Chapter 5- "Become my wife!"

"Are we getting close to the top already?" I asked while wiping away my sweat.

"We still have about half an hour left till the top. There is a restroom up ahead in about five minutes, so we will stop there for a bit to freshen up before continuing to ascend."

"We already climbed for around an hour....how tall is this thing?! Don't you have an elevator?"

"An ele-what?"

"Never mind, forget what I asked"

"Oh, here! You see this door? The restroom is inside it."

"Thank goodness...."

After an hour and a half of climbing stairs I was drenched in sweat. The only reason I haven't passed out yet is because of having stamina of 70, which is very good for a level one. In contrast to me, Rei-San hasn't even broken a sweat, and she is caring a huge sword!

I wonder if there is a thing in this world were everything has to be huge....

Finally we reached the restroom (not like bathroom but more literal in sense) and headed in to rest.

The inside of the room was also mainly furniture curved inside the tree, but they were covered with fine fabrics, fluffy pillows and pictures. In two of the corners of the room were doors, one with the word 'men' curved on, and one with the word 'women'.

"This are the bathrooms, you can wash up inside in the bath. Oh, and just so you know, there is magic on the doors preventing you from entering the bathroom of the other sex, so don't get any ideas!"

Who would want to peek on you?

Entering the bathroom for 'men' I took another angry glance at Rei, and shut the door behind me.

The bathroom was a lot better then I expected for a world without elevators. It is similar to the ones at my world except for the fact that everything is made out of wood. There's a sink and a tap built into a counter that was curved inside the wall, and above it there's a big mirror.

According to what Rei said on the way up, mirrors are a luxury in this world. That means that the village chief must be quite powerful and rich!

Before washing up in the shower that I found behind a curtain, I will go wash my face and hands from the sweat... Going towards the mirror, I realized something was wrong.

Why do I look like my 15 years old self again? Didn't my [Status Window] say that I'm still 18 years old in this world?



In order to check, I once again opened the status window, but there was no mistake. It still says that I am 18 years old.

So why do I look so young? This doesn't make sense!

Realizing there was nothing I could do about it, I decided to research it later on and for now headed for the bath.

The bath water were warmed up to the perfect degree, probably by magic, and were relaxing and refreshing. Entering the water, I could feel every muscle in my body relax instantly, which made me "ohhhh" like an old person.

After about half an hour a knock was heard on the door, and Rei voice telling me to 'hurry up and get out' was heard. With no other choice I left the comfort of the bath, dressed, and headed out.

Thankfully, the bathroom had a magic appliance that worked like a washing machine, making my clothes clean and good smelling again, and it did it in less then five minutes. The greatness of magic is really shown here!

Waiting for me in the restroom, was Rei. Although she seemed more relaxed then before, she still looked at me impatiently.

"Come on! I still have things to do after escorting you up!"

"Escorting? Don't you have something else you need to do there?"

"Of course not! What more could I possibly have to do here except escorting you?"

"Are you saying that you climbed all of those stairs just to escort me, and once were up you will leave and descend all this stairs?!"

I looked at her with shock.

Maybe I don't like her but this is too much! It's three hours of stairs in the total up and down!

"Stop staring and let's go already!"

I took one last look at the room and headed out.

Half an hour later we finally reached the top, and once again we stood in front of a huge door.

"Do you remember what I told you at the bottom of the staircase?" She asked.

I nodded.

"Great! Then I am leaving you here. Good luck!"

As she said that she suddenly jumped down the middle of the tree. Horrified I looked at this act, when suddenly she stopped in midair, looked back at me and chuckled.

She made fun of me again! She totally did that just to see me reaction! I'm getting tired of doing tsukkomi all the time...huh...I give up already....

Standing in front of the door, I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Yes, come on in! I'll be with you in a second!" A voice said from behind the door.

It was a calming voice, that was clear and easy on the ear but husky at the same time. Just from this I can tell that the voice probably belongs to a very handsome man.

"Then I'm coming in!"

My own voice isn't as nice sounding as the mans voice but I can sing not badly.

Upon entering the room I see a simple looking (almost modern) apartment. Aside from what you can tell are high grade fabrics and carpets, it really wasn't much different then the restroom, with a combination of the room I woke up in. Basic furniture, a big window, two couches and some art.

"You can seat yourself on one of the couches, I'll be right there!"

Choosing the one next to the window, I looked out while waiting.

This view is definitely worth the climb. I think this is the highest place I probably been to...

There doesn't seem to be a sea near by, but there are a few huge lakes. A strong breeze

Blow by the window and a giant bird suddenly flew by it. From the surprise I got up very fast, and lost my balance falling through the open window.

I'm gonna die!!!! I don't want to die again!!!

I screamed in my head and closed my eyes ready to feel my feet leave the floor below them and the body to hit the ground that's more the 400 meters down.

"You should be more carful, what would I do if you died in my care?"

Instead of my feet leaving the ground, a voice was whispered in my ear while my body was embraced in the warm hug of the owner of the voice. The voice was somehow familiar now that I hear it up closely....

I opened my eyes, the realization that I was saved from death washed all over my body and I shivered.

"Are you ok? This was a close call" he asked me worriedly.

"Yeah, thank you. This was very close...." My voice trembled a bit.

"Do you want me to let you go now that you are safe?"

Suddenly realizing that I'm still in the embrace of the man I blushed and nodded.

As he let go of me I turned to finally see the face of the village chief and my savior.

He was most definitely the most beautiful man I have ever seen!!!! His eyes were green like the greenest leaves of a tree and had wisdom and playfulness in them, his hair was long, white, silk like and fell perfectly on his celebrity like face, his skin was clear and fair like the sun can't damage it at all, and he was oozing confidence and power.

How can someone possibly underestimate this guy? I recalled Rei's warning.

Seeing that I was awed by his looks, a playful look flushed in his eyes.

"Why won't you become my wife? I would love it if you look at me like that every day" he grinned.

"Sorry what? I think I heard you wrong..."

"I asked you to become my wife"

"Something must be wrong with my hearing...did you just ask me to marry you?"

"Yeah. Is there a problem?"

"I don't even know what your name is..."

"It's Deai Wuxian, now marry me!"

"What? No! I don't know you!"

"Then date me first"

I really want to face palm right now...

"So, what do you say? Will you date me?"

"I really can't date you either..."

"Why?"

"I'm not gay"

"So?"

"Do you even know my name?"

"It's Earth Orwin-kun right?"

"Oh, yes...but I really can't date you since I'm not gay, I only like girls!"

"You will get used to it, I'm much better!"

This really calls for a tsukkomi...
