Chapter 18

William and the trio had returned to the academy just before the dinner time. As William wasn't allowed to eat together with other students, so they had dinner in Kirche's room. It had enough chairs to accommodate all of them...for reasons. After an appetising dinner, they finally started studying the new sword in earnest.

William got some vinegar and clothes from one of the maids and used it to thoroughly remove the rust. As soon as he finished cleaning the sword completely, a yawn escaped from the sword itself. This completely surprised all the other members in the room. Even Tabitha had stopped her books for a few seconds before continuing on.

"Ah! That was a nice sleep. Boy, can you tell me where am I?"

"Wow! The sword spoke." Kirche shouted with an exaggerated look of surprise on her face. Louise looked at William with a look of blame and rolled her eyes as if trying to convey that she had given up on the mysteries surrounding him.

William acted as if nothing was out of ordinary and introduced himself, "Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm William Walker. You are at the Tristain Academy of Magic situated in Tristain."

"Tristain..hmm...never heard of it. Well, whatever! I'm Delfringer, you can call me Derf. As you can see I'm a talking sword."

"You can call me Will bro. I'm that pink-haired girl, Louise's Gandalfr. These two are my friends Kirche and Tabitha." William briefly pointed at everyone and introduced them to the sword. As it was getting very late it was decided that they should retire for the night. This led to another argument between Louise and Kirche - whom should William sleep with. Louise won it end by using an explosion in Kirche's room, forcing Kirche to go to Tabitha's room for the rest of the night.

Tonight was the first time William was going into a true combat situation without help from his subordinates. He had also planned not to use Zangetsu, his ninja skills, and Saphira because it would be pointless then. His attributes were so high that he could just use a C grade katon jutsu and completely devastate the manor of his target.

No, he had a better plan. He wanted to play Assassin Cree- *cough* he wanted to complete this mission with absolute secrecy and no mayhem. Right now he was memorizing the list of all the guards and mages that he could kill that he had asked Saphira to remember. He had been on a pre-mission scout with Itachi yesterday and he realised that they were not the best kind of people humanity had to offer.

This was his first official mission, so he wanted to do his best.

Although Louise wasn't a heavy sleeper, she wasn't a light sleeper too. It was very easy to get out of her room without waking her up. He planned to spend 2 hours to complete the mission, so he should be back by 4:00 am without a hitch. As he was about to jump out of the big walls of the academy, he saw something really unexpected. Tabitha was sitting on Sylphid patiently looking at him. The book in her hands was closed and that alarmed him even more. It seemed like she was also about to go out of the academy secretly.

With a wry smile he looked at her and said, "Tabitha, I will not disturb you right now. But here have these candies to accompany you on the way."

"Oh! It is the missy from before. What's up? Are you also going to play out in the middle of the night? Be careful! There are bad men out there."

After forcefully handing her a small bag of candies, William bailed out of there.

'Well, I learned it first hand that plans don't survive contact with reality.'

Running to Count Mott's estate took William 20 minutes. As he came close to the European looking Medieval castle, he immediately started using his Mangekyou Sharingan to make sure that everything was the same as yesterday's night. After a quick glance, he put on an ANBU knock-off mask and pulled out Derf.

"Bro! are you sure about this? I mean we are going to do something pretty significant out here. What if your master knows? She is a noble too."

William smiled a little and said, "Don't worry she won't know. And I really hate self-entitled piece of shits like this one. I just can't sit back if I can stop it.

Remember this Derf, there are two types of people I hate the most - People who misuse their power and people who don't use their power. As long I can destroy or stop people who misuse power without losing someone on my side, I will do it. The material loss doesn't matter to me. For the people of the latter kind, I don't fuck with them and their philosophy, but if they come in my way even a little bit I will retaliate with everything I have."

"Bro you look so cool saying that line but don't be so passionate if you don't want to mess up this mission."

William was grounded back to reality with a heavy thud. He quickly used his Sharingan to make sure that none of the guards and overheard this conversation and were coming this way to check out the area. After making sure that nothing was wrong, he finally relaxed. He took a deep breath, calmed down his mind and jumped over the estate wall.

William landed right in front of two guards. Before their brain could even register that someone had appeared in front of them, he quickly and smoothly stabbed Derf through their throat and heart. They were dead and hadn't even realized it yet. Alas! They would never have the opportunity.

(*Ding* You have killed 2 Level 5 creature. You gain 200 KP.)

'Not now Saphira. This will break my mojo.'

Using the dark shadows of the castle walls as his cover, William assassinated all the guards on the outer perimeter within 2 minutes. There were only 24 of them. They used to use their status as the guards to disturb and scare the common populace, so William took care of them.

The inner perimeter had a good mix of different kind of people so he didn't bother with them. Overly investing in little problems was a very good way to lose track of the original path. After running up the walls of the actual castle he directly entered the study of the count. It seems that the count was having a nightly sexcapade with one of his maids.

William wasn't very interested in watching a grown man jump up and down on a teenage girl, so he lunged onto him and pierced Derf through his heart. He then jumped behind the startled maid and knocked her out.

"What do you suggest I do with this girl, Derf?"

"I dunno. Maybe take her with you and marry her and simply put her back into an empty maid quarter. The choices are so difficult right?"

"I don't know if you are serious about this or that was sarcasm."

William put the maid in one of the quarter which had signs of living but no one sleeping in it. He presumed that it must be the girl's quarter.

"I will just ask Itachi to come tomorrow to make sure that she is okay. Don't want her to become a murder suspect because of my actions."

"Bro, I just realised that you are a true man! Seeing a matter to the end is really the manliest thing in the world." Seeing that Derf's sobs were getting louder and louder William quickly jumped out of the room and escaped the estate.

He ran back to Louise's room without any complications, threw away Derf into a pile of Louise's worn clothes and jumped into the bed to catch some sleep.

'Thanks Saphira. Anything suggestions for the distribution of free Attribute points? And what does Killing Intent do?'

(*Ding* Killing Intent is very useful in battle. If you explore it on your own it should be even more beneficial, so I will refrain from giving you a definition and setting your boundaries. I suggest you spend all of the Attribute points into levelling up Killing Intent. As it is not a part of your body it can only be increased by either killing more or using the free attribute points.)

'Sure, do that. Good night!'

(*Ding* One more thing before you sleep. Due to the addition of Antony the farm had already risen to Level 7. I need to reach Level 10 to construct the markers. If Itachi finds a new dragon, you may be able to see Claudia sooner.)

'Don't worry about me so much Saphira. I do miss her, but doesn't that sweeten the pleasure of reuniting even more?'
