Seven

Lena yawned while lounging on the sofa uninterested in what's actually on the television. Her thoughts were wrapped around Zane. The weekend was already over and Zane and her father had yet to return. Mikalia's words swirled in her head.

She had watched him closely these past five years. What secret could be hidden in his past that would warrant heaven to kill him. What should she do? she couldn't stand against God, but how could she forsake Zane? If what Mikalia has said is true she may just have to pick a side soon.

"Hey! Now is the absolute worse time to be spacing out!"

Lena sat up quickly to find Mikalia standing in the living room.

"H-how did you get in my..." Lena started.

"Nevermind that, we have to get to Zane and fast! Where is he!?" Mikalia yelled.

"Back up. A couple of things. One, I don't know exactly where they went. Two, stop yelling? Oh and three, stop. Coming. To. My. House!"

Mikalia took a couple of deep breaths calming herself. "Zane is in big trouble, we don't have time for twenty questions."

"Then we make time. Trouble you said? What kind of trouble?" Lena folded her arms.

"The kind that is even worse than what broke your arm."

"That thing didn't break my arm. I did that by not bracing myself for the shock of impact."

"Regardless. We are running out if time."

"If you are having fun at my expense then..."

"I assure you she is not." Another voice interrupted

Both girls turned to the new intruder with the feminine body of a black humanoid dragon. Mikalia sucked her teeth.

"Ranma." Mikalia says through her teeth. Then she whispered to Lena. "Don't take her lightly. Go all out."

"Oh, you know who I am human?" Ranma replied not recognizing Mikalia in her human form as few have ever seen it.

"I don't care who you are but you've picked the wrong house and its gonna cost you your life." Lena took off her sling and then her splint and flexed it around a bit. "Good enough for now."

"Where is the boy?" Ranma demanded. "Tell me and your deaths will be quick."

"The only death today will be yours." Lena replied with sharp deadly eyes.

Taking advantage of Lena's distraction, Mikalia picked up the couch and tossed it. Ranma swatted it away but was caught by a dropkick from a concealed Lena who pushed her through the door.

Scrambling, Lena quickly found and equipped her gauntlets. Then she rushed outside behind Mikalia. Ranma rose back to her feet and dusted herself off angrily.

"Your lives are forfeit."

Lena was the first to engage per her M.O., leading with her left instead of her usual southpaw stance. She was able to showcase an incredible acceleration that made her almost disappear and land a clean left cross to Ranma's cheek.

It surprised Ranma that humans had grown so strong as she was lifted off her feet and sent careening into a street light knocking it over.

"W-where'd you get such power and speed?" Mikalia asked astonished.

Lena smirked. "Consider this level two. just wait till i get heated up and unlock level 10."

"Humans." Ranma walked closer seemingly haven't taken any damage. "You truly are fascinating creatures. Pathetic but fascinating."

Lena went back in for round two with her serious face on. Going slightly faster than before with the same attack. Ranma swiped with her tail which Lena caught with her bare hands, but the force from the swing was just too great.

Before she realized it she came off her feet and was being ragdolled through the air. Mikalia was quick to catch her. After placing her feet back down on the ground, Lena rubbed her right arm gauging if she would be able to use full power in it.

"You know you could probably help me out here. Aren't you the Devil's kid?" Lena whispered.

"I can't. If i were to use my powers Hell would know I'm helping the enemy. They would try to overthrow my dad for treason."

"What kind of horse shit is that?" Lena questioned still whispering.

"For now I can only fight at your level."

"You insinuating I'm weak?"

"What are we gossiping about girls?" Ranma was suddenly behind them.

The two jumped from arm's length of her. "To hell with this. Mikalia we don't have the luxury of you playing the fence. Follow my lead and please back me up."

Lena's reaction speed saved her from being impaled by Ranma's scaly tail. She expertly spun on her toes and kicked at Ranma who blocked it. Mikalia seized the moment to run up and bat her away with the street light that was broken earlier.

Ranma brushed it off like she was hit with a mere twig and in the next second, she was pinning Mikalia to the wall. "Something feels familiar about you human."

Lena came sliding underneath Ranma, taking her legs from underneath her in the process. Ranma adjusts and with her tail launched Lena into the attic. Before she could give pursuit she was tackled through the front wall by Mikalia and thrown through the back wall into the backyard. Ranma's tail wrapped around Mikalia's ankle, dragging her along for the ride.

Lena crashed through the back window the attic, flipping through the air and stomping down on Ranma with both feet. Ranma responded with an uppercut that Lena was too slow to react to, knocking her in the air. With Mikalia still wrapped in her tail, Ranma threw her at a falling Lena.

The two girls quickly shook off that last attack and launched another offensive from opposite sides. Lena punched Ranma square in the jaw, now back in her powerful southpaw stance. Before Ranma could return fire, Mikalia kicked her behind the knee dropping her down to one.

Mikalia went for another but Ranma caught it and swung her like a club at Lena. Lena slid under Mikalia's body, turned on a dime and thrust her knee forward aimed at Ranma's face. Ranma caught it just barely but it was a feint. Soon as ranma left herself open, Lena connected with a haymaker.

Lena leaned deep into the attack pushing Ranma into the dirt. Ranma slammed her tail down barely missing Lena who had jumped out of the way. Mikalia jumped over Ranma's torso and spiked her tail in place with a metal pipe.

Ranma exploded with rage causing a literal explosion to blow both girls away. "Enough! You filthy humans just continue to piss me off. Now you shall know true terror."

Lena, not one to back down, accepted the challenge racing to met her target head-on. But Ranma was done playing with her food. She conjured a small orb of a deep purple hue with her fingertip and flicked it.

It missed but landed on the ground next to Lena. It expanded in a circle and shot upwards with Lena trapped inside the small zone. Lena crumbled yelling out in pain, her body crackling from the dark energy destroying her.

Distracted Mikalia turns towards her temporary partner. "Lena!?"

Mikalia's body jerked. She looked down to see she had been impaled by Ranma's tail. Then she was tossed aside like trash. She struggled to move but her body had quickly turned to cement.

Ranma knelt beside a Lena who was in agonizing pain. "You were more of a pain in the ass than I wished you to be. Now tell me. Where is the boy who killed my brother?"

Lena lifted her head. Through the pain, she smiled. "That ugly green thing was your brother? I can sort of see the family resemblance."

Ranma created another orb, flicking it into the circle. Lena shrieked from the new level of intensity shooting through her, boiling her blood. Still, Lena gritted her teeth and tried to bare it.

"Tell me. Where is the other one? Tell me then you have my permission to die."

A gunshot rang through the air before a bullet of pure light obliterated Ranma's arm and pierced the veil trapping Lena. Five more hit various places on the veil causing it to shatter like cheap glass. Lena's screams halted, being replaced with Ranma's. They both looked in the direction the shell came from. In the distance stood Zane.

Zane stepped from the ledge of the neighboring roof and completely vanished. Then reappeared kicking Ranma away. The force was so strong Ranma couldn't stop herself from being swept away.

Lena's father came to the back from the hole made in the house. He checked on his daughter first.

"Lena! Are you ok honey?"

"Just a little...w-winded, Papa." She weakly responds trying to lift herself.

"I got you, my daughter." Leon turned to Zane. "You can handle this, while I see to her?"

Zane nodded and disappeared in a flash once more. Another figure appeared from the wreckage of the house. Leon handed Lena to the hooded woman. They both looked in the direction Zane had just dashed in.

"The growth of his abilities is impossible. Its as if he isn't human anymore." The woman said.

"He was never really human to begin with. And that's a blessing.

As they start to leave Leon notices a large pool of blood and goes to investigate. His investigation leads him to a tree at the far corner of the yard that was smeared in blood. He touched it. It was still wet. It definitely couldn't have been from Lena. Whoever it came from couldn't have survived with this much loss.

"But where is the body?" He pondered softly to himself.
