Chapter 26- Arriving To Leas Town

Earth POV:

After three more days of constant walking we arrived to our first town, Leas Town. The town was surrounded by tall walls and guards stood near the huge wooden gates in the walls. Near the entrance was a line of people entering the town and a line for exiting it.

"The guards are going to ask us questions, like why are we visiting the town, how long we will stay and such. Just let me answer them, ok?"

We joined the back of the line and that gave me time to inspect the crowd. To my surprise, we were the only ones dressed in a yukata. Some wore armors, some cloaks with hoods, here and there were even some pretty revealing clothes, covering only the basic parts. It seems like everyone here dress according to their jobs, warriors, magicians, travelers, musicians and such.

How can she wear something so revealing?

I thought that as I looked at a woman with a lush body dressed in a very revealing dress, covering only a part of her chest and her crouch. As I was observing her, I felt a stabbing stare coming from my side and a big hand grabbed my shoulder, making me jump in surprise. I turned to look at Wu, sensing danger.

"So this is your type in women?"

Wu asked that with a big smile on his face, which only added to the sense of danger.

"No, of course not."

"So..what is your type?"

Although answering will probably give me a lot of trouble, not answering will also be bad right now.

"I prefer more innocent, funny and nice girls...."

"Ho? Really?"

As he said that, his face drew closer to mine, stoping only a few centimeters away from it and forcing me to look him right in the eyes. I shivered, afraid of what might happen, but before anything could happen, the guard called us to walk up to him, as we were next it line. Wu clicked his tongue in displeasure, released me, backing away while grabbing my hand instead, and then dragged me to the guard who called us. When we arrived at the guard's box, the guard didn't even lift his gaze from his desk and just spoke to us with a flat, uninterested tone. The only thing he did was stretch his hand out the window.

"I need you identification papers please."

Wu took out some documents from his magic bag and handed them to the guard's stretched hand. The guard pulled his hand back and opened the documents. After looking through it for a minute, his eyes opened wide and his head shot up, taking a better look at us.

"Mr. Deai, I'm extremely sorry if I offended you, I didn't think anyone of your caliber will be visiting our humble town..."

The man seemed truly excited as well as scared at the appearance of Wu.

"That's ok."

Wu answered him in an elegance I have not seen him show for a long time.

He almost look normal. But you know, fool me once, fool me twice...

"May I ask sir, what is the purpose of your visit?"

"Of course you can. I'm here to buy some basic scrolls for my---"

He paused, seemingly unsure how to introduce me.

"His student, sir."

I intervened before he could label me as his wife or the likes. Wu gave me a displeased look before continuing to talk with the guard.

"Thank you sir. Will you be giving a visit to our guild sir?"

"I'll think about it. Is Rush-Sama in the guild now? I heard she just returned from a long journey to the demon-human border."

"She indeed returned, but I heard that Rush-Sama and Maya-Sama are having a fight, so it's best to not disturb her."

"Oh, that's too bad, they are a great couple after all, I hope they will work this out."

Hearing their conversation I felt a little left out.

Who are Rush-Sama and Maya-Sama?

"Me too. Now, for the entrance you have to pay 1 silver coin eac- Oh!? Isn't that Rush-Sama at the gate?"

"Speak of the demon, and the demon comes."

Looking toward the gate, a figure of a female seemed to be approaching us and apparently hearing Wu's comment she retorted.

"Who are you calling a demon, you good for nothing elf?"

"You of course, you demonic woman.... Wait, If you're here, who's running the demon land?"

Huh? Is it her job to run the demon land?

"Clever, but you know, even people who are good for nothing like you can bring a smile to my face - once I shove them down the stairs, that is."

"Well, with you it's always all strength and no brains, right? I wouldn't expect anything more sophisticated from you."

What is happening?

"Well smart-ass, did you know Light travels faster than sound? This is why people like you appear bright- until they open their mouths."

Nice burn! But really....what's going on here?!

"Well that was a strangely clever thing for you to say."

"I can explain it to you again, but I don't think I can really help you understand."

"If at first you don't succeed, stop trying already. You're probably dumb."

"Great mantra, you should really listen to it."

After this exchange, both suddenly started laughing loudly. I just stood on the side, forgotten and confused at the events that were unfolding before me. While they were laughing, I could finally take a proper look at the woman. She's tall, around 180 centimeters, with tanned golden skin, long bright red and wild hair, lush body and dressed in a golden armor like the ones the Romans wore. She seemed to be around 30 years old and still in the prime of her beauty.

I wonder if people grow older slower here, in terms of appearance.

After they stopped laughing they began talking again.

"It's good to see you, Rush-Sama. How have you been?"

"It's good to see you too, Wu-San. I've been alright, you know how it is here."

"Yeah. I heard you just returned from the border. What's the situation over there?"

"Oh, it was just a routine check-up, it was as calm as ever. Ever since the demon princess was crowned, things seem to go more smoothly."

"Oh. I'm glad to hear that."

Rush-Sama suddenly noticed me standing behind Wu, and looked surprised.

"Oh, hello, I didn't see you there. I'm sorry, were we holding the line?"

"Ah, umm..."

I was surprised at the sudden attention and didn't respond well.

"It's fine, he's with me."

A look of shock flashed through Rush-Sama's face before disappearing as if it was never there.

"He's with you? What are you doing with such a cute little boy?"

"I'm not that little, I'm 18."

"Oh, I see."

She smiled at me warmly. For some reason that annoyed me, felt like she was making fun of me.

"Rush-Sama, let me introduce you. This is Earth, the man I'll definitely marry one day."

I snapped.

"Says you! I never agreed!"

"Hahaha, he's a feisty one, ain't he?"

"You have no idea..."

Oi! Stop talking about me like I'm not here!

"Did you have sex already?"

"Yes."

Why is that question coming up so soon?!?!

"Was he good?"

"Well he wa-"

"HEY! STOP TALKING ABOUT ME LIKE I'M NOT HERE!!!!"

I finally snapped, cutting their conversation short. I wasn't going to let them discuss my worth in bed publicly like that.

"Ok, ok, relax. Don't be so straight laced. We were just joking, right Wu-San?"

"Of course. It was only a joke, please don't get mad..."

"Really? Cause to me, it sounded like you were about to talk about my worth in bed IN PUBLIC with a woman who is a stranger to me. Why are you even sharing such private stuff with this woman while I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE IS?!"

I was truly offended. I could feel my heart squeeze in pain and my eyes blur from tears threatening to stream out. Seeing this Wu showed an almost scared expression on his face, looking at Rush-Sama for help. She just shook her head and waved her hand hurrying him to comfort me. I was trying hard to hold back the tears as I was looking down, wanting to hide my face.

I wish I had a something to hide my face with right now.

Just as I was thinking this, a cloak with a hood was placed on my body, hiding my face, a big hand was placed on my shoulder and a man's deep voice was heard.

"This is how you treat your lover Wuxian? And you can't even comfort him after hurting him? You should be ashamed. You don't deserve such a cute lover."

"YOU?! What are YOU doing here?!"

"Can't I go to wherever I want?"

"It doesn't matter. Remove your hand from him right this second!"

"I don't think so. Such a cute boy should be with someone better than you, someone like me."

"How are you better than me?!"

"For starters, I don't offend my lovers."

After that there was a small silence. Wu, who could not deny the man's accusation, was left speechless and frustrated. The man who was standing behind me now moved to my front, bending over and lifting the hood just enough so that I could see his face. He was extremely handsome with golden bright eyes, perfect milky skin, long black and silky hair and a big kind smile on his face. His whole air radiated kindness and warmth, unlike Wu.

"Hey, how about I'll take you to eat something sweet and tasty? Does that sound good to you?"

I don't know what came over me, but the warm look in this stranger's eyes just made me nod my head in agreement, without thinking.

"Hey guard, this man will pay for us, so let us in."

He pointed at Wu and the guard, who seemed to suddenly dislike Wu, let us pass without paying, holding Wu back instead. The kind looking man smiled at me another dazzling smile before taking one of my hands, placing it in his own and leading me through the gate. His warm hand felt comfortable and made me feel safe, pushing any feelings of guilt I had for leaving Wu behind. Since I already passed the check and Wu was paying the entrance for the both of us, there was no problem getting in.

"Oi, Earth! Don't go with him! He's dangerous! Come on, listen to me, I'm really sorry about what I did, so please, don't go with him."

Wu called after us, trying to make me come back, but his voice was soon swallowed by the distance and the sounds of the busy main street we entered.
