Awake

*JASE POV

It feels like I'm drowning. I can sense my strength returning to me. I'm alive?

I can't breathe.

I pound my fist on the floor feeling my vision fading again.

*gasp

I could suddenly breathe again as if the oxygen was placed here just in time.

Opening my eyes fully what welcomes me is a world of white.

'It's bright,' I thought.

This...is not the hospital. Could this be the afterlife?

Only plain white? I did believe in reincarnation but I never thought that there'd be a life after death.

Caught up in my own thoughts I begin to wonder around aimlessly for an unknown amount of time.

...

"What the hell. There's nothing here... Don't tell me that it'll stay this way forever?" I say to myself.

I stop walking thinking that it would be pointless to do so anymore and sit down to recollect my thoughts.

I remember John.

"Did he make it out okay?" I ask myself.

Thinking up to this point I recall a promise I made to someone back home.

"Claire..."

My parents also. How are they feeling?

I couldn't make it back home for her birthday. But I'm glad that I wrote that letter before my final mission.

I clench my fist.

"I want to see them again."

It was at this moment that I heard a female voice breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Good morning Jase." The voice says.

Quickly standing up I respond to the voice warily, "Who are you?"

The voice responds, "I am pixel XXXX sent here to guide you."

"Guide me?"

"Yes"

We both go silent.

...

It seems as if she won't respond unless I ask her something. I have many questions and judging by the situation then I can take all the time in the world.

"Then pixel..." I say before being interrupted.

"Pixel XXXX."

I furrow my brows. It seems like we have one of those types here.

"Umm... I don't think I can remember a number that long. Mind if I just call you pixel?" I ask.

"...That is fine J." The voice answers back.

This bi-...woman.

*Phew

Taking a deep breathe I calm myself down for my next question.

"Then pixel... What did you mean when you said that you were sent here to guide me? and who was it that sent you?"

In a situation like this I can only think of one type of being that would send an anomaly to me. That person being God. It wouldn't be so far fetched to believe so after going through all this and hearing what pixel has said until now.

Pixel responds, "It's as you thought, that God was the one who sent me here. I am also here to help you along your way in creating Your Heaven."

"My Heaven?" I ask surprised at the phrase of 'Your Heaven,' ignoring the fact that she knew what I was thinking.

"Yes, your heaven."

"Heaven as in living on clouds and rainbows?"

"Pfft... If that is your idea of heaven then it can be. Is that your ideal heaven? J?"

She's mocking me. It's a little embarrassing being treated like a child and what's wrong with that idea? Many people think of heaven as sunshine and rainbows. But... I always thought something like that would be boring.

"No, it isn't. Then what do you mean by ideal heaven?"

"Simple. Heaven is not one place but many. Every person who meets the requirement for heaven will be sent here to a similar domain and given a guide just like me. Heaven is to say... just like a good dream, whatever you want it to be but there are limits. You can travel to your dream world or relax on the clouds BUT! You will not be handed everything on a silver plate. A lot of things are to be earned yourself if you are traveling to different worlds but don't worry, you will of course have lots of advantages being that you are creating your ideal heaven."

Travel? Then wouldn't that mean that there are other life forms on planets besides earth? We are not alone after all...

"What kind of other planets are out there?" I ask.

"Anything you want. From actual planets in your universe or even made up ones from your world like anime or comics."

"What? Those worlds exists?"

"Yes and no. They do not currently exists but if it is part of your ideal heaven then they will be created."

"Then how about... planet earth?"

"That is impossible due to limits that there cannot be another identical planet to one that already exists. You can also not travel back as the moment you died a barrier was set to refuse you from entering again."

Then... I won't be able to see them again. I had hopes hearing about travelling but like she said, 'there are limits.'

Not willing to give up I ask, "If i can't go back then is there really no other way to contact the people there anymore?"

Pixel stays silent for a moment before answering, "You cannot contact them because any information about heaven must not be exposed but... If someone cherishes you enough that when they pass away and wants to join you as part of their ideal heaven, then you can be reunited."

If that is the case then I might be able to meet them again but if not... then it can only mean their happiness is elsewhere. I can't be mad at them for that but should in fact be happy.

I cover my eyes with my hand.

"Pixel, are there ninjas cutting onions here?"

"No Jase, there are no ninjas in this dimension."

'Crap.' was my thought.
