CHAPTER 92: TOUGH LADY

Something undefinable was humming in the air between them. And it wasn't coming from her. "What are you doing here?"

He shrugged and one finger strolled down her cheek. "You're very warm—I'd guess you're blushing. That leads me to believe that you might be waiting for your lover, for a tryst in a furniture showroom."

Leigh blinked; she was too locked in her own struggles to care much about passion. With too many responsibilities placed on her at an early age, her passions ran to security, her parents in one place and money in her bank account.

She sensed that this man would know about passion—how to stir it, how to savor it. His intimate study of her sent a wave of odd sensation through her. The bed beneath her seemed to slant and shift and the sheets slid erotically over her skin.

"People do that?"

He shrugged again and she shivered as his mouth curved slightly in a sleepy, sensuous smile. "I find them once in a while when I come to tidy up."
