Issue 98: The Amazing Web Part 12

After several days of dealing with the press and politicians trying to shoehorn their way into the whole Africa situation and the various global issues, Peter finally managed to settle things with hundreds of Avenger and Shield Operations that brought in millions of criminals worldwide.

Those that owned prisons in America made a big stink about him robbing them of business, but he didn't care. They tried everything they could to get in his way, but with the public on his side, with the power of those backing him, they either shut up and coped with no longer having to deal with the worst of the worst and settled with crimes that can be forgiven or were investigated and arrested once those investigations turned up with solid evidence.

It took almost a full month for all his business to be settled. However, operations were still up and running. Branch facilities for the Avengers or those with affiliations and partnerships prospered as they started rooting out the world's cancers.

The heroes became scalpels that tore through the rotten wounds festering in many different nations. However, it wouldn't happen in just a month. Peter expected it to take years before humanity finally got their shit together, but for now, this was a good start.

Peter returned to his house more tired than the time he spared with Thor.

"Politicians, bureaucrats, dictators, they're all just power-hungry assholes," Peter flopped down on his couch and turned on the television.

He wrangled off his tie and felt MJ's hands reach over his shoulder and rested them on his chest.

"Tough day?"

"Oh, just the same old usual routine, you can't give Mars to the Meta-Humans, you should share all the planets you terraform, give us your tech, let us find some way to make money with your prison and exploit them instead of giving regular people jobs, introduce us to the new King of South Africa so we can plant spies to steal their tech. I swear, if this wasn't necessary to move forward peacefully, I'd sic Deadpool on them."

"Don't let him hear you say that," MJ hopped over the couch and sat beside him, "He'd never rest until they were all dead."

"How long do I have to keep this up? How long do I have to be the line in the sand?"

"You keep going until they finally get it through their thick skulls. My Tiger can't be caged. I just wondering how long until they start sending assassins and spies."

Peter showed her an image on his phone, "What makes you think they haven't already?"

She looked at the files of a bunch of captured people sent by politicians and mobsters.

"Why do you think I sent Kingpin to the big pin. He thought our parents were defenseless, hired some thug to try and attack him outside our district. They shot at him, he dodged, the bullet spray ended up hitting civilians, luckily, dad's a doctor and equipped with med-beds stored in spatial rings."

"How come we didn't hear about it in the news?"

"I had Samantha delete all footage so people wouldn't ask questions when Fisk went missing. He was the first prisoner, after all. I also made sure to send a message to anyone else that may target my family when I picked him up."

"Damn,"

"Yeah, I have plenty of patience and mercy for my enemies, but even I have limits. No one messes with my family."

"So, what do we do about them?"

Peter sighed, "Nothing, it's already taken care of. They're still sending spies, but our security can handle it. They haven't sent another assassin after their last few attempts."

"I'm guessing they're all sharing a prison with Kingpin?"

"Yeah," Peter looked at the clinging and closed his eyes for a bit.

MJ laid her head on his lap and watched T.V with him for a while, and before they knew it, they both fell asleep in each other's arms.

The next morning, Peter got up and went on patrol as per usual. All was pretty well in his life. The majority of his villains were working for him, humanity was getting ready to take to the stars, and he was about to start working on his newest project, the Ring Worlds.

While he was in the middle swinging to a skyscraper, Peter met up with MJ and the two landed next to each other.

"You got up early?"

"Yeah, had a lot on my mind," Peter smiled as he sat against the wall.

"You know, I've noticed that we're rarely needed these days," MJ stood on the ledge of the building.

"Other than some petty crimes, villains just haven't been popping up as much in our city. With all the new heroes getting training, our teams running full force, and the Avengers HQ being here, you'd have to be pretty dumb to start messing around in New York," Mary Jane jumped from the building and shot out a web line.

"I'll take that as a sign that we're doing a good job," Peter followed after.

He truly thought that, but he knew he still had to prepare. Monsters like Thanos, the corrupt Celestials, Eternals, and godly beings still posed a great threat to his world.

"Maybe I should check out other universes for new power ups," Peter thought as he swung low to the ground and heard cheers coming from his fellow New Yorkers.

He did a little flip trick as he waved at the crowd and shot into the air with incredible speed.

As he landed next to a flagpole on the side of a building, Peter pondered if he should use his new experimental X-Gene Serum.

"Nah, I'm not done tweaking it," He thought as he jumped off the building and webbed his way throughout the city.

When he caught up with Mary Jane, he saw her stopping a robbery. A group of men tried to escape the store and jumped in their car, but Peter webbed their vehicle to the ground seconds before MJ crashed through their windows and pulled them out.

"Now why are you running?" MJ asked as she tossed one of them into a bed of webs, "If you guys are scared of me, I know you all must have terrible taste in women."

Peter smirked as he watched them all being flung into the web and grabbed the stolen goods to return it to the shop owner.

"Thank you so much," The shopkeeper smiled as she took back a bag full of money and products, "How can I repay you?"

"Nothing needed, Mam," Peter shot out a webline.

"Are you sure? Wow, you guys are different than what I imagined,"

"They don't call us the friendly neighborhood couple for nothing," MJ said as she webbed off.

While they swung from building-to-building, Mary Jane caught up and said, "Hey! We still have to reward the others for helping with the whole Wakanda thing."

"Right, I send them their presents after patrolling," Peter nodded his head.

The day was quiet for the most part, just some random thugs and idiots who thought they could get away with crime in their city.

There were a few robberies, a mugging attempt, but nothing super villain related.

When it was time for work, Peter sent a clone to the school and went to his lab. More of his clones were there working on various projects. He quickly absorbed their memories and let them return to work while going to various areas to get everyone's presents.

"Let's see 1610 Miles…Kid likes music and art…a top-of-the-line hologram display and computer with a bunch of music from our universe should cover that. Richie is easy, I'll give him some web formulas that I've designed for various criminals, a book on basic Magic programing, popular books and movie scripts for Mary Jane, and Spider-Family Doll set for Annie."

He tapped his foot against the floor before making a two-ton block of pure gold, "I swear, if I hear Benji complain about money again after this…ugh…I'll also include some inventions to give him that sold well here and the same beginners magic programming book. For his MJ…hmm…what can I give a model…some popular clothing maybe, as for Annie, a bullet proof Spiderling suit ought to satisfy her."

Peter thought a little longer and smirked as he created a breakable object that would give Noir's world color. He figured it was a lot safer than letting him hunt down the Infinity Stones. He also provided a block of gold and schematics to help improve the technology of his world.

"Porkey, I don't even have to try, a lifetime supply of hotdogs should do and a list of all his villains' weaknesses."

Peter placed his hands out and channeled his newest Spell.

"First, connect the web…then find the universe…and now to open a one-way portal."

In the various universes, portals opened up next to the individual before the presents all dropped at the feet or houses of all the other Spiders.

Protection Spells were formed around the wrapped gift boxes so that they could only be seen and interact with their intended recipient.

Once that was done, Peter returned to his work and started planning various methods to improve his power further.

"Well, I guess I could start by seeing where fate leads me," Peter sat crossed legged and focused on finding a universe that needed his help and could supply him with a new way to strengthen himself.

After a few hours of searching, Peter found himself a few that fit the bill. However, there was one with big issue. The world was in such a precarious situation that when he tried to sense what was happening, his Spider-Senses went crazy.

He screamed in agony as he gripped his head and nearly fainted from the pain. It was far worse than when he sensed Spot messing with the Multiverse. Far greater than anything he's ever felt before.

"A corrupt Celestial? Jesus Christ…while Celestial Technology would be of great help to me, messing with that thing in my current state is suicide. However…damn their world is certainly in the most danger."

Peter sighed as he thought of what he could do to help.

"The only thing I can think of is the Necrosword…Maybe I can make my own weapon from Celestial remains."

He continued to ponder how he'd solve this issue while walking towards his Genetic Enhancement Lab.

He stood in front of a serum container with an infinity marking on it.

"I just need to think of a good medium for it and it should be done,"

After running a few experiments, Peter added a few things to the Serum and called it a day. "I need to complete this before he headed off to the more dangerous universes."

He walked to his tech lab and worked for a few hours on his most recent project, the World Forge. If he completed this, humanity would be able to create planets with just the power of technology alone. Of course, the Alchemy and Magitech World Forge is far superior in all aspects, but he wanted Mankind to stand on their own two feet for when they finally go forward into the stars.

Another few hours passed by quickly, and while he worked, Peter constantly thought about what he needed to do to make a weapon rivaling the All-Black Sword.

"What should I call it…I'll figure that out later. For now, I need an intact Celestial Body… Should I kill Galactus? Is he even a Celestial? I know that he's capable of killing a few, and I don't even need to kill my universe's Galactus, I can find an extremely weakened version somewhere out there in the Multiverse. Well...since he's a celestial-like being that's capable of killing Celestials, he might even make a better weapon."

Peter finished up his ten hours and headed back to earth while thinking of various ways to make a good weapon.

He was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he went to bed still thinking of what he should make and dreamed about it.
