An attack on the house - I

When he turned away and made her face his back Evelyn could not help but frown.

What was that? Why did he turn?

"Um?" She cleared her throat, "Good night, then?"

She did not know if he wanted her to continue talking to his back.

He gave her a sharp nod and Evelyn stared at him incredulously. Really? She was going to be dismissed just like that?

She gave a silent scoff before moving out of the kitchen. Fine, then.

Evelyn moved out of the kitchen without a word when she heard the loud sound of glass breaking making her gasp loudly. Before she knew it, her body met with the ground and the impact knocked the air out of her lungs.

Evelyn felt a heavy load on top of her, squeezing her to the ground. The heavy weight on how did not allow Evelyn to move at all.

It was then a hand came over her head, keeping it stilled and kept it against the ground. Her cheek bore the impact.
