CHAPTER 19: REAL FAMILY

It was the session time with Bro. Carl in the library. Lee Jia arrived so early that day. While waiting to Bro. Carl she took out her phone and scanned some random pictures in her photo album. She scanned it thru then stopped on one picture that made her smile.

Looking at the photo, she captured it almost a month ago. She used it as her wallpaper. Aunt Chaya has not really seen her face because it was dim light on her side but her daddy's face clearly focused.

She does not know why but the first time she saw her on that day. She felt warmed and comfortable with her. Knowing her personality, that could shock her too. She knew people around her wondered what happen to her that she could actually hug her right there and then.

It was a good thing that nobody questions her that time if not, she could not answer the question. All she knew that she likes Aunt Chaya.

The door of the VIP room opens and Bro. Carl greeted her as he walks in. Jia placed her phone aside.

"Hi baby sis, why are you smiling alone? Hmmm…" He teased her as he sat beside Jia. "Do you a crush already?"

"Of course not! I don't want to think about boys. I just want to finish my studies and be a famous artist someday." She said proudly.

He tapped her head and said, "Good girl! You should focus on your studies first. Boys will come to you if he is the one."

She nodded and grinned as she agrees with his brother. Ever since that day they met, she already treated Bro. Carl as her older brother. Her daddy treated him as his own son too. Both of them felt something about Bro. Carl like a real family to them.

"How's your daddy? Is he starting his therapy?" He asked.

"Yes, every week they will go to the doctor for his session. And so far, he can walk normal in due time. Aunt Cha is taking good care with dad so I am not worry." She answered smiling widely.

"You really like Ms. Cha?" Is she really a good person?" Carl asked again.

"Yes, Bro. Carl. She is a good and kind person not only she taking care to my dad but also to me. Every time I was at home, she will check me too and put me to bed like a real mom." Lee Jia proudly says. "She is so pretty too. I miss my mom every day but with Ms. Cha staying in our house. I feel like I have my own mom with me."

"Wow, that good on you. Someday I will meet that Ms. Cha that you have been keep mentioning too." Carl said.

He seems so eager to meet Ms. Cha. He has been imagining that person is like an angel. Lee Jia will not keep on saying good traits about her if she is not one of those.

This is the first time he saw Jia with sparkling in her eyes every time she mentioned about Ms. Cha. Maybe Ms. Cha is really nice person because Jia so fond of her.

Carl knew about the feeling that Jia felt, growing up without a mother by her side. She opened up to him before about her life and everything she does. Loving her dad in her whole life. Her dad always been attentive to her need. No matter how busy he is.

Just like his mom, never neglect her obligations to him even to the foundation. It was her own way to help them every month. He learned it from his mother being generous to other. Some of his earnings he gives it to the foundation.

That is why; he also treats her like his own sister. He grew up in the orphanage. The feeling of being abandon, alternatively, left with parents. He saw that to the children in the foundation.

He is so lucky that he has a mother that loves him so much even though he does not have a father by his side. He is very contented with it.

He treats the children in the foundation like his brothers and sisters. Real family is not just by blood also, by how you treat them.

They started their activities to enhance Jia with art. They were bonding a lot every weekend and it give them the time to know each other. Her dad came to see them before the accident. He treated him so well.

Carl's phone rang a few rings before he answered it. The caller ID indicates was her mom. Pretty Mom to be exact.

It has been a month since she accepted the offer to stay in with her boss. They seldom see each other. It is their date night. Every time they have free time, they set to it to spend time with each other even for a day.

He excused himself to Jia and walked out the room.

"Hello mom, what's up?"

"Son, I changed the venue of our plan today. Can you meet me at the bookstore? I have to buy something for the daughter of my boss." It was Chaya's day off and planning to dine out after his drawing session.

"Okay Mom, no problem. I see you there. I Love you!" He speaks.

"Okay bye, love you too." Chaya responded.

Carl was not aware that Lee Jia was standing behind him when he said goodbye to her mom.

As she listened to their conversation, she can feel the love of his mother. She wishes to meet her someday. To know her more, she can see the way Bro. Carl talked about her on the phone. They seem close just like her with her dad.

When Carl turned around startled. He was not expecting Jia behind him. Jia laughed aloud.

"That was not funny. You, naughty girl." He pinched her nose as he placed his arm over her should. They went back inside for their session.
