The price for the potion to heal limbs could be anywhere from one hundred to one thousand grade 2 Mana stones, or ten to one hundred grade 3 Mana stones. Each of Mark's potions where being sold for one grade 2 Mana stone. That meant he had to sell at least one hundred potions, but he would probably need to sell more than that.
The first thing Amelia needed to do was get someone to try the sample to see if they wanted to buy potions from them. Once someone tried the sample and verified that it worked, more people would try their potion if it was good. Her job was easier than normal because there were so many people around them, and she had better potions than normal.
"Come try our potion! With our Calming potion, you can forget about any stress you have. This potion can even help you concentrate! Using this potion we can guarantee that learning and practicing spells will be easier than ever!!!" Amelia yelled to get as many people's attention as possible.
"If you use both our Calming potion and Mana Gathering potion at the same time then you could even gather Mana twice as quickly!"
"Take this potion before a fight and you'll be able to crush the other person beneath your feet!" Amelia's advertising was with great vigor. Many people came over when they heard her advertising. It sounded too good to be true and she looked cute, so someone walked up to their stand.
"May I try a sample to test its effects?"
"Yes, which one do you want to try?"
"The Mana Gathering one. I just got back from a battle and I haven't had a chance to regain my Mana, so I'll try your potion to see if it actually works," the person, a tall and burly male, picked up the sample and gulped it down.
Gathering Mana wasn't instantaneous, so the man stepped off to the side to start meditating. Most people below the third rank could take up to several minutes to start meditating, but the burly man seemed to be a seasoned expert in the field.
Nobody could see the man gathering Mana, unless they had a special power like Mark, so they just waited for the man to tell them how it was.
Several moments passed, but the man didn't stop meditating. Some of the crowd were getting impatient, so they just left. The man continued to meditate, leaving only those patient enough to wait a few minutes.
The man finally opened his eyes and immediately went up the Amelia's stand.
"How much are you selling these potions for?" He asked.
"They each go for one grade 2 Mana stone," Amelia answered.
"Will you take ten grade 1 Mana stones for a potion? I don't have enough grade 2 Mana stones on me," said the man, slightly disappointed in his lack of money.
"Yes, that will do. How many do you want?" Amelia asked back.
"Hold on a sec," said the man as he rummaged through a pouch on his waist, "Here you are. There are three grade 2 Mana stones and twenty grade 1 Mana stones. I would like two Mana Gathering potions, two Calming potions, and one Minimum Healing potion."
"Are you sure? You didn't even test the other potions," rung Amelia's voice with some confusion.
"Yes, I am absolutely sure. With how great the effects of just the sample for the Mana Gathering potion were, I don't believe the others could be bad. Plus I was injured during that fight as well," spoke the man as he lifted up the pant leg of his left leg, revealing a long gash going down it.
"Ok, here you are then. Since you are our first customer, I'll give you an extra healing potion," said Amelia with a beaming smile. She was glad to be working together with Mark to earn a way to heal her legs.
The man was stunned for a moment before thanking Amelia and leaving to go to a more private place where he could heal and meditate in peace. Of course, not before spreading the news of how just the sample doubled his Mana gathering speed for three minutes
Now the crowd that was left wasn't sure whether they should believe him or not. Twice the Mana gathering speed wasn't overpowered by any means, but it could still change whether someone lived in a dire situation or not. Most people around the second grade could take up to two hours to regain all of their Mana, but with that potion it would be halved. They wouldn't be ambushed nearly as much if they spent half the time they normally would staying in one spot to meditate, after all not everybody had enough Will to meditate while moving.
If they spent less time meditating, then they would have more time to hunt. This meant that it not only provided them more safety outside because they wouldn't have to stay in one spot as long, but it also allowed them to earn more money.
Rushing to their stall, another person, this time a female, asked, "Can I try a sample as well?"
"Sorry, there is only one sample for each potion," Amelia responded.
"Then let me try the Calming potion," said the woman.
"Ok then," Amelia passed the lady the sample.
The Mana Gathering potion was the easiest to test as one didn't need to be injured to test it and it didn't require anything.
For the Calming potion one would have to have a purpose for using it. Otherwise the person would normally only feel slightly more calm, but nothing else. There wasn't much purpose in a potion like that, in the lady's opinion, but at least it would give her insight into how good the potions quality was.
This lady was also kind enough to take the potion in front of the stall, in order to help advertise their business. She took the potion, but nothing amazing seemed to happen. That was what the crowd thought until they saw the lady walking around and yelling, "Amazing, simple amazing!"
"What is she screaming around for, it's just a Calming potion," one of the members of the crowd said.
Another spoke to him, "Why don't you ask her?"
The person did just that. "Hey lady, what are you screaming for?"
"Th-This potion! Can you tell what I'm doing right now? I'm meditating! That's right I'm capable of meditating while talking and walking at the same time!" The lady exclaimed in joy. She left everyone in a daze from what she said, and while they were dazed she was already ordering potions.
"Thank you for your purchase," said Amelia. The lady had already walked away with three Calming potions and a Mana Gathering potion before the crowd had left their dazed state.
It wasn't unusual to have these kinds of effects in a potion. In fact, it was quite normal, if they were more expensive. Temporarily doubling the Mana gathering speed for only one grade 2 Mana stone was already a steal, but being able to multitask meditating and other things at the same time for just one grade 2 Mana stone was cheap. Unbelievable cheap!
On the open market, a potion for the same effect would sell for a minimum of five grade 2 Mana stones. But right here in front of them it was being sold for only one. If they didn't get these potions now while they were cheap, they would probably be rolling around in their bed with regret for the next month.
The first person out of their daze rushed to the stand and demanded, "Here. Here! I'll buy two potions, one Calming and the other Mana Gathering."
"Me too! I only have enough for one potion, but I'll have enough for more in the future, so can you loan me some?"
"Get out of here! I'll pay upfront, don't believe this guy!"
"I would like to buy some as well…"
....
In a short few minutes their stock of potions was empty. The rest of the people could only go away, lamenting that they didn't shove the person in front of them hard enough.
Amelia shared the news with Mark, as he had been too concentrated on meditating.
"Your going to have to get started making more potion," She said with a giggle.
"Making that many potions took me two days, so I'll only be able to make ten of each a day," Mark replied.
"Don't make ten of each. Only make five of the Minimum Healing potions. That way you can make fifteen Calming potions. The Calming potions sold the best, so you should focus more on them. Also, we should up the price to two Grade 2 Mana stones," advised Amelia.
"As you say. You can be the one to manage the business, I'll just listen to your instructions. At this rate we should be able to buy the potion needed to heal your legs with money to spare," said Mark.
"That's good…" Amelia said before trailing off. She was happy that she would be able to get her legs back… but she felt like she would also lose something.
