Chapter 4

The next morning.

Aaron was making himself breakfast as he looked out the window.

(C'mon, this won't even be a challenge.)

"That's not the point. This is a training exercise, we're supposed to be helping them improve."

(You're no fun, hmph.)

As the conversation between the two ended, the sounds of the Ian's waking up began to emanate from their room. Punctuated by arguing between the two, they eventually made their way to the kitchen.

"Alright, you two remember what we agreed, right."

""We will actively train with you because we need to work harder to bring up our performance. And you will stop punishing us for blowing up the dorm.""

In the two weeks since school had started the Ian's had managed to destroy the dorm six times while arguing.

Aaron had managed to stop them before they spread to their neighbors. However, they always started fighting. To stop them, Aaron took their manga, locked it up, and hid it away.

After that, the two of them began to behave themselves more. While they still fought, they didn't break as much stuff. Aaron sighed a he thought about how this could all be avoided if they just didn't argue with each other.

"Remember, if you start fighting again, I am going to take everything away again, alright?"

""Yes.""

Aaron finished off his breakfast and led the Ian's out of the dorms and to the training center. Due to the power of fractured abilities and magic, specialised training center were necessary to handle the simulated combat training between teams and individuals.

After they got changed, they entered the training room. Aaron set the situation of the room to no augments.

"Alright, we'll start out easy. Both of you come at me, feel free to use your fractured abilities."

The Ian's looked at each other, slightly nervous. Although they had no combat training, they could seriously harm somebody with the amount of electricity they can discharge.

"Stop worrying, I'm not that fragile."

Aaron declared with a grin as he took a stance. The Ian's reluctantly fixed their posture as they prepared to attack Aaron.

(Self important little twats, they think that their oh so powerful.)

"Shush, it can wait for later."

Aaron muttered to himself as Blazer and Sailor rushed at him. Blazer took the lead as he stretched hi rights hand out, electricity flickering from his arm. Aaron shifted his body, deflecting Blazer's arm with his left wrist and striking Blazer in the gut with his right fist.

"Gaah!"

Blazer stumbled back as he grabbed his stomach. Sailor rushed to Aaron's left as he stretched his hands out, the electricity that he had gathered barely maintaining the shape of an orb as he released it at Aaron. Seeing the bolt strike Aaron Sailor let out a sigh of relief and closed his eyes for a moment.

"You need to pay more attention."

Aaron's voice resounded in Sailor's ears as he snapped his eyes open to see Aaron's leg approaching his face. The next second Aaron's foot struck him, and he was sent sprawling.

Aaron then dashed back to Blazer and knocked him off his feet with a low sweep. As the Ian's lay on the ground groaning Aaron crossed his arms and waited patiently for the two of them to pull themselves together.

"Now then, are you guys going to take this seriously, or am I going to be knocking you on your ass all day."

The Ian's exchanged a glare at each other before they got up and took a stance. Electricity began emanating from them, covering them completely in electricity. Aaron smiled in response and takes a stance of his own, while muttering under his breath.

"Insulate, strengthen, reinforce."

Aaron's body glows faintly as veins of light cover his body. Giving no time for the Ian's to think Aaron rushed straight at them. Blazer took up a defensive stance as Sailor stood behind him.

Blazer took a defensive stance, preparing to receive Aaron's blow. Aaron chuckled lightly to himself as he punched Ian. Ian blocked with both his arms. Despite this Aaron's blow knocked Blazer backwards. At the same time Sailor discharged several bolts of electricity at Aaron. Aaron grabbed Blazer who was regaining his balance and threw him at Sailor.

Most of the bolts were absorbed by Blazer and Aaron used that opening to rush at Sailor. Sailor clicked his tongue and backed away while discharging a field of electricity. Aaron pushed through the field and kicked Sailor in the stomach.

As the two regained their posture Aaron started lecturing them.

"Nice idea. I don't possess any long-range magic, so I need to come into physical contact to harm you. So, if you cover your body in electricity then you will electrocute me when I attack you. Unfortunately, you have to consider that I have defensive magic to deal with electricity."

Aaron smiled to himself as the two were finally putting some thought into their tactics, though not as much as Aaron would ideally prefer, he can't be to greedy.

The Ian's groan together as they have the same opinion for once.

""It's weird that you have such a specific magic.""

The two of them muttered under their breath. Most people would never develop such a specific ability as it would be useless for literally any other situation. However, Aaron sighed and shook his head with a disappointed look.

"If you guys go with that sort of mindset than you won't get very far. This is just some simple body reinforcement magic. Imagine what would happen if you ran had to fight and endless corrosive poison fractured ability, or maybe an endless barrage of meteors."

""That's not even human anymore!""

The two Ian's shouted at Aaron who had unbelievable expectations for the two of them.

"Well then, you better stop being human."

Aaron replied with a joyful smile as the light from his reinforcement magic grew brighter. At that moment both Ian's trembled nervously at the thought of what the future held in store for them.

Later in the day in the middle of the afternoon, Aaron and the Ian's were making their way back to their dorms. Aaron was wiping the sweat from his forehead with a satisfied smile on his face. The Ian's on the other hand looked like they were half dead, the stupidly complex layout of the school only adding to their fatigue.

(Do you really have that much expectations for them?)

Back in the dorm, Aaron was having a mental conversation. Aaron yawned as he laid down on his bed.

"We'll, they do have a fair bit of potential. With the right guidance they could become quite the capable fighter."

(And the real reason?)

"If they're completely wiped out from training then they won't have the energy to argue. Hence, I can finally put an end to their collateral damage."

Aaron smiled to himself as he thought that he had finally put an end to all his problems. However, he has the faintest feeling that things were only going to get more troublesome.
