Rewards

The Shu family could also be considered a winner in itself in the concluded event.

The family indeed became rich—not only because of the income generated by the inn and trading area, but also because of Qai and Shu Liang's harvest inside the Wasteland.

All the members of the Shu family received something, including spatial rings and lots of cultivation resources as rewards for the great job each member rendered.

And with all the spatial rings that Qai stole, it was more than sufficient to give each member of the family—to the delight of all of them. The remaining spatial rings were eventually placed in the Shu family's Treasury Hall.

Undeniably, the two nearby villages also earned a lot.

Both village heads and their elders also participated in buying few treasures and cultivation resources in order to store in their respective villages as soon as they get home.

The entire delegation of the Purple Mist Sect, on the other hand, said their thanks to the two village heads and to the Shu family before they finally left 'The Hunters' Plateau.'

A day after the sect left the place, the two villages' people also started to pack their belongings as guests also started to depart one by one.

Both the village chiefs were grateful to the Shu family especially to Qai and Shu Wei. They never thought they would have such kind of opportunity. Not only did they earn a lot but their villages had also gained a bit of reputation.

When the entire event had officially ended three days later, Qai placed the infant wild apes in one of the sheds.

But when he got there, he noticed that the wild ox and wild bear finally broke through and became a true bloom 'domesticated' demonic beast at the initial Earth stage.

They appeared to have evolved way faster than the previous batch of demonic beasts as they only took few months.

Such breakthrough was a sort of reward in itself for the family. Two new members of the family were instantly added.

Thus in total, Qai had one 'contracted' demonic beast in Shandian, six 'domesticated' demonic beasts—namely, the two War Horses, two Dire Wolves, one Battle Ox and one Storm Bear (and the two recently 'tamed' infant apes).

Immediately, Qai thought of creating a cart or a decent carriage that may be pulled by the Battle Ox. He specifically chose the wild ox for such purpose in the first place. Qai thought that the family should own one to be used for huge transport.

Qai then brought the Storm Bear in the main manor's courtyard. He intended that the Storm Bear should be an imposing guard of the Shu family manor.

'It's just a matter of time before this family becomes a clan,' Qai thought.

'Growl.'

Shandian who was beside Qai all that time was in the same line of thought.

The Wasteland event of the Purple Mist Sect became an eyeopener for the Shu family especially for Qai.

He saw the huge difference between the Shu family and the other clans.

He too dreamt of preparing for the next event. He was actually thinking that his young nephew, Shu Kongxu, would be a cultivator by then.

'Kongxu would be around eight years old by then and perhaps Shen would be at half-step Sage in the next five years,' Qai pondered with a grin.

He then looked into the horizon and sighed.

'I better hurry up and make this family gain more resources to improve everyone's level,' he determined in his mind.

Qai continued to think of the future after he figured out the success his family achieved in the entire month.

After everything went back to where it originally was, the entire family also went back to each one's regular task.

"Everyone, listen up," Qai said during a meal.

All the members of the Shu family looked and intently waited for whatever Qai would say.

"Hmmmn," Shu Wei softly said.

"It's about time to focus on everyone's cultivation once again," Qai happily said.

"Eh."

"With all the resources that we gained in the past month..," he explained, "..it will not take long before many of us reach the Sage realm."

'Sage!?' Xiao Ning and Jing thought in delight.

"In the next five years, before the wasteland portal opens again..,"Qai said, "..we'll try to push harder for father to reach half-step Emperor."

He proudly said it while rubbing his nose.

Everyone's eyes grew wide with those words. Shu Wei on the other almost choked from the food he was eating.

"And we'll participate under the banner of our own family" Qai declared.

"Ah."
