A little girl - I

Salvatore hissed at the sudden stamp that he felt underneath his foot. He looked at what it was before he gritted his teeth and cursed, "fu—"

Before he could complete the word, he caught bright blue eyes speaking at him from the side.

"—udge." He completed it.

Looking back at the small piece of Lego, he pushed it away with his fort.

Salvatore kept looking at the little girl before narrowing his eyes at her. "Why are you out of your bedroom?"

She had been purposely given the room that was next to Evelyn so that he would not have to see much of her and not only him but everyone else as well.

That was one way to keep a small girl safe when the world did not know about her.

The little girl kept on staring at him with huge eyes and before blinking them, "Mumma?"

Her voice was so soft that it felt like he was in a trance when he heard it at first.

Mumma? She had asked. "She got hurt, the doctors are fixing her up."
