CHAPTER 29: REMINISCING

Yoon Chaya decided to meet Carl on her day off. No matter how happy she looks like in Lee's home but deep in her heart, always something she needs to settle. In addition, which is the relationship with her son.

Nothing better if she keeps it in her heart eventually her son will find out. It should be coming from her than to hear it from other people.

There are things also keeps bothering in her mind lately, not just about Carl but also about Moven.

She sighed. 'Why it is things keep on coming up in her life unexpectedly?' Chaya thought while waiting for Carl.

She ordered cheeseburger, fries and soda. Every bite of it, she really loved. Occasionally she ate like this stuff. It brings back her younger years.

----

Yoon Chaya looked back the time when they were still in C City. She enjoyed her younger years with her best friend Tung Kim. Since they were born, both families were closest to each other. They were bound to be sister/best friends for lifetime.

Rich clans of both sides were undeniable. However, they kept their relationship in low profile. Yoon Chaya was not a spoiled brat daughter even she is the only daughter in the family. The eldest one.

She never goes to some parties if it is from business gatherings. She doesn't like to be known to many people because of her background.

Just the same, with Tung Kim, they both have the same goals, same thinking, and same dreams. They have been classmates since they started going to school. They have known as Tiny Twins.

Chaya was smiling while remembering the title they called to them back then. It was one of the best memories in their lives.

They always stick to each other and some of the brats will not hesitate to mess with them because Kim was one of the boys back then. Black belter taekwondo.

They both love to dance; they have been in the dancing club half of their teen's life.

They were members in the dancing club in school. They were excellent when it comes to dancing. They were leaders to their club; they met Liza Chui in their group.

She became their close friend. Liza Chui was also from the rich family in C City but not as known as their clans were.

Since that day, they became good friends with Liza; they were stick to each other during their school days.

Chaya suddenly cut off her memories from the past when Carl texted her that he will be a little bit late due to some circumstances to settle with. She replied his text.

Chaya continued reminiscing her past. She sat in the park nearest to their home. She lives the same neighborhood as Tung Kim. She was supposed to meet her that day but couldn't make it due to some unexpected events in their family that she really needs to be there.

Sitting at the same spot in the park, they used to be, where she was busy reading one of her favorite books, Francine Pascal's Sweet Valley. It is a series of young adult novels attributed to American author.

She also loves Nancy Drew, a mystery series and Sweet Dreams. Those were the books used to be famous during their younger years.

Chaya was there reading all alone when Old English sheepdog came over her. She got startled and dropped her book on the ground. A person was running towards them and stopped his dog. The dog did not do anything to her at all it is just that it suddenly appears in front of her.

The person spoke to her and apologized. "I'm so sorry, my dog was careless sometimes. She just harmless to people so don't be afraid of her." he smiled at Chaya.

"No, it's okay I was surprised for her suddenly pop up in front of me." Chaya smiled back.

"By the way, I'm Shen Tao. My family just moved in this neighborhood yesterday." He introduced himself.

"I'm Yoon Chaya. I live here too." She replied.

It was beginning of their friendship turned into relationship. They have been in relationship for two years when that night happened.

It was a big question mark in Chaya's mind about Liza and Shen. They never caught seeing them together without their knowledge. Therefore, how could they fall in love behind her back?

Before her confusing mind started to explode, Carl appeared with his pleasant smile in front of her.

"Oh, my little boy is not little anymore. I miss you always baby." A smack kiss as soon as Carl leans over to his mother.

"Mom, you should use to it that I'm a grown-up man." Carl grinned naughtily.

"Yeah right, ok just order first before talking with other things. I know you're starving already I can see it through your face." Chaya pushed her son to the counter area.

Carl left the table and went to order his favorite food.

After a few minutes, he brought his own food on the table. They both busy eating their foods. Chaya still struggles a little on how to say it first to Carl.

Carl can sense that his mother was thinking something. He knew her when she wants to talk to him in serious matter.

"Mom, I'm so full. I ate too much today."

"Yeah, I can see that. It seems you've been busy."

"True, I'm so busy today so tell me now."

Chaya was shocked. "What!"

"Mom, do you have something to tell me?"

"Ho..how did you know?"

Carl gave his cheerful smile before answering his mother. "Of course, I have known you since I was born hehehe…"

Chaya calmed down a little and then starts talking seriously to Carl. "Baby, no matter what I tell you. I hope that you will not get mad at me or whatever you will feel about it just tell me ok."

Carl stared at his mother for quite sometimes before he nodded.

Chaya held his son's hands, she started to relay the story to Carl from the beginning she met Shen Tao accidentally. She never misses single details of what she discovered the truth about them.

She observed Carl for a while after she told him everything. His face may not be angry but serene.

"Mom, since the day you told me about my father. I accepted it in my heart that he will never be there for me. About the real father, whoever that is. I will not be going to find him. It's been 16 years and we don't even know who that man was with you." Carl said his piece with honesty.

He paused and held his mother's hands tightly. "I don't blame you for what had happened in the past. It was not your fault either. I am grateful that you never gave up on me when I was still in your tummy. I am thankful that you are my mother. I am blessed because you are the best mom in the world." He added.

Carl stood up. He walked towards his mother and hugged her tight.

Chaya tears fall down. She never imagined that her son was so mature and very understanding. She never expects that she brought up with a fine young man with a good heart.

When she decided to leave her hometown, she left all what she had even her background. Regrets? Nope! Why would she be, she was so happy to live her life as what she wanted to be.

However, she misses her family, her siblings but this is the decision she chose.

One day, she will bring Carl and meet his grandparents. Even it's quite a decade with no communications with other members but only to her brother Yoon Cham.

Now, she realized that what Carl misses is to know his descendants from her side of the family. She will make sure this time he will not be out of this world.

She will contact her brother Yoon Cham and make Carl meet his grandparents. It is time for him to know them. She misses her parents too.

She still not asks for their forgiveness of what happened in her part. The past is what keeps bothering in her heart. 16 years were excessively long but it is never too late to reconcile with her family as well.

She is ready now to decide to go back home. After her obligations to Lee Moven, they will leave to C City meet her parents and siblings too. Oh, I miss them so much!
