Brute force is it?

Lisa was on her way home with Bruce, she boarded a cab to take them home because she did not have a car of her own. However, she wasn't exactly ready to own one. Sincerely speaking, the cost of ownership and management of a car was quite high, even if she owned one it would simply add to her stress.

Bruce was poised in a mixed feeling of joy and pain, to discover his dad was given the worst burial ever and also for the fact that his legs were okay. He just sat quite in the cab, not uttering a word until they both alighted the cab. "welcome to my abode!" Lisa said. Bruce was slightly stunned with the magnificence before him, it was like a palace, they only problem was this queen lived alone.

Bruce was slightly stunned because he knew very well of the amount of money she earned, not the exact pay but he knew the the pay was marginally higher than so many other jobs. Furthermore, even if some jobs were put together, they still couldn't stand the pay from the firm. She too could also be considered an elite of the society.

The gate before him had a silver lustre to it, which made it shine in the touch of a sun. it wasn't quite tall making the house extremely visible from the outside. As the two approached the gate it opened on its own, Bruce just stood in awe. Where he came from, things were aukward, nobody possessed a communication device, nobody possessed a spirit soul, nobody was strong enough to compete with the elites of the society. It modern terms such places are called slums.

"we can go in now right?" Lisa brought Bruce back to consciousness. She was very well aware of the thoughts in his head which seemed very natural to her.

She couldn't afford to think of her past due to the challenges she had faced. Reality was cruel but an opportunity had presented itself as always and she made a wise choice, she had been able to rise to such heights depending solely on herself and her spirit soul.

Her parents never liked the idea of working for the firm, but she was hell-bent on becoming a farmer. Her stubbornness prompted her parents to disown her, leaving her to fend for herself, after all it was taking a large burden off one's head. " Maybe your spirit soul will save you!!". these were the final words of her father before he sent her away, she could never forget it anytime she thought of it, she felt a bee sting in her heart. Although she had a wealthy background, her condition was not farfetched from Bruce's own. She had managed to pass the test which was her breakthrough into the world of farming. She joined the Farming school of coastline jury and graduated a success, finally she had arrived at the firm, this took her several years of hard work and perseverance.

Just as she stepped into the compound she perceived someone outside the usual, she began sniffing like an animal, Bruce quickly discerned it to be her spirit soul at work.

Lisa's spirit soul was a Bear. Anyone with an animal as a spiritual soul was classified under the rank of soul beast. This was the second rank above the first which was the soul bearer. Soul beast were particularly strong when it came to battles of attrition, this is what they were most suited for because animals weren't creators. They lacked in long-ranged attacks except for a few creatures like the snake, monkey and the goose.

Lisa had picked up the trail of another spirit soul, but she couldn't particularly tell what it was. If it were a soul beast, she would have known and even been able to tell what type it was, but right now, all the information she gathered from the smell was just the presence of a spirit soul.

She followed the trail round the compound with negligible progress, the aura she felt was somewhat domineering. It filled everywhere and could cause mental suppression to individuals who lacked advanced battle experiences. Infact, if one hadn't faced life and death situation, one cannot possess such aura. Just as she was about to relax, a figure exited the darkness with two light daggers in both hands.

Lisa was very well experienced, although she knew for sure that this enemy wasn't one that could be taken care of easily, she would still do that without having to release her spirit soul. She took a stance of battle moulding her two palms into two fists. However, it was important to note that even without transformation, one still possessed the strength and abilities of their spirit soul, but there was also a limit to which they could be used.

" Hello love!" the figure said with a smirk on his face, " I will give you a chance to back away, all I need is the boy. Your none of my concern, so if you just hand over the boy, maybe I could just consider sparing your life." 'so this is the case' Lisa thought to herself. "well, sorry to disappoint you, if you need the boy, you will just have to go through me." The figure smiled bitterly, " I guess you can't just do your job without a nobody interfering. I will make it quick and painless" he then dashed towards Lisa swinging one of his daggers.

Lisa then took a step back, slowly dodging the blade by a hair, she could feel the aura that the blade exuded. without hesitation the figure began to close in the gap with large strides towards Lisa, he needed to finish her so he could just be off with his main business. Lisa then realized that it wasn't a battle between noobs, she immediately transformed into a grizzly about 8 meters tall. Moreover, it was well known that Infront of brute force, techniques were useless.

Lisa growled, shaking the very foundations of the buildings. She then stomped the ground beneat her feet, expecting the assassin to slow down, but he kept moving like he was in total control of the battle ground.

Uninterrupted by the growl, he kept heading for Lisa without slowing down. He then threw the second dagger with much more force. The dagger seemed to produce an ear piercing sound as it screeched through the air, just few centimetres away, Lisa swiped her massive left arm evading the dagger completely. The dagger then stabbed into the well designed concrete wall. She charged back with her talons aimed straight for his neck. However the man Infront of her was in no way inferior to her, he had a life's wealth of experience and was even at the top when it came to skills and techniques in utilisation of one's spirit soul. He simply side stepped and evaded the strike without any daggers in his hands.

Without giving him any opportunity to recover she swung her right arm at him, he looked at her with a grim expression on his face, the two daggers appeared on his hands blocking the strike. He brandished the daggers and launched another attack at the bear Infront of him. He jumped and twisted in the air, performing two flips before landing behind Lisa, he quickly stabbed the dagger at her back. Such moves were usually difficult to evade against because they usually took the victim by suprise.

Just few centimetres away from the successfully taking down the bear, he felt a sudden chill on his body, the distance between himself and the bear suddenly growing, he smashed himself against a pile of crates, he stood up slowly looked at the bear, spat out red blood. He smiled and said, "I will be back" he then ran performed a few stunts and exited the compound in grand style. At that moment when he had landed behind Lisa she didn't bother turning to face him, she simply the sole of her feet to thump on his chest, gradually increasing the distance between them. This kind of move could instantly kill a victim if taken lightly. The man who had fought her, hadn't been well accustomed with a bears stance so he wasn't fully prepared.

Bruce was momentarily stunned at the display from Lisa, he remembered when his dad had fought to protect him but yet lost his life to a number of mutants. what he just saw right now was heaven defying.

Lisa shifted back and fell to the ground, blood dripping from her hands, an effect of trying to block the blades. Fully transforming into her spirit soul had consumed alot of her energy and she couldn't even stand with what was left. Bruce dragged her like he did his father into the house, this time it wasn't a dead person but still a very conscious mutant.
