"Y-you want m-me to get on t-that?!" I asked the man in complete shock
"What's the issue?" The man sounded aggravated "is it because it's considered a 'death trap'? Could you just give it a chance Before you start to judge her!?"
"Her?" It suddenly slipped out of my mouth
"You gonna judge me on that too?!" He was getting more heated and had raised his voice, which caused me to flinch and plead out of instinct
"I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to offend you or her! J-just please don't hit me!" I covered my head, thinking I was about to be beaten by him
But... nothing happened. Everything outside had just fallen silent, except for a couple of cars passing by.
"I... I never said I would??" The man sounded utterly confused
"I-I'm sorry I-" I gulped in fear "I just thought-"
"Thought I would beat you up because I'm a 'biker'?!"
"W-what?! N-no I-" I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks. I had messed things up even more, I just knew it. I felt his fingers move my long, dark brown hair away from my face. He then wiped the tears from my eyes. I felt my cheeks heat up a little bit, but I was still upset
"Damn kid..." he sighed
"I.... I'm not-" I started to protest, but pulled away in fear
"You aren't what? You can finish your thought..."
I hesitated for a moment before speaking "I'm not... technically a kid... I-I'm 18..."
"Well..." he chuckled "I'm still older, so to me, you're a kid"
I don't know if he noticed or not, but my face was filled with pain. That was one thing I hated about my dad; he thought I was this little kid who couldn't fend for himself.
I was too caught up in thinking to realize The man had already gotten on the bike "well, you joining or not?" I jumped from my thoughts and soon stepped over to the bike. I had always told myself never to get on one... but I didn't have an option now. It was either I get on, or I freeze to death quite literally. Hesitantly, I slung my leg over and climbed on. I looked around for some seatbelts, but couldn't find any "uh.... where are the seat belts?"
The man looked back at me with a grin "I'm your seatbelt~"
I stared at his back in complete shock "you're what?"
The man sighed "just hold onto my waist... and don't let that blanket fly away."
I tied it up around my waist quickly and slowly slipped my hands around his waist. He was a bit chilly from the wind, but otherwise comfortable. I was almost tempted to set my head on his back, but I figured he would yell at me for it.
I jumped when he fired up the bike. It roared loudly and honestly frightened me.
"Nothing to be scared of, jumpy" he chuckled but soon realized what he said was wrong; He felt my arms let go of him
"Woah woah woah, where are you going?"
"I... I'm sorry for jumping!! I-I'll just go-"
"No, you don't have to go!" The man started to get frantic for some reason. "It's my fault for not warning you! Just... stay on? Please?"
I nervously bit my lip, honestly weighing my options. My arms slowly slipped back around his waist and held on
"I'm gonna pull out of here, ok? Just hold on and don't freak out..." he paused, like he was waiting for an answer.
"O-oh uh- yea!! I understand!" I quickly spoke up
The man pulled the bike upright, picked up his feet, and sped down the road. I squeaked and clung to him like my life depended on it... which it kind of did.
My life was in this mans hands and he was speeding down the road in the cold.
