Nicki's Quince (4)

She petted the spot next to her for John to sit on and he did. She leaned against his shoulders and he smirked teasing her, "Jian there are people around." She laughed a little before saying, "Relax, I just feel a bit tired since I stayed up late yesterday to work on the suit." He frowned saying, "Jian you know you don't have to stay up just to work that thing. I would like it if you rest rather than stress."Jian smiled responding with, "I will I promise."

John got an idea so he asked, "Do you wanna do something fun tomorrow?"

"What do you have in mind?" She said before eating. He smiled, answering, "There is a new movie coming about that show you mentioned before, we can go watch that." She thought for a few seconds before asking, "Is it a cartoon?" He nodded and she smiled asking, "The new cartoon about the Addams family?"

"Yup, the reviews aren't bad and it's not long, you wanna go?" He asked and she thought before sighing. "I would love to go, but I have to ask my mother." She said and took a deep breath. John asked, "What if we ask together, I can help persuade her?" Jian smiled brightly, nodding and saying, "Yes, that would be perfect, plus you seem to get along with my mother."

He nodded bringing up another topic by asking, "Jian what are you doing for the summer anyways?"

She smiled getting up and gathering the plastics as she said, "I am not sure, I might be going on a trip with mother, or doing more work and creating a plan with mother while working on the business plan and doing research. How about you?"

"I am going to be following my uncle since my father is leaving for about 6 months in late May on another trip to build a branch in India. I was hoping to spend time with you since I am going to be so bored, plus you have a fashion business to start and I wanna help." He said as they walked out of the room and towards the hall after throwing the trash away. She nodded saying, "That would be fun, and I also need a photographer for the shop."

He nodded as they carried on with their conversation. Their conversation was only stopped when Nick came searching for them to let them know that they should start heading down. They followed Nick's advice and continued their conversation.

"So you're telling me that you aren't going to college?" She asked, confused. He nodded, saying, "Ya cause to me college isn't necessary, because I am already working with my father and I don't really see a point in returning for education." Jian nodded, processing the explanation. He smiled asking, "Are you upset because you thought I would go?"

"Oh no, I am not upset, I just thought people have to go to college to have more knowledge, but then again I guess my thoughts were too naive," she said, frowning a bit. John chuckled before saying, "That idea is usually what most people are led to so it's not naive of you to think that way, don't feel bad just because your ideals are different from mine." He paused before whispering to her, "Plus, the school wasn't the best for me, ya know." She smiled nodding as she remembered what he said about his previous academy life.

"Anyways, your friend surely loves herself," John commented as they walked out of the elevator. The halls were filled with cardboard cutouts of Nick all pointing toward a certain direction. She wore a different dress in each one. Jian smiled saying, "She does and it's wonderful."

The two spoke quietly following the signs as they reached the large opened double doors. The doors lead to an enormous ballroom and people mingled around as Jian and John found their seats. It was near the dance floor with some of Jian's friends already there.

She smiled as John and her friends introduced themselves. They were holding a conversation when the music started to play. It was the cue for everyone to stop standing around and get to their seats. Jian smiled waiting in anticipation but Nicki wasn't the one who walked in. They were her parents and then the people from Nicki's court, each one doing a different pose as they entered, and finally, Nicki entered in this beautiful big violet ball gown that was filled with layers of fabric.

Her walk was graceful as she walked in slowly and the music changed, William held her hands as he let her be the centerpiece, walking behind her a bit. It was beautiful and as she stopped a mic was passed to Nicki who spoke for a few minutes before passing it to her parents. They greeted the guest, thanked them for their presence at their daughter's quince, and started the dinner.
