Anonymous corpse number one

BOOM!

The doors were turned into splinters as broken wood flew from the factory entrance. A man dressed in all black made his way through the now empty space where the doors used to be.

He looked straight ahead to see a youth with his back rested against a wall and his dreads covering his closed eyes.

" Are you that rat I seek? The one who dares to utter mockery when hearing of my presence?"

A wicked smile became evident as he looked at the youth before him.

The Mouse opened his eyes slowly to see his now present visitor.

" I prefer to be called Mouse if you don't mind, and I tend to play better when a Sir is before it."

He looked on with a sense of comfort as a smirk could be seen. While presenting himself like a king looking at a commoner.

" I guess it's true what they say ' a newborn calf does not know the actual haunting presence of a lion' "

A chilling air seemed to have taken over the factory, and the elder took slow steps towards the youth.

" This calf does not like talking to people of unknown origins. How about a proper greeting, huh?"

The Mouse laughed as he looked at the seemingly serious elder in black. If looks could kill, he would be a dead man for sure.

" What use is it to give my name to the dead? Does a corpse require such things? Are you planning to give the devil my name in exchange for a breath of fresh air from the burning inferno?"

A laugh was heard through the factory as the elder spoke without caring for the youth who had finally stood.

" Funny... I could say the same but seeing that you already knew my name. I thought it only fair for you to let your killer know the name of his victim.

Or do you want to be known as Anonymous corpse number one in my records?

Guess I'm a stickler for correct records, huh."

A smirk grew on the Mouse's face as he saw a vein forming on the forehead of the elder in black.

In his mind, the elder fumed in rage. He would inflict such pain that a bath in lava would be but a blessing before refining this youth into a pill to help him achieve that elusive realm.

How could a lowly insignificant mortal dare talk to him like this? If others knew of this, he would be nothing but a disgrace if he were to return.

" Good....good, you have only ensured the most agonizing of death humanly possible, you little fuck.

Die in joy though as it is at least by these hands, you see your death, one that is more than worthy of your life."

He then walked calmly with his hands behind his back while the ground started to feel colder with each step. Then ice particles could be seen covering the surface of the nearby walls.

The temperature continued to drop, and the Mouse began feeling the effects and shivered.

" So this is the power of someone that cultivates. He is somehow controlling the particles in the air."

Taf had a serious look on his face when he looked at the man making his way over for the first time.

" Do you see now why you're deemed nothing but insignificant in my eyes? If I command it, you would be frozen into an ice sculpture. How can a mere ant pose a threat to a soaring dragon."

Mouse continued to shiver as he listened to this the elder speak.

" So this is your world Qi, I am guessing?"

He then asked, to the surprise of the elder in black.

"How... How do you know about world qi?"

The elder asked as he was taken off guard by the question.

" Guessing I am right by your reply. Do you know the history of this city you are currently visiting, anonymous corpse number one?"

Mouse asked the no longer aloof senior as he still shivered from the cold that had now surrounded him.

" Who cares about the insignificant history of this city?

It is filled with mortals that are of no use to us cultivators. Your only purpose in life is to be in service to us, the ones with power."

A response was heard as the temperature fell to a new low once more.

" Actually, you should be the one that cares as that lack of your knowledge has done nothing but ensure your imminent demise."

The elder felt something climbing and attaching itself to his feet that were black as oil and seemingly growing as it climbed.

" Wh- what the fuck is this thing?"

He screamed as he saw the scene playing out in front of him. This was the first time he had ever seen this organism.

" This is why you should know the history of the place you try to reign over. This city six hundred years ago played a pivotal part in the battle of two greats, The Dark Abylis sect and The Night lit Moon Sect."

A look of dread filled the face of the elder as a realization finally dawned on him.

" Th- the devouring black dust."

The eldered forced the words out as he looked on a mortal in fear and despair during his lifetime for the first time.

" So you do know some history after all. Uncaring of the elder's plight Taf then went into detail:

During that great battle, the Dark Abylis Sect found themselves on the losing end through most of the war.

Seeing that they were losing, they sought a means to turn the tide. Their prayers were answered when a young inventor from within the Sect had an ingenious idea.

Being in a dire situation, the Sect had no other choice but to try the plans of this genius young man. However, they had a problem with how the projects could be seen to fruition.

The genius plan was a concoction that would see the utter destruction of the nearby cultivators. So they had to develop a method that could rectify this default in the process.

The place became slightly warmer as the black organism spread over the black spawn's body, which turned pale in dismay.

"This is the beginning of the tale of why this city of seemingly insignificant mortals was given the name Marvel City."
