Episode 7

Unanswered Calls & Unspoken Words

Shola's POV

"Why is she doing this?"

Shola picked up his phone and redialed Ayobami's number for what felt like the hundredth time.

Since they returned on Sunday night, he had been trying to reach her—without success.

Now, it was Monday morning, and still nothing.

Frustrated, he paced up and down his mansion, restless.

He couldn't bear it anymore.

Grabbing his polo and car keys from his walk-in wardrobe, he stormed out of the house, barely acknowledging his maid as he muttered, "I'll be back soon."

Ayobami's POV

Simbi, Oke, and I had stayed up gisting till 2 AM before finally heading to bed.

By the time I woke up, it was already 10 AM.

Rubbing my eyes, I sluggishly made my way to the kitchen—until I spotted my bag on the couch.

"OMG!" I gasped.

I had forgotten to call Shola!

Snatching my phone from my bag, I checked the screen—

My jaw dropped.

Missed Calls: Shola (17)

"Eh, Jesus! How do I even begin to explain this?"

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Who could that be so early?

I was dialing Shola's number when I swung the door open—

And there he was.

Angry.

Fuming.

I was done for.

"Shola, I—"

He didn't let me finish.

He brushed past me, stepping into my apartment.

I turned to find Oke standing near her room, watching the scene unfold.

Shola inhaled sharply, trying to stay calm.

"Hello," he said to Oke, forcing a polite smile.

Without waiting for a response, he added, "Do you mind if I kidnap your friend?"

Oke grinned. "No problem."

"That settles it then," he said, turning back to me.

Before I could react, he grabbed my hand, pulling me toward the door.

"Wait!" I protested.

He stopped, his eyes questioning.

I gestured to my outfit—a pair of shorts and a loose top with no bra.

He smirked.

"I'm fine with it."

I gaped at him in disbelief.

"No way. I'm not leaving like this."

He tilted his head, a devilish grin spreading across his lips.

Before I knew it, my feet were off the floor.

"Shola! Put me down!" I shrieked, kicking my legs.

He waved at Oke as he carried me out, paying no attention to my protests.

He dumped me into the passenger seat and shut the door.
