I belong to the prestigious profession of chroniclers. We are not often in the limelight and the majority of the public doesn't even understand what we do. No, we are not authors, poets or artists. Nor are we journalists, novelists or screenwriters. We are chroniclers! Sigh. My lowest point was when I was once mistaken as a scribe at a symposium! Disgusting!
Anyway, what I'm about to record is the most compelling, thrilling, fulfilling, chilling and sometimes painkilling retelling of the events in the life of a coward. "What? A coward? What monumental history could come of them?", you ask. Well, for one thing, the world is full of them! You can find them on the streets. At your school. Sitting next to you at work. Living with you in your home. Even reading this text right now.
"Me?", you ask. Yes, it just might be you. "No way!", you respond. But hold on I say, don't speak too fast! Let us first get to understand what a coward is. A coward is someone lacking the ability to do the dangerous things they ought to do. It's being, in a more polite term, risk-averse. Simple as that. When was the last time you took a risk? How many risks do you take per day? So are you a coward?
Experiencing a mental breakdown right now? Well, don't forward me your psychologist bills. Chronicling doesn't pay too well and you are not what we are here for! Peter is who we are here for. These are his chronicles.
