CHAPTER 119: INDULGE ME

In the shadows of his spartan home, Jarek was warm and alive and safe. In that moment, when the wind had thrown her against him and the wind chimes' musical sound had mixed with that of the storm, Leigh had felt complete, as if she'd found peace at last.

Leigh closed her eyes as Jarek's lips cruised hers, warming away the storm's chill. Or was it the past sliding away and a new beginning waiting for her, with the rain pounding Jarek's small home, the wind howling around it. In the sound of the wind chimes and in the pounding of her heart, she knew she would make love with Jarek that night.

She arched up against him, locking her fists in that waving hair, holding him as she dived into sensations, textures and pleasure —rough skin against her own, big, broad, wonderfully strong and gentle hands framing her face. Was the fierce tempo of the storm outside, or was it within her body and her heart?
