‘Hall of Hunters’

After Qai left, the Emperor Void summoned the Elders of the Purple Mist Sect to assemble a quick meeting.

First, he had to pass on the duties to one of the elders while he was a away during the entire period of Gathering of the Five Great Sects. At the same time he would also relay some errands in preparation for the said event.

Secondly, he suddenly had an idea which would need the approval of the elders. He could not simply just waste the secrets he obtained from Qai.

If the Emperor Void could personally take advantage of the knowledge he just attained, then he would use it to strengthen his Purple Mist Sect.

Clearly, their own prized 'Chui Shi' was more advantageous to those who followed the 'Beast Taming' cultivation path. In the entire continent there were probably only few that actually did it. And from among those cultivators—Qai was perhaps the only one who raise such path to another level.

In his mind, he was not tyrannical enough to take advantage of Qai and his family. If some other organizations learned of Qai's secret, they would probably eliminate the entire Shu family and steal their secrets.

But the Emperor Void was different. He could do some other method that would have the same result but he was not keen on stealing Qai's secrets.

What left to him was to protect the secret and at the same time make the entire Shu family a part of the Sect. But how he would make both ends meet was obviously a difficult matter.

He wanted to get the best out of the knowledge he received but he did not want to betray Qai's loyalty to him and to the Sect. He could not just teach the Sect's disciples everything after agreeing to Qai's conditions.

So in his mind, it was better for him to nurture the Shu family's strength and at the same time recruit the entire family into his Sect's fold.

There were actually plenty of ideas that came to his mind but the best one he could come up with was transforming 'The Hunters' Plateau' into a branch minor sect of the Purple Mist Sect—so that all disciples who would wish to follow the Beast Taming path would be sent under the Shu family's care.

But of course, this was just one of the solutions he had. And even if that turned out to be the best scenario, he would still need the entire Sect elders' approval.

One by one, the sect elders arrived inside the hall in the Sect Master's palace.

And when everyone was present, the Emperor Void quickly gave his instructions concerning the upcoming Gathering of the Five Great Sects.

The things that the Sect Master relayed were actually obvious that even without telling them, the elders would do the same.

But right after the Emperor Void was finished, the sect elders were surprised when the Sect Master asked them to remain in their seats.

"I have another important matter to discuss with you fellow Dao Emperors and elders of the sect," the Sect Master said.

He then briefly relayed the things Qai reported about the uses of the 'Chui Shi' and that Qai's nephew was now one of his direct disciples having the same Void elemental affinity as his.

The elders nodded in approval as they also found that the special pendant was that amazing. To think that it could quickly raise the level of tamed demonic beasts—that truly was something unheard of.

The Sect Master also revealed that Qai traded him the his own secrets about Beast Taming—and since he cannot tell them what it was all about, he expressed his desire to make 'The Hunters' Plateau' as part of their sect.

"Even if I cannot tell you everything that Qai opened to me," the Emperor Void said, "there would only be benefit to us should we truly merge the Shu family with us."

It was not something new that a cultivating family or clan had fully joined a sect. In fact, in the cultivation world, some sects were simply a conglomeration of different clans.

But the truth was, the Shu family was just a small ant in the eyes of a Great Sect. Some elders could not even reconcile how would a small family be able to contribute greatly to a powerful sect like the Purple Mist Sect.

Besides that, doing such would mean the sect would have to offer the Shu family some authority in the Sect. And being just a small family, few elders felt the sect would be a laughingstock if they agreed.

Differing opinions quickly rose among the elders. Some agreed with the idea, few were hesitant while others remained silent.

The Sect Master favorably looking upon the Shu family was initially a personal matter of his. But since the Emperor Void told that there would only be gain—even if they don't know what it was—few elders especially those who support the Emperor Void, blindly agreed.

In the end, after a long and arduous deliberation, all the sect elders finally agreed but only up to the extent that the Shu family would simply be an external 'affairs' branch and would not truly merge with the sect—meaning the Shu family would not be invited to move within their territory but would remain in the family's plateau.

And one of the major task they would offer to the Shu family would be the 'guardians' of the Desolate Wasteland since the family's territory was the nearest cultivator settlement to the area. And the family's 'The Hunters' Plateau' should be called the Purple Mist Sect newly established 'Hall of Hunters.'

The only thing left to do was for the Shu family to agree to their offer.
