This place is where my story starts

Adeline's grandfather is now resting at the back of the wooden carriage. Since the carriage don't have any roof, she covered him with the dry blanket that she got from somewhere. Adeline now was inspecting her mother. Her mother height was 5'3", her facial features is similar to Adeline. Adeline thought if she will be able to compute her BMI, her mother would be around 16 or 17. She is really malnourished. She has hematoma around her right eye. Adeline thought that her mother was physically abuse. Her skin is very dry. Basically she is unhealthy. Her grandfather Cardo on the other hand seems in pain. She knows that her grandfather can't get up due to his old injury. Based on the memories that she dug up, his grandfather might have suffered a fracture.

In this world, people are praised because of their strength so maybe the reason that her mother was replaced by someone by his father was because her grandfather is already crippled and to him he is useless.

She was also surprised that every time she remembers the tear shape jade which she thought was strange because this was given by her first patient during her residency days and why is it still with her.

She subconsciously touches the tear and a window like appear in front of her. Although, Adeline is 45 years old but during her younger years she also played rpg. Her stat was revealed:

This is the first window, when one mentally switches to the next window Adeline can't do it. It seems like something is blocking it. Adeline look around but to her surprised it seems like she is the only one who can view it.

When they reach at entrance towards the town, the two green beast salamander that are humanoids just look towards them then let them enter. They did not even interview them. The person that they talked when they were queuing told them that the city seems lenient. Inside the city Adeline was surprised because she saw not only human but also dwarves, elves, beast humanoids and so on. It seems like the city of khoryu is the melting pot of all the races.

Cara smile to me, "This is all that we got." She handed me the 1 pouch of coins, "I will stay here for a bit and watch father." Adeline nodded. It seems that mother wants me to find something to rest. When Adeline was about to count the pouch, the pouch disappears as soon as I touched the tear shape jade pendant, then a "Ka-ching" sound can be heard by her. She touched the Jade and additional word can be seen that is money: Gold 1000.

Adeline tried to dig information within her memory and remember that the lowest denominator is silver while the highest is celestial coin. The windows also showed her the exchange rate:

50 silver = 1 gold

50 gold = 1 elven coin ( wind coin) ( green color)

50 elven = 1 magicite coin ( water coin) ( blue color)

100 magicite = 1 Dragon coin ( fire coin) ( red in color)

1000 Dragon coin = Celestial coin (white in color)

Some names such as elven coins also have other names. All coins have similar size. All the coins are 2 centimeters in diameter. They only differ in what are the insignia that was place on the coin and color.

Adeline went to the nearest inn but according to them they are full already. She visited several inn but all of them were fully book. It was past afternoon, so she went to this big building made out of bricks with a sword and shield logo and below its logo were written "BAND OF GUILDS" When she entered the room, there are at least 2 people. One is a 50 year old looking man sitting on the chair and an elf with green color hair and eyes. Both of them have a height of around 5'7".

The men look towards Adeline location and smile. The elf spoke up first, " I am sorry but currently we are close, if want to place a request just handed it tomorrow." Adeline sigh and said, "You see I am new year and I was lost while looking for a place to stay but most of the inn is full. When I saw your guild's name maybe you can give me at least free information." The 50 year old looking guys was startled when Adeline speak fluently then face her, " What are the specifics young lady." She saw that Adeline looks like beggar in her attire but the old man felt that she seems to be one of the fallen noble without any bad attitude.

Adeline faintly smile due to relief. She thought that those old men will not speak to her. She walks towards their direction and sit on one of the chair which made them startled. Adeline smile, " My name is Adeline" The elf speak first and said, " Name is Amrod and that human is Kuger " Adeline nodded and continue, " I would like to buy a house that is at least within 1000 gold coin limit." Kuger brows are now close and said, " I don't think you can buy such house in that small amount especially in the Seiryu area or even in Byakko area." Adeline pondered, " What do you mean by Byakko and Seiryu?"

Kuger smile, " This is the capital city of khoryu and within the city it is divided in areas. The northern part is the Genbu area, which is usually the port areas, you can see several fisherman or ships in there. The east area is the residential areas also known as Seiryu, most of the upper, middle and some lower income people live in there. The west is the Byakko area which is a trading place. Some upper, middle and mostly lower income families live in there.

Adeline thought that the she also heard about this guardian beast in some Chinese and Japanese literature but wait she thought, " What about Suzaku?" The two men look at each other. Amrod sigh and said, " Suzaku is a desolate place and very dangerous place but if you really want it, his father," as he pointed Kuger, " has a land in there." Kuger nodded, " We have, you can buy it around 1300 gold coins but I will let you have it around 900 gold coins as long as you don't sold it back to me."

Adeline nodded, " Don't worry, I will not sell it back to you. Why is it desolate?" Kuger sigh, "that place was where the first guild was erected but 300 years ago the natural barrier which is the big stones that are lined and act as a barrier was destroyed by a rampaging savage dragons plus the succeeding earth quakes. The most important reason why no one is living in there is that place exception with that eccentric dwarf blacksmith who is still living in there, that place is near the entrance to the Lost Forest and land of the Yellow Emperor. The forest is filled with high level of monster. The deeper you get the higher the level. One report said they were attack by level 120 boar just few miles away from the entrance of the forest to its deep part.

Upon hearing this, Adeline was kind of fearful but her gut feeling told her to accept the offer which she did. Kuger and Amrod gave her a map of the whole city and place an x mark on it. Adeline asked Kuger for a written agreement that he already sold it to her. Kuger was shocked and surprised that Adeline knows a bit about trading. Kuger grab a agreement paper and sign it and so as Adeline.

Adeline went back to the carriage where her mother and grandfather was. Her mother was still tending his sleeping grandfather and told her mother that they will go to the place on the mark area. From the northern part towards the southern part. Unlike the other areas, the Suzaku area is outside the city gate already. Several meters away from where she was, she saw the broken stone wall. Adeline walk towards the x mark until they reach the remnants of the previous guild. One can see rubbles and vines enveloping the entire ruined building. Adeline smile, " this place is where my story starts." Then she looks at her two remaining family members and promise to take care of them. She thought, she was given a second chance already and she make most of it.
