Death, is a sensitive, and an overly mysterious topic that anyone could always talk about in wonder, as much as the majority of people wanted to live longer than the average human life span of 60 to 85 years (even younger). 

Everyone would have different views on it, mostly ripping the scales on the negative scales as it rather snatch away something that could never be brought or bought back—a life.

But then there's Chione, a reincarnated, broken soul. 

Dying from the hands of the family that annhilated her whole clan, pretty much a few seconds after the most important person in her life died in front of her, she lost pretty much, her whole heart, soul, and sanity.

Even if she managed to live from that incident,  history would just repeat itself rather sooner than later.

Anyways, she got reincarnated into another world with a large part of her missing. And even if she is indeed reincarnated, the memories, and her consciousness from her previous life remained with her—it almost pushed her to the brink of insanity.

Good thing, the family she was born into is a loving one, albeit strange.

Later on, she'd discover that they were something unphantomable in human eyes, and that they kill, for a living.

Thrown in a fray full of irony, she found herself blending in well, and in the process of those misadventures, she realized the meaning of existing, death, and what it means to live.

Okay, so this is my first story here in webnovel, and, I'm already warning you guys, if ever there's someone reading this out there, that do not expect great things from me.

And also, this is an original fiction, the plot, characters, et cetera et cetera are mine, except if I stated otherwise, I do know how to properly credit someone.

What it Means to Live

» Chronos - a world filled with chaos due to creatures that were the first ones who lived there. Those creatures are labeled as "Shadows" for they usually move at night, or move through the darkness surrounding the said planet. There are four continents in Chronos: Prima, Doilea, Trei, and Piata. The story took place in Doilea, the only continent that is surrounded by water.


» Chronos was once a beautiful planet where creatures, now called Shadows, live harmoniously. They were not what they are at the current era, for they evolved in order to adapt to environmental changes and also to defend themselves from humans who invaded their world. A war between humanity and the Shadows happened a century ago that destroyed most of Chronos' natural resources, thus, the Shadows turned corrupted and 'evil' in the eyes of humanity.


» Prima - as the name suggests, this continent is the biggest and the most flourishing continent of all four continents. Its east side, consisting of two countries: Uno and Cinco, is attached to Trei's head country: Lumia. Prima is the most peaceful of all four countries, but the nature here is extremely destroyed due to human technology and infrastructural innovations. It has seven countries, Uno, Dame, Lacrea, Shiro, Nero, Ciste, and Cinco, with Nero as the head country. 


» Doilea - also called as "lone continent" due to the fact that out of the four continents, it is the only one who's completely surrounded by water, and is located at the other side of Chronos. The natural resources here is the biggest among the four continents because of the fact that the leaders there greatly value the environment, and it is also surrounded by unpolluted water, greatly contributing to the beauty of the continent. It has four big countries: Clandestine, Siphiro, Papyro, and Cyan with Siphiro being the head country. 


» Trei - the desert country. Filled with vast amounts of fossil fuel and rare mines that it could be considered as the richest country. However, Prima still got them beat at that concept, for Prima knew how to use the resources from Trei, better than the continent itself. It also has four countries, but are considerably smaller than those of Doilea, namely Lumia, Thanea, Argos, and Lagro


» Piata - the smallest and the poorest continent of all the four continents and is in South East of Trei, and South West of Prima. It has five small countries, namely Phina, Shu, Illya, Quian, and Ohr.
