Becoming a guard

One day later, the slaves and the tiger brothers reached the main city Waldov of Warren Lands. For Aster it felt like they came to modern China, except that no technology is developed here. People with robes, civilians with plainclothes are everywhere. People mounted on strange horse type animals, knights who are regulating the law in the streets, slum rats who are doing thief, merchants, and everything can be seen in this city.

As they entered the city, Aster's mouth gaped.

'What a luxurious city. They even have wooden 7-floor buildings everywhere.' Walking on the rock tiles, they reached the mansion of the Duke.

The mansion of the Duke was grand. Golden inscriptions were shining on the walls of the mansion, numerous Doves were painted on the walls symbolizing the authority and power of the owner.

As they entered the mansion, it was too grand. Perhaps only the Forbidden palace in Beijing, constructed by Mongolian Khubilai khan during the Yuan dynasty can compare to this mansion.

Soon, the young master Alexander's butler received the slaves and compensated the Tiger brothers with 19 gold coins and 50 silver.

Butler Zuchi stood in front of the slaves who are standing in an organized manner. "From now on you are the personal property of young master Alexander. The Butler Zuchi took paper and pen, writing the names of the slaves, their skills and abilities.

"You come over here, state your name, age, and skills!" Butler Zuchi sat on a chair, inspected the teeth of the slave who came along with Aster and Mina.

"My name is Buma, age 29, can do hard work and have artisan skill. My father was an artisan." A man with brown hair with a fragile body stated.

"Not good, you look so weak. Hmm… Okay you will become a fireman. You shall fire the wood and heat the mansion. Next!" Butler Zuchi said.

As the slaves was allocated into the several departments of the mansion, guided by some servants. Soon it was the turn of Mina.

'Oh, a young girl. Hmm are the Tiger brothers dumb? Why would they send us this young girl? It's a nuisance for feeding a child. Anyway, I believe that she can clean the room of young master Alexander.' Butler Zuchi said with disdainful eyes.

"My name is Mina, age 8, and I don't have any particular skills." Mina looked at the floor, said with shaking hands, and weak voice.

"You become a janitor at young master Alexander's room, next" Butler Zuchi claimed.

When Aster moved forward, Butler Zuchi's eyes sparkled. Wait, what a splendid young man' as he put his fingers in Aster's mouth he found sparkling, pearl-like teeth. "Who are you, why do you have so smooth skin and white teeth? Were you a noble before?"

As Aster was raised in Earth, of course, he would have strong and white teeth making him look like a noble. He brushed his teeth every day three times with Colgate toothpaste.

When Mina heard that Aster may be a noble before he lost his memories, she said inwardly 'Of course, my brother Aster should be noble. He is a good person! You better give him a good job otherwise if his parents find out you would become a dead person' Mina was soon taken by a female servant and left the courtyard.

"I apologize, sir, I have lost my memories, when the Tiger brothers abducted me as a slave," Aster said with some monotonous voice.

"Oh, better to lost your memories forever, otherwise you become a nuisance, Do you remember your name age?" The butler said.

"I was named as Aster. I am 25 years old. I can guess, I am good at Arithmetic, Calculation, and Drawing" Aster exclaimed.

'Better to become a secretary for the young master instead of a slave. Please make me a secretary or a protocol logger!' Aster prayed to the god.

"Hmm, it looks like you may be a Noble before, therefore let me check your mana. As most Nobles could be sensitive to mana and becomes mages in the future. If you have mana, I will allocate you as a guard of the young master Alexander." The butler Zuchi took the wrist of Aster, he circulated his Qi in order to inspect the young man's body and its mana.

'Oh yes, mana! I should be decent in the aspect of Mana. I hope the last month of training becomes handy at this moment!' Aster closed his eyes sucking the mana around the air.

When Butler Zuchi's Qi entered Aster's body, an invisible force was resisting the Butler's Qi for not harming the body. If the Qi tries to inspect Aster's liver, the mana residing in the liver would force the Qi back, when the Qi tries to inspect Aster's bones, the mana residing in the bones would repulse and shake the Qi back.

When Butler Zuchi found that the invisible force or the mana Butler Zuchi never could comprehend and sense before was residing in the young man in front of him. He thought to himself 'That was definitely Mana. It was always invisible to me. He should be a mage! So young, yet so strong. Hope those dumb tiger brothers didn't abduct a young master of a powerhouse' Sweat was dripping from the forehead of Butler Zuchi.

"Aster right? There is a high chance that you are noble. Therefore, I wouldn't be harsh to you. If you recall your memories back, just tell us. We would support you to meet your family back. Don't become offended, but until then I would allocate you as a guard of young master Alexander." Butler Zuchi said.

'Better to notify the Duke himself, If he finds this young man worthy, and make good connections, the merit of finding this splendid young man would go to me.' Thinking about the rewards being provided, Butler's eyes were sparkling with gold coins.

He was wondering how Mina was doing, and upon hearing that she would become a janitor, he thought to himself that at least she wouldn't do hard work labor as like as in the mine, or other places. If you can compare this place to the treatment Tiger brothers were giving to them, it is just like heaven.

He was allocated into a new recruits dormitory, next to the kitchen department which is the outer layer of the mansion. Upon reaching the door of his room, he though himself how his girlfriend Nana was doing, he was missing her so much and trying to not forget any memories he had with her back on Earth. After a few months, his baby would be born. He doesn't even know whether the baby would be a boy or a girl.

'Better to do training intensively and should find a way back to Earth fast. If possible, I should bring Mina to Earth as well, where there she can find a peaceful life'

Determined Aster pulled the doorknob of the room door and entered into his room. After entering, he found that it was a simple room with one bed and one wardrobe for clothes.
