The Demons Prepare

Tonight is a normal night. Well, to the humans at least.

But this night is much more important than they know.

But how would they know? The planets are not aligning and the stars aren't forming patterns. Nothing cosmic is exploding or dying.

To the humans, it is just a comet.

But the comet will throw into motion a series of events that will change reality in the multiverse forever.

But the humans couldn't possibly expect what is to come. It is too far out of their expectations.

Humans hope for greatness, but never expect it. They often do not even realize how great they can be until greatness falls into their lap.

Things are changing, and they will not realize until it is too late.

...

In an ancient tomb, undiscovered by humans, an ever-faithful servant awakens slowly, sleepiness blurring their eyesight.

"Yaaaaaawn."

If any man were to see this sight, they would no doubt become bewitched by this adorable action from this breathtakingly beautiful woman.

They wouldn't even notice that she isn't human.

Silky silver hair, a face so beautiful that it could drive an entire world to war, with red eyes and soft lips that even the purest of monks would fantasize of kissing.

Skin befitting a goddess, smooth, soft, and supple. Huge, exquisite breasts that could drive a man insane with the slightest of glimpses. However, she dresses modestly in a loose silver robe that hides her figure, as though to make the sight of her naked skin more precious than it already is.

A pair of silver bat-like membranous wings adorned with scales in a mysterious pattern and a reptilian tail with a similar aesthetic would set her apart from a mere human for those not already charmed by her other features.

No one would suspect that this beautiful woman was the greatly feared Archdemon Lilith who is second only to those she serves.

"Good morning, milady." A figure of a man in a suit with wings and a tail greeted Lilith.

"Good morning, Sebastian." Lilith was rubbing the sleep from her eyes, despite the demon race not secreting any substances while sleeping.

"I have a proper name, milady. I have been serving you for 20,000 years and yet you never call me by it."

"Then would you prefer I call you 'butler' from now on? Because I don't feel the need to put in effort to remember your name."

After a long sigh, the demon butler replied, "Sebastian will do."

Lilith, accustomed to this conversation that came up every 100 years, quickly moved on.

"Have the others been awake for long? What is known of the current state of humanity?"

"The scouts have been awake for fifty years and learned much of humanity. As predicted by our late master, the humans began to use their talent for invention to become the dominant species and are beginning to surpass their own racial limitations with experimental genetic modification that is still in the experimental phase."

"As always, one of our masters prove once again that their race truly stands supreme in all aspects but numbers. When does the comet arrive?"

"Tonight."

"TONIGHT!?! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME SOONER!?" Lilith's scream of surprise and rage caused the entire ruin to shake.

"Every demon sent to wake you was killed when you directed your unconscious irritation at them." Despite Lilith's rage bearing down on him, Sebastian didn't seem particularly perturbed, clearly accustomed to such matters. "Besides, I knew you would wake up in time, so I felt it wasn't necessary to put effort into waking you."

"But I don't have enough time to prepare myself for greeting the new Master!"

"Even if you woke up earlier it would make no difference. It seems the First feared that his progeny would be hunted by the gods and their servants, so he hid his bloodline. We won't be able to tell who our new master is until he matures to the point that he can defend himself."

Lilith was surprised by this at first until she remembered that such foresight is to be expected from the strongest First Master.

"Have you at least discovered those who will awaken to bloodlines? Surely the First would allow us some way to protect his progeny."

"Yes, we have. We don't know which among the bloodline bearers will be our new lord, so we've assigned lesser demons to all of the male bloodline bearers and told them to transform into a female human form and get close to them to protect them more efficiently."

"But what if our Lord falls for one of them?! I refuse for a lesser demon to achieve standing by seducing our Lord before he matures!"

"We've already taken measures to prevent that. Although the First liked to tease us demons, he still left us two clues about our Lord's identity."

"Oh? And what are these two clues?"

"The first clue is words that the elder demons remember the First speaking about his visions of his progeny. Supposedly, he is very picky, and refuses to partake in things that don't suit his tastes and interests enough."

"I still don't see how this relates to a countermeasure to our Lord falling to a mere lesser demon!"

"I was just getting to the crux of the matter. The second clue is you yourself, and the words of the First, your creator, in regards to you. You were created to match the tastes of the First's progeny perfectly, and the First mentioned placing great emphasis on your breasts when creating you." Sebastian put on a look of pride before continuing. "Clearly, our new Lord prefers women with large breasts, so we only sent lesser demon women with flat chests! With this, even if one of the bloodline bearers fall for one of the lesser demon guardians, it just means that he isn't our new Lord!"

"..." Lilith was speechless first. Then, her face revealed great shock before she began to furiously blush. Then, she finally seemed reluctantly impressed.

"... Although it pains me to admit this, considering how ludicrous this is, but it seems that you are most likely correct."

"I wouldn't take actions regarding our new Lord without informing you if I wasn't absolutely certain, milady." Sebastian was clearly very proud of his detective work.

"Well, although they are merely lesser demons, they should be smarter than the average human. Hopefully our Lord won't be impressed by their intellect."

"That shouldn't be a problem. The average human now possesses an intellect roughly equal to a middle ranked demon. Unless they strive to improve their intellect, all demons below that rank are less intelligent than most humans. The lesser demons assigned to the bloodline bearers should be considered stupid by our new Lord."

"Truly, you have thought of everything, Sebastian!" Lilith was very pleased by what Sebastian told her, but displeasure soon clouded her exquisite features. "Even if I am still to become our new Lord's first wife, I still can't be there to see his initial awakening."

Lilith though for a moment before finally speaking up, "Sebastian! Order all the lesser demons to record all the bloodline bearers during their initial awakening!"

"Understood, milady. Even if we don't know which among them will be our new Lord, we do at least need to document the momentous occasion of his awakening somehow."

"I've noticed that no one is present in the ruins. Has everyone moved to a new location?"

"Indeed. 16 years ago, we discovered the entrance to the Hidden Shelter that the First Lord created for his progeny. Clearly, he intended for it to only be discovered at a time that gave us just enough time to prepare for his progeny to inhabit it. It has officially become our new base as of earlier today."

"Then have my quarters been prepared?"

"Yes, though you should be aware of one thing before you move in. The First Lord clearly intended for you to share the quarters with our new Lord, and only one bed for the both of you has been prepared."

Lilith once again blushed before whispering under her breath, "As expected of the playful First Lord."

"Anyway, let us proceed to the portal for now, milady. We can discuss the matters that you've missed there."

"Very well." Lilith replied, before speaking with a thoughtful expression. "I can't wait to meet our new Lord."

"None of us can, milady. We have been without a Lord for a truly long time." Sebastian showed great expectation on his face as he spoke, "Surely he can reclaim the lost glory of his race, as well as our own demon race."
