"how did we get pulled into this? Daniel asked as the plane touched down. "seriously, I did not want to go to Japan." Sam looked up from the reading he needed for school, " I thought your parents sent you to get some experience with the language and visit some business partners?'

"Well, yes, but no offense, but something is bound to happen since you are here as well." Sam shrugged. That was true," I'm glad you realize that." he turned back to his book, reading it while the plane pulled into the port connection.

They remained seated as the rest of the passengers disembarked. They couldn't get caught in the crowd. Not with Tyrone with them. That was just asking for a panic attack. Once it was empty enough, they began moving, grabbing their carry-on bags.

"Well, things don't seem to be so far?" Daniel asked, looking at the signs as he tried to find his way to the luggage pick-up. "I know I've not studied this too much, but I thought I wouldn't struggle too much." Sam was already walking off, and Tyrone clung to the raven's shirt. Sighing, Daniel just decided to follow his friend, who led the group toward the luggage into customs and headed out to pick it up.

"So is your friend here, or-" Natale stopped when Sam pointed to the large sign. "Okay, what is that?" On the sign was a symbol. Three colors swirled together, each color describing a different creature. It took Daniel a moment to realize they were describing a demon, a ghost, and a witch.

"I'm so glad they used the making instead of that name they gave me," in response to the statement, Tyrone mumbled, asking what name? as Sam led the way over. Quickly conversing with the people, confirming they were the group's ride and there was enough room. " they seemed quite certain they would have enough room," Sam explained to his mother as the group walked out.

"oh, that is why," his dad mumbled, looking at the high-end hover limo. Sam pinched the bridge of his nose, holding his face in his hands. "at least I know business went well." he thought as they walked and climbed it. Daniel immediately investigated the friend. "there not a drop of alcohol in here?"

"you too young to drink!" Nathal commented. Daniel agreed. "but this is clearly an attempt to impress. People usually use expensive things. Like expensive drinks, there is apple juice and cake. High-end, mind you, but not a drop of alcohol."

"my distaste of alcohol is pretty well known with this guy."

"by the gods, you threw him through something, didn't you." Sam opened his mouth, clicking his teeth for a moment, "You're close." Tyrone looked over before turning back, deciding it didn't really matter if they knew or not. "did you apologize?" was the only thing Natale asked; Sam said he did.

"Right then," his father three creaked over open one of the mochi packages. "oh, these are good," he stuffed an entire one in his mouth. Sam laughed before looking out the window. Watching the city pass by, some vague memory of what it was like serval years ago.

'not much has changed; okay, that building is new. So's the tree.' But some things hadn't changed in maybe fifty years, over a hundred? Sighing, he listened to the world, sharing the people's talk. His friends and family, the people on the street. An angry ghost that was shouting at him, summmoning a drop of his ghosty tears, he flicked it at the ghost. Causing some of his rages to dissipate.

'oh,' he thought, seeing the ghost. 'that's a yokai,' been a while since he's seen one of those. 'then it has again been a while since I've been in Japan or the surrounding area.' yokai were both territorial, so they tend to stay on there lands.

The difference between ghost and yokai was interesting, as both were a general term. Ghosts described the souls of passed-on creatures. Yokai was a more extensive term as it included ghosts, spiritual beings, demons, and abnormal creatures.

The point is that he that this was because his ability had an effect on Yokai. Good and bad; for example, his ghost powers were extra effective on certain spectral yokai. Some had resistance to it; he knew some yokai that straight out ate his power.

Clicking his tongue, Sam wondered where this information was coming from." how much did I interact with Yokai?" he knew there had to be some interaction, but how much? Was he going to run into some enemies?

"we're here, trio beast-sama." Sam blinked at the translation, sighing. He returned the boy as they all climbed out of the car. " ohh?" Tyrone hummed, looking," This is a nice place." Sam nodded before walking up to the house, the door being opened for him. Taking his shoes off, he continues walling.

Until he reached a wall of pictures, "oh yeah, I had a braid then." he looked at the picture that he hadn't really been that interested in taking, but it had meant something to the guy. Now, it meant something to Sam, for his empathy has increased over the years.

"nice hair?" Daniel muttered, looking at the picture." I didn't know you'd wear your hair that long." his mother commented, a spark in her eyes that he immediately shut down," even in a braid, it got into the way of combat?"

"Still, it looks nice," the fashion designer commented," also, you're shapeshifted; you can grow and shrink your hair at will." that was true, and Tyrone decided to add his own words. Looking at the people in the hall with them." doesn't your hair grow when you use the witch power."

"that is also true, but I always cast a spell to protect my hair from getting grabbed." plus, anyone that did was going to get their ass violently dragged.

"This is a conversation or later," Sam cut in before turning down the hall. Into a sitting room, taking a seat, he looked dead at the suited man., 'definitely a descendant.' looking too much like his old friend to be otherwise.

'let's not think about that now.' let's not think about how much time has passed, how many events he missed in his friend's life. He wasn't there for any of it to this guy before him. Who could have possibly been a close family friend was nothing but a stranger. Someone his ancestor might have talked about.

"sam-sam-" Sam cut him off with a raise of his hand, "you don't need to refer to me like that. I'm rarely referred to in such ways, plus it makes me deeply uncomfortable." the man nodded," Well. Sam-san. I understand you're here about your stack in my family company?"

"yes, but let's make this clear. I have no interest in harming said company." tilting his head, he paused," as long as you operate within some reasonable framework." swallowing abit as Sam's malice started leaking into the air, he asked what parameters.

"Oh, nothing much; I have a strong hatred for those who chase profit at the cost of everything. There a special place in hell for those kinds; I've sent a few dozen there myself." even when he wasn't a fan of people, he still wouldn't put up with that shit.

"Haha, well, that's not a problem for my family." clearing his throat, he passed over a hologram projection tablet," This is the current stats of your stack in my family company." grabbing it, he turned the tablet around, he spent a few moments looking through it. "okay, I see, this is some much more than the pounds of gems I gave the man."

"you gave him gems?" Tyrone whispered," Sam nodded. "Precious minerals and gems travel well, wanted everywhere in the world. So it wasn't trouble getting money...did I steal those gems?"

"oh heavens, please, no?" the man mumbled; he did not want a scandal. "probably not," Sam said, trying to be reassuring," If he sold them legally, someone probably would have noticed." it seemed to work until Daniel opened his mouth. " what if he sold them ille- oof!"

Putting his arm back to his side, Sam started asking about the things he had in storage. Mostly the weapons. He found a lot of cool enchanted weapons here after confirming the locations of the storage vault. Sam started talking about the money he had in their company.

He wasn't going to move all of it. 99% of it was circling around the company and economy. So he couldn't pull it out, "is my money really doing that much for people?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. The man nodded, and Sam smiled wide. "good, it was a great idea to trust you, ancestor then."

They talked about the money, Sam getting details about where the money was. How it ended up there, and what it was doing there before the group headed off to a hotel. One that didn't serve alcohol in any form," Man, these people are through."

"so what's the next step?" Natale asked; Sam scratched the back of his head in thought for a moment. "prepare my stuff to be transferred over the ocean, maybe some sightseeing. Definitely going visit the graves of my friends." licking his lips, he hesitated.

"probably try to track down some memories. Even though it's likely I'll find some enemies I probably made within the Yokai community."

"Oh, come on, it wouldn't be that bad." she was trying to be an optimistic mother.

Serval miles away, though," What do you mean that beast is back in the country! Call the kappa. Call the kitstune, call the fucking train station cat! This is an emergency! Call every fucking one!"

The next mourning, Sam was stretching in the light of the rising sun. At the same time, eating some familiar mochi, 'this might be an overkill amount." it was taller than him; well, he could probably eat it all. He'd eaten a larger amount, but that didn't erase the chance of getting stomach aches or getting sick.

There was even the chance of him getting sick of the taste, which he refused. he liked the mochi too much to get sick of them, so after stretching, he stopped eating them so he could have breakfast. 'It times like this I wish I could get truly full.' the sweets were whispering to him; he left the room before his stomach and tongue led him astray.

"stepping outside, he found his noise leading himself where else. "out to a courtyard where he," red moon cherry blossoms and gem pink cheery blossoms." it had been so long since he'd been under these trees. They bloomed longer than normal cherry blossoms. Their petals were quite special, if he remembered.

"Now, was that because they were editable? How pretty they are? Or magical reasons?" picking a petal out of the air, he placed it into his mouth. Chewing on its flavor and texture for a moment. " like eating rocks again," the worker walking past him carrying a load of laundry paused, turning to face him, before deciding that was not what he was getting paid for.

"Man, I hate that bitch," she really had him eating rocks. "Well, back to suppressing that," pulling another kind of petal from the air, he sampled it." this one tastes sweet. Faintly like that of moon magic treats."

"both pretty and magical, and one is tasty. I think I saw it on the menu. Smiling to himself, Sam headed back inside, looking for a menu to sample those treats. Only one of each,' Remember Sam growing new teeth sucks like eating rocks.' he thought he was depressing that.

'my lord, I can't let you just push that down. Also, those treats contain a minimal amount of moon energy in them; it's interesting with your ability.' Sam nodded, remembering how too much moon energy affects his ability. Rolling his shoulder, he opened his mouth,' No, my lord, you can't continue to try and suppress these bad memories. It's is the tactic that leads to you erasing your memory.'

"that no-"

'it is, even now you're reaching for your head." he ripped the hand away. placing it on the table, and forced it to stay there." look, I'm fine," The helper didn't believe that for a moment and took a long period just lecturing him.

Sam couldn't find a real argument against the helper cause they were right. he wanted to ignore something so much that he tried to wipe his own memory. Sighing, he lay on the table for a moment before pushing food into his mouth, "Oh, that's a kick."

"let's go see how everyone else is doing," walking over he found them all still sleeping off some jetlag." Man, I'm glad that doesn't work on me so much after fixing Tyron's and his mother's blankets." he decided to leave them be." let's see I can find some familiar sights." putting on his shoes he left the inn.

He just let his feet carry him for a few minutes, letting the noise and sights of the bustling city flow around him. Nothing really sparked any memories. But the was definitely seeing some curiosity.

"you!" turning, Sam saw this frial old woman with a bat." You're that brat who broke my mother's shin and shop." Sam blinked, trying to think if he remembered this while she charged at him with a bat. Catching the metal bat before it could reach his face, he grabbed it and looked her in the face. Mental taking off years, "mmm."

"Oh, I remember you,' her hair had been a light black. he backhanded her." I bork her shines after you tried to mug me, you little thug." grabbing the bat and snapped it over his knee. "you're still the thug from all those years ago."

Only to meet with a line of men and women in suits," she got back up!" they started pulling out a gun, and Sam started smiling." how nice of you to be my mourning workout!"

Yawning, Natale stretched out, turning on the news, looking for the weather. Instead, he got a new report of Sam going against a Yazka group." oh, come on!" making a run for his pants and weapon, he raced out of the room.

Stopping, he turned around to wake everyone else up. They couldn't leave Tyrone here by himself. It was a miracle and force of a while that got him to come along in the first place. "I knew this wasn't going to be a boring vacation."
