Evelyn realised that he had every other reason with himself to rely on her concerns to the concerned family members. 

By that time I would have realised that Lucas had already turned around and started to clear the dishes away into the dishwasher.

Sighted in confliction, she just went back to eat her food which was now cold but left a horrible taste in her mouth but respecting it, Evelyn wiped the plate clean before placing it into the dishwasher. 

By the time she did that Lucas was already gone. Evelyn went back to her room before she realised that this was the apartment of someone else and she was supposed to get her stuff from upstairs where she had been attached last night.
