The wretched people - I

The familiar houses that Evelyn had seen growing up almost everyday appeared and she knew that they were near her father's house.

An unsettling feeling settled inside her chest as she realised that they were still in the house of the man that they would not think twice before stabbing in the back.

All her Uncles stayed at her father's house while she was paying the bills. Evelyn remembered very clearly that she had given the house help the word to go away. She had also paid them three months in advance and she told them that she would no longer be paying them because their services were no longer required for her which meant that they were exploiting the workers or the workers were being paid, hopefully, by her uncle and answers.

She knew for sure that her aunts were not going to cook and clean.
