Mission Complete

Mark thought that were the temples were Ventus, but his mission hadn't been completed, so there must be something else he needed to do. Standing around doing nothing wouldn't get him anywhere, so he decided to head towards one of the temples.

To reach the inner part of the center temple he would have to walk up the set of stairs leading to a hole in the shape of a rectangle at the top of the temple. Since he was on the ground now, he couldn't see inside of the temple, only that there was an entrance. Mark began walking toward the center temple, which was also the biggest, with Amelia strapped to his back looking around at the temples. It was difficult for her to see, because she had to turn her head around and look over Mark's shoulder, but she still managed.

As he was walking up the stairs, he began to look around at the other temples with Amelia. Upon counting, he could find eleven smaller temples surrounding the bigger one. Based on the way they were organized, he assumed that there were three more behind the temple that he couldn't see.

The stairs were quickly put behind him, as all together they only reached the height of about fifty meters, and inside he only saw one person. That person had tanned skin, wore a set of cyan colored robes, and had hair reaching his midriff. The man was currently sitting in a lotus position in the middle of the floor.

Mark walked a little closer to the man. He was still ten meters away from the man, and about five meters away from the stairs. He would normally stay even farther away from people, but Amelia nudged him forward. Otherwise, Mark would stay as far away as he could.

Even after walking closer to the man, the man's eyes stayed closed, as they had been the entire time. Mark didn't say anything and just continued to look at the man, so Amelia spoke up for him.

"Hello there, is this Ventus?" She asked the man.

The man in question opened his eyes and looked toward Mark.

His face looked slightly confused as he asked, "Where's the other person that spoke?"

Mark didn't say anything to his question, but instead turned around for him to see Amelia.

Amelia asked the man again, "Can you tell us where Ventus is?"

The man's face changed from confused to that of an empathetic one when he saw the lower half of Amelia missing. He pointed up after a moment of silence and said, "Above us."

"That's strange, we didn't see anything above here while we were coming up," Amelia said. She then continued, "How do we get there?"

"You have to take a test," the man explained.

"I thought anyone could go there," spoke Amelia. From all the knowledge she had gathered about Heaven's Wind, everybody should be allowed into its capital.

"That's correct. Everyone can go there, after they take the test," responded the man.

Amelia didn't see the need to argue with the man if they could go to Heaven's Wind so long as they took the test.

"So what test do we take?" spoke Amelia after she whispered to Mark about what they should do.

"You can just stand there. Using this temple diagram around us, I will judge your sins and virtues. If the aura around you is too dark, then you will not be able to enter the middle section of Ventus, and to enter the inner section, you must have a bright aura," the man explained how the test would work.

"Ok then, can you start it now then?" said Amelia.

The man nodded. Lines that shined with bright light started spreading with the man as the center. They stretched all across the floor and headed down the stairs. From outside Amelia and Mark could see lines come out of the other temples and connect with each other. When all of the lined connected, It formed some type of diagram. Next to each temple, there was some type of symbol that represented a sin or virtue made out of the lines of light.

Both Amelia and Mark started to look around themselves and each others to see the aura that the man had said would appear. Mark's aura started to show first, and then Amelia's. Their aura would fluctuate between slightly bright, brighter, neutral, and slightly dark. After their aura stopped fluctuating, both Mark's and Amelia's aura were just slightly bright.

"You are both given entrance to the inner part of Ventus, but beware. Should either of you change to lean more toward sin, then your access to the inner part will be revoked. Goodbye now," the man warned. They didn't have the chance to ask the man anymore questions, not that they needed to, for they were teleported away.

"Thank you Amelia."

"What for?" Amelia, asked back to Mark.

"For talking. You handled all of It, so I was thanking you for that. Talking to other people is uncomfortable to me, so that was I'm happy to have you with me," Mark answered her.

Amelia smiled at Mark's answer, but Mark couldn't see it. She was happy to lessen his burden.

"What will you do now?" She asked Mark.

"I didn't have anything planned originally, but I do now," Mark said, "I will gather information and money."

"Both of those things are important for many things, but what do you have in mind?"

"I need information on how to heal limbs, and I may need money for one of those methods or to gather information on it," explained Mark.

Mark looked around and saw that he was inside a room with a diagram on it, so he decided to check on his rewards and data.
