Fight like the hero you are

"I managed to use illusion pretty well, I have an easy time manipulating the vision of the monsters", Yaacov said.

Mormo listened to both of them as he started to create his plan with the new information that he got, while Moshe kept healing him with his power.

Thousands upon thousands of animals surrounded the trio on the ground, while numerous amount of bats flew above them in the sky. The only good news was that their sonic waves were several folds lower than it was in the cave, but still, it was an attack that reduced their fighting performance, so Mormo had to find a solution to it.

The first attack came from the bats, tens of them descended into the trio, trying to smash their big bodies into them.

"Moshe, punch them", Mormo said hesitantly.

Moshe jumped happily to encounter the first bat, which didn't even look at him, all it could see was Mormo.

The bat flew at an incredible speed, which Mormo couldn't even manage to see with his eyes, but very impressively, it looked like the speed of Moshe didn't lose to the speed of the bat!

When Moshe punched the bat, cracks appeared all over its body and blood flew everywhere, its fat and thick skin meant nothing compared to the sheer strength that was contained in Moshe's raw punch.

The bat crashed to the ground, it wasn't dead, but it was injured, unable to fly.

Moshe was in the middle of the sky, falling down, while the other bats flew in Mormo's direction.

"Can you make them hit the ground? If you can, try to make every one of them think that we are at a different location on the ground, if possible, made them think that the ground is below its actual level, so they would smash into it", Mormo said to Yaacov, which in response expand his black essence around the area. Mormo couldn't see the bats flying, only their afterimage, so he could see tens of black lines that flew towards him, abruptly changing direction into random locations and eventually smashing into the ground.

As they smashed into the ground, they weren't moving, so Mormo could see them, sense them, and attack them!

Mormo took 60 percent of his essence and divided it into three groups, each containing 20 percent of his essence. He started to create negative waves to protect his friends and himself from the sonic waves that the bats created, to try to cancel them.

It was easier than it was in the cave, but still, he had to do the cancelation for three different people, he couldn't cancel the waves entirely, it was too much for him. All he could do is to cancel the sonic waves for specific locations.

It took a lot of brain process power from Mormo, so all he could do was to evade some primitive attacks and talk, it was even harder because Moshe and Yaacov needed to move constantly.

When he canceled the sonic waves for Yaacov and Moshe, they immediately felt it, they could now utilize all of their power.

"Listen carefully, until we will not kill most of the bats, I cannot fight with you in this battle. Until we will eliminate all the bats, I will command over you. Fulfill my every order!" Mormo shouted.

They didn't say anything, nor Mormo waited for them to announce their loyalty, it was a given!

"Yaacov, make them think that up is down and that down is up. Moshe, while they are confused on the ground, hit every one of them!" Mormo said again.

Yaacov's eyes shined mysteriously as he performed his orders. He was quite surprised because he never even thought about this possibility, but when he did, he immediately thought about different ways to try to complete his master's orders.

But the bats managed to fly just fine as they returned to the sky. Yaacov tried some of his ideas, but he couldn't perform all of them at once, and the bats were too fast. After only two experiments the bats already escaped his range of influence.

Yaacov's face turned ugly, he was quite ashamed of himself, when he heard Mormo's shout, "Yaacov, man up! You failed only once, I already gave you my orders. I will never take my orders back, you have to succeed! And you will succeed!".

Moshe smiled as he came back to stand near Mormo.

He looked at Yaacov and gave him a confident smile, to show him that he believed in him.

Mormo, on the other hand, didn't believe in him at all, he was just a good manager. He knew that people can fail and that it is very important to encourage his employees, especially when they fill down or that the task on hand is impossible, to make them work and think their hardest.

But he gave Yaacov this task, and if Yaacov couldn't manage to do it, it was partly a mistake of Mormo as well, in the end, he commanded him to do so.

Mormo already started to think of different ways to solve their current problem, in any case, the power that Yaacov could utilize was amazing and very useful.

The next batch of bats started to descend upon them.

"Moshe, you have to stop the animals that surround us from coming too close to us. Fight them not to kill, but to stop them from advancing to our place. Don't initiate any attack, run around us in a circle and stop any monster that coming too close, don't go any further than where Yaacov's essence can reach!" Mormo commanded Moshe.

Without talking or nodding Moshe started to run in a random direction. The animals still didn't start their attacks, so Moshe stood next to the edge of Yaacov's essence waiting for the animals to come.

Mormo didn't tell anything to Yaacov, Yaacov knew what he had to do.

The bats smashed again into the ground, and after a second of confusion, they shoot back into the sky.

The animals looked from afar as the bats one round after the other, descended into the ground, smashing their bodies on the ground, and then flying back.

They probably didn't start their attack because they could sense that something is wrong with the bats and their behavior.

Yaacov still didn't manage to control the bats' dimensional sense.

"I will not be able to keep blocking the sonic waves for much longer, my brain hurts quite a bit already", Mormo thought to himself.

The animals that surrounded the trio started to run in their direction, the mob of monsters contained all sorts of weird creatures that Mormo never heard of or knew about.

Mormo didn't think that all the animals will attack together as if they could communicate, it looked like they were an actual army.

"We are moving, follow me!" Mormo shouted as he run in a direction that led to an exit of the inner forest, he tried to run back into the middle region of the forest.

"We cannot face all the creatures while they are around us, we need to fight them while all of them come from the same direction! Or at the very least, we need a plan", Mormo shouted.

Abruptly, Yaacov shouted, "I cannot influence monsters that my essence cannot touch", as if to remind Mormo that he couldn't just show all the monsters that are surrounding them, that the trio are running into a different location.

"It's fine, your powers are quite useful as they are now!" Mormo reassured Yaacov again.

As Mormo ran towards the monsters, an idea flew into his head, "The sonic waves will influence every monster that will come near us!"

As Mormo came closer to the monsters, the bats followed him, his friends didn't feel the sonic waves, but the monsters did! Moshe run between the monsters and attack whatever monster he could reach while Yaacov made them attack one another. It was true chaos, monsters flew everywhere, blood filled the ground. The monsters couldn't do much because of the sonic waves that descended on them.

Mormo, Yaacov, and Moshe kept running out of the inner forest, while the monsters, out of frustration, started to attack the bats.

The bats still crazily tried to run after the trio, but the other monsters blocked their way and fought them furiously!

The bats weren't a smart species, but they could understand whom to attack and whom to protect, they just weren't in their right mind. The other monsters thought about it as a betrayal, first, the bats didn't attack the trio, just played around, and then, they helped the trio to escape by attacking the other animals. It was enough to start a fight to the death with them.

Thousands of bats fought with thousands of animals, which gave Mormo and the others the best opportunity to run away from the inner forest.

All three of them ran like maniacs without looking back until they managed to leave the inner forest.
