and breath with rhythm. Sense the air around you and imagine a shape, normally giving it the shape of dots is the most efficient method..." This lesson went on a bit longer, reaching 40mins before ending a lesson that Ca'en found useless as he was already on a higher level. "Do not fret if you can't immediately sense it, different bodies sense it at different times. Now off you go."
Next were the Runic class and the Alchemy class where the teachers only gave them thick books to read and sat down. The cadets were all frowning except for Ca'en. Who's ability Chaos Will, kicked in throwing him into a state of extreme concentration causing everything else to be channeled out and finished reading the books almost as thick the Jewish Bible. They were The Beginners Guide To Talismans and The Beginners Guide To Alchemy.

"Well That last part is just a rip off ain't it!" Ca'en mumbled under his breath as he switched to his combat clothes. Mumbling is all he could do as he knew there was no changing it anyway. "Hurry up and choose your weapons!" A rough and tough middle aged man ordered.
There were racks with all kinds of practical weapons, swords of all kinds, gauntlets, whips, bows of all sorts even guns were present causing the cadets to feel confused.
"Idiots. Magic Swordsman is not only talking about Swords but All forms of weaponry. The key Word is Magic. It is just that swordsman find it easier to channel magic into the sword as the sword is almost like a fifth limp." The instructor explained irritability.
The kids went for swords as soon as he finished explaining, further irritating him.
"Idiots! Don't just go for the easy ones! try each weapon and stick with the one that feel right!" he was almost spitting at this point causing the cadets to halt and really start start considering it.
Most Stuck with the sword, few the gauntlet and whip and even fewer the bow but none touched the guns. As they were considered useless against demonic beasts unless you gained great skill where you could hit the beasts eyes or vital parts with pin point accuracy and buying stronger guns and bullets that could harm demonic beasts is like a behemoth that swallows your money like no ones business.
Gunners were considered weak so no one really liked them and very few chose that profession.
Ca'en was the last one and he started picking up weapons and and trying them out. His 'trying them out' actually caused the the space to distort whenever he swung the weapons causing the cadets to shiver and look at him with fear. Even the strongest of them couldn't withstand a single blow from him even the instructor started having cold sweat when he saw it.
'Monster!'
'Freak!'
These thoughts were shared by all, instructor included. He had only seen that kind of strength from 4 star Swordsman before!
Ca'en finally got to the guns and picked up a black hand held gun. It looked like a an upgraded version of the Barret M9 and weight about a 1kg yet this weight was nothing in his hands. He pointed at the test target 50m away and fired.
The gun was semi automatic and just let lose but was held in place by Ca'ens Anaconda like grip, he couldn't even feel the recoil as every shot hit the mark.
[Gained New Skill! Weapon Mastery Lv 1(Passive). Host has a basic understanding of weapons and will have ease when using them]
'Unexpected bonus hmm! It Seems fully focusing on a task gets me a skill eh?' he went back to the rack and picked out another one, a weapon similar to the SIG Sauer P226 but it weight around 10kg for some reason and felt quite good in his hands.
He pointed at the target again and fired. The bullets flew one following the other like a laser and created one neat whole with no other cuts almost as if a stationary laser tore through it.
[New Skill Gained! Sharpshooter Lv 1 (Passive). Accuracy increases when using projectile weapons]
In truth his Sharpshooter skill was currently not supposed to be that powerful but he had a high Dexterity, Strength and Intelligence which made it impossible for him to do anything less than the best not to forget the target was only 50m away while the guns effective range was 110m.
He reloaded the gun and went to stand with the other cadets only to notice the strange atmosphere.
"Are you sure you don't want to use a sword or any other weapon? We all know that you can shoot very well but guns are weak and bullets are expensive" the instructor explained.
Seeing that he was speaking out of good will, Ca'en smiled and answered "It is fine for now instructor, I'll change it if I feel it lacking. Thank you for the advice" The instructor wanted to further convince him but seeing as he already made his mind up and he said he would change if he didn't like it, caused the Instructor to shut up with an "OK then! let's move on to the field now."
The field was actually indoors but it was so big that it deserved to be called a field.
"OK come pick lots. Whoever has the same number as you is your opponent. You need to see at what level of combat you are and build up on that!" the cadets slowly went to pick lots some with anticipation while some were showcasing clear signs of anxiety. It seems they were not big fans of melee or pain.
Ca'en drew number 20 and just waited quietly for his turn. The cadets fought fiercely for their level to the point where some could even be considered blessed in close quarters but it was nothing worth mentioning in Ca'ens eyes.
It was finally Ca'ens turn as he took to the stage.
"I don't know why someone as strong as you decided to use a gun but I am confident that I'll be able to beat you if you are just using a gun so don't expect me to go easy on you!" said the youth. He was a bit lanky but Ca'en was able to see his well hidden muscles underneath the clothes
[Zenon Lv 25
Bloodline: Shadow Walker ]
"Hmm... If you say so" no wonder he was so confident.
'Hah, Not even the Genius Mage Felicia matches up to me! I could have been in the elite class but I purposely chose to stay here so I can write a zero to hero book and just wait as all the money comes in with various offers. Your physical strength is higher than mine but you chose a gun!" the youth sneered as he shot his short daggers and immediately vanished.
"This is my bloodline skill that allows me to blend in to the shadows of anything I choose! The moment you block the daggers, is the moment I beat you!" the youth thought with confidence as he was just an inch away.
The daggers hit Ca'en as the youth sprung out from the the shadow of one of the daggers and was about to hit him when he suddenly felt a shuddering pain assault the back of his head where it meets the neck and the sound of rubber bullets hit him.
"So that's the power of a bloodline hmm? Pretty neat" Ca'en answered as he ruthlessly and mechanical shot the same point until the clip emptied.
'How.... Wait! This bastard was seriously going to kill me!' This were the last thoughts that ran through the youths mind as the pain made him pass out. He may have been ambitious but this was just practice and he wasn't going about it with the intention of killing but this bastard...
Luckily they weren't using real bullets but substitutes that burst upon impact with the fluid within stimulating the pain of bullets piercing through the body.
"What happened?"
"I don't know, I didn't even see anything!"
"I just heard A Sweesh and then Bang Bangs and then thump and we're here!"
The cadets were all bewildered by everything, no one saw what happened except the instructor and even he was only able to see the start and the ending, he never saw when Ca'en moved behind the youth.
Luckily he had plenty experience and calmed after a while and announced, "The winner is Ca'en!" to which Ca'en merely nodded and went to stand next to the other cadets.
Everyone was looking at him with fright and a hint of reverence. The remaining matches were all dull due to the shock from his match.
Classes ended after Magic Engineering to which the teach never showed up and Ca'en slept through anyway and made his way to the library afterwards.
The library didn't have any books, just a lot of tables and chairs when he got there he was bewildered when he saw a young girl walk up to him with a white arm band on her left arm. "I am Diane, a library assistant. Is it your first time here?" she asked with a practiced smile.
"Yes it is. I don't see any books"
"That is normal, the books are all around, you just can't see them as they are in a pocket dimension. Please take a seat wherever you want to first" she politely explained as she gestured for him to sit.
'So that's what those black slit like things are... It seems my Void Eyes cannot see through another dimension' Ca'en took a seat in the first row and looked at the assistant.
"Now all you have to do is to think about the knowledge you want to access and your consciousness will be pulled into the dimension that houses that knowledge however there will be certain books or dimensions you won't be able to access if Your Spiritual power is not up to par with what you want to see. The dimension will kick you out ones your Spiritual power falls to less than 15% or else your soul might suffer backlash and you wouldn't want that now eh" she smiled and explained.
"Mm... Thank you" he politely replied and closed his eyes like everyone else. 'Hmm, what should I read? It should be Alchemy or Runes... I should start with Alchemy and move on to Runes and others if I have the time. Now I want to learn alchemy" Ca'en thought as he felt a tuck on his conscience body that he resist 'what the?' he was about to resist when a piece of his conscience broke off and entered a pocket dimension.
The dimension was even bigger than the hall with it being half as big as all the school buildings combined causing a rare gasp to escape from Ca'en.
"I'll start from the first book then" Ca'en decided after mulling over where to start.
The Beginner Theory Of Alchemy. Ca'en started reading and felt something leaving him.
[SPIRIT:9999/150 000]
"It seems a single book costs me a single point" Ca'en continued reading but he found out that he could still extend his pieces of his consciousness to other other dimensions so he did.
The Dimensions of Runes, Magical Engineering, Magic Archives and Martial Arts were his main focus after poking around.
He sat there for 6 hours straight and only returned to self after expending almost all of his Spiritual power causing him to look haggard as if he would drop dead at any moment and his natural complexion made it worse.
[Spirit: 100/10 000]
This meant that he read 9900 books in one sitting! Fortunately his hard work was paid off by the following sweet Notifications.

"Hehehehehehehehehe! Hahaha!" Ca'en laughed out loud sounding deranged causing everyone to look at him.
"Poor guy"
"Why didn't he stop when he felt his Spiritual Energy deplete?"
"I know right, now he won't be able to attend class for at least a month" this kinds of pitying gazes were being thrown at him but you couldn't really blame them for it.
People would enter a deranged, weak and disoriented state after their spiritual energy was drained pass what their souls could handle and this wasn't the first time they saw a cadet sitting pass their tolerance because they wanted to keep up or surpass others so they thought it was the same this time as Ca'en sat there more than 6 hours, something only 3 star beings could do.
While they were right about him running out of Spiritual Power, There was still 100 left which was equal to a 1 star beings Spiritual power.
He simply didn't pay them any attention, stood up and left.
❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄
"Hey what mission are you going to take?"
"I don't know yet, I'll probably take something like gathering Green Roses. it may be tedious but it's safe"
"I know right! Let's hurry up before all the easy tasks are taken" the group of 3 quickly hurried away to which Ca'en sneakily followed behind.
He was back to his room when he heard them so he decided that he might as well check it out and post out tasks for the things he'd need for refining potions and Talismans as well.
He arrived at a hall about 3 houses big with a lot of traffic flow with one side of the Task board having a lot of Cadets, it was clearly for the easy tasks but he didn't mind this and simply went to the reception.
"I'd like to post some tasks"
"What would you like to post cadet?" the middle aged lady asked.
"Red Flowers, Green Vines, Haywood Dust, blood of The Manganese Silver Tail and Moonlight essence. As much as possible" Ca'en spoke through almost droopy eyes causing the lady to frown.
"Sir -" she was about to berate Ca'en trying to look for trouble when she was cut off
"A million credits should do. The Limit is 7 days"
There was a Beep on the reception hologram showing a payment of 1million credits from his account but she never saw him do it. That's cause he send it from the system space, a coin represented a million dollars and he didn't know how to make it smaller so he just send a single coin considering that he could be thought of as a mini tycoon with his 100 000s now.
Ca'en was about to leave when a rude voice suddenly jolted him, "Hurry up and get out of the way, Commoner. I don't have the whole day to be breathing the same air as you!"
