First Day

It was good that Liu Hei had set up a barrier in the plateau, the strong Qi aura of the new guest was somehow suppressed by a bit and did not affect much the members of the family.

But even then the surge of the aura of the new guest seemed truly uncontainable.

It was Emperor Void.

Apparently, the arrival of the spouses Liu Hei and Liu Hua did not escape the ears of the Purple Mist Sect.

And like Patriarch Mo Chen, he would was just intrigued. And perhaps in this visit, he could hear a thing or two about his little 'friend.'

"Hmmm," the Sect Master mumbled with a smile.

He was himself familiar with creating barriers with his Void elemental affinity so he could not but admire the efficiency of setting up one.

"The only thing missing is an offensive array and this plateau would be formidable," the Emperor Void thought.

After few breaths, he was welcomed by the Shu family head and its Protectors in the spouses' newly built manor.

All of a sudden, 'The Hunter's Plateau' became a gathering of a handful of powerful individuals in the area.

And with the presence of three emperors, the family head and the two village chiefs who were all in the Sage realm felt pressured and seemed wlike ants in front of the three.

But since no one from my the guests had ill w, the gathering became light and enjoyable.

Soon the manor became lively with plenty of stories and updates including future plans for the area particularly in the next opening of the Desolate Wasteland. And with another emperor with Void elemental affinity, everyone agreed that the portal might be sustained a bit longer.

****************

After few days, many cultivators who gathered in Rockfield Borough started moving in the direction of the forbidden 'Hundred Graves.'

That was because, news that the flaw in the barrier was already thin enough for a cultivator to pass through it safely.

"Quick," one cultivator exclaimed. "We can't let others get ahead of us."

Qai eventually also made his move at the news as well as the young Sect genius.

However, the very cautious Qai did not think that entering the place early would have any advantage—worse, they could even become cannon fodder for the unknown danger—so he did not rush his way to the entrance.

And when Qai arrived at the entrance, there were no more signs of the groups that went ahead. Everyone seemed to have already entered the forbidden Hundred Graves.

Qai hesitated for a bit and took a deep breath before entering.

'Sou.'

It took around ten breaths before Qai finally got inside the area—but crossing through the barrier made him feel that it was half a day that he almost cough out a mouthful of blood due to its strong suction force.

He then quickly scanned his body by circulating his Qi and stabilized his energy. And right after he regained his strength, he immediately activated his 'Hawkeye' skill to survey the surrounding.

He quickly saw groups of cultivators in several areas already fighting out as they appeared to have found a rare herbs that early.

'This place sure had plenty of treasures,' Qai said to himself.

He was not interested to join the scuffle for the herbs as he felt that that if there were already treasures from the start, there would likely be much more valuable items later on. Besides, risking his life early did not seem logical.

Nobody knows how large the unexplored area was so Qai simply went his way and avoided the fighting cultivators.

On his way, he encountered few demonic beasts of different kinds. But was unique with the beasts in the area was that they appeared to have been affected with some kind of disease as evidenced by their scarlet eyes.

Apparently, the demonic beasts attack wildly and without any instinctive fear to the extent that they seemed to have no regard for their lives.

'Good thing they don't attack in horde,' Qai said in relief after battling two demonic beasts in the Sky stage of the Sage realm.

Qai had to fight long range and tried to tank the target from a distance evading the enemy's reach—and with his 'Hawkeye' coupled with his mastery of his movement skill, it was easy for him to see the demonic beast's weak spot and target it relentlessly.

Such style was strenuous since unlike a true skill, the bow's damage was not really great so he had to expend much Qi by continuously activating both the 'Hawkeye' and 'Flash' skills while infusing Lightning element in every strike. So he had to take a break every now and then and ingest some medicinal pills.

And since the demonic beasts seemed to be infected with strange disease, Qai decided not to take their cores or any part of their bodies.

However, after half a day of travel inside the forbidden Hundred Graves by himself, Qai eventually gathered several rare herbs, although to his standards, they weren't really that fortuitous.

When night fell moreover, the entire forbidden ground was suddenly hovered with thick mist with highly toxic smell that could probably kill mortals in few breaths.

Like everybody else inside the forbidden Hundred Graves, Qai, who was then cultivating on a large branch of a tree felt the strange atmosphere.

He was suddenly disturbed by the stench and slightly trembled. And when he opened his eyes, his heart jumped as he almost fell over by what he actually saw.

'Wooooooooooom.'
