Chapter 3

Bakugou was still stuck in thought as he was walking to the dorm rooms. He walked through the doors below the big class sign where his class was waiting with big smiles on their faces.

"Congratulations!" They all yelled out while confetti bust into the air. Bakugou sat in shock.

"We heard about your position," Denki said.

"It's no big deal. Plus it's only for the stupid nerd. I didn't actually earn all of it. Plus, when all this is over they'll probably find someone else for the job."

"So? As of now, you're the number one hero. A position where All Might once was in. You should be proud of yourself."

"I guess so."

Bakugou didn't see the half and half bastard anywhere.

"I'm going to my room to think about things. I don't need your praise."

He trudged down the hallway and turned into his room. He threw his stuff onto the ground and jumped into his bed. He looked out of the bedroom window. The moonlight shone through the window. The bright moonlight obscured the sky until the light faded into a dark red. Black lightning sparked. Bakugou rushed to get out of bed and opened the window. He had to be here. It couldn't be anyone else. And surely, he was right.

He looked to the side where Deku was sitting on the window seal, black lightning in hand. Bakugou jumped back and slammed his body against the wall. "I hope you don't mind. Kacchan."He said looking over his shoulder.

"What are you doing here Deku?"

Deku looked at the sky.

"Just looking at the view. It's very beautiful. Blood moons truly are interesting, aren't they, Kacchan?" Bakugou didn't respond.

"I'll ask you again, What are you doing here?" Deku turned his body around and put his legs on the bedroom floor. He jumped off the window seal and into the dorm room.

"I see your tastes didn't change," Deku said, ignoring him. Deku walked up to his dresser where a flyer was set on top. Deku lifted up the flyer. Missing UA student. Midoriya Izuku. He sneered and put the picture back on the dresser. "I heard about your position. Congrats by the way. Number one hero huh? Looks like you finally got what you wanted."

"You have it all wrong, I only got this position because they wanted to get you back." Bakugou realized that he shouldn't have told him that they wanted to get him on our side, he had only given him the satisfaction. Deku grinned.

"Is that so? I must be pretty important then. But that's not going to happen. I appreciate the effort, though."

"How did you even know that I was the number one hero?"

"I have my ways."

"You know it's very interesting. The strong who are born with everything get what they want and those who aren't born with anything work to get what they want and put down by the strong. Seems unfair doesn't it?"

"What are you getting at?"

"Oh, nothing. It just popped up in my head is all."

"Well, I should probably go. I just wanted to go visit since I had business nearby. Tell the others I said hi." Deku stepped onto the window seal and turned to face Bakugou. "See you soon. Real soon." Deku stepped back and off of the window, facing him with a smile on his face.

Bakugou ran to the window and looked down where Deku had vanished.

Business? This was not going to be good.

Bakugou ran out of his room and into where everyone had been sitting. "Bad news. Deku's up to something and I don't think we want to see what he has up his sleeve."

Everyone jumped up. "We need to inform the pro heroes. Bakugou you need to do something. You're the only one that can do anything. We don't have permission to engage in battle, remember."

"I don't need you losers to tell me what to do. Deku's gonna regret messing with me."

Bakugou ran out of the building and into the school building where Eraserhead and a couple of the other teachers were, out of breath.

"It's Deku. He was in my dorm room. He said he "had some business to attend to". And I'm pretty sure this "business" is not something we want the citizens to be involved in. We need immediate help. I will be in the pursuit as well. This is not going to have the best outcome if we don't do anything soon."

The principal looked at Bakugou. "Very well then. Eraserhead, Midnight, 13, I will be sending you, along with Bakugou, to pursue Midoriya. If anything goes wrong, call for backup. We're counting on you all." Bakugou and the pro heroes all nodded and made their way to the door. The ground began to shake and rumble as sounds of explosions and thunder echo in the air. They all lost their balance and stumbled but regained their footing. They all looked at each other and ran out the doors into the city.

The moon was still crimson. The city was engulfed in black flames and black lighting. Nomus flew through the sky. Their brains poked out of the top of their heads as they flew down and attacked the citizens. "He has Nomus in his possession?" Bakugou asked, looking at all of the destruction Deku had brought.

"Even so, that will not stop us from capturing Midoriya. 13, Midnight, you will take care of the Nomus, we will engage in battle with Midoriya."

"Right!" Thirteen and Midnight began to fight the Nomus while Bakugou and Eraserhead looked for Deku in all of the havoc.

"Eraserhead. I think I know where Deku will be. If he's still in there I'm pretty sure I know where he would go."

"Okay take the lead. He better be there."

Bakugou and Eraserhead ran down the streets. Bakugou could feel the pressure getting deeper and sharper as he twisted and turned around the neighborhood streets. The lightning's crackling sparks got louder as they ran further. Bakugou turned the corner. He drifted to a stop when he saw Deku sitting on the shoulder of a Nomu. He had a clean long sleeve white shirt and a tie, what he saw him wearing earlier, but without the black vest on top. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his tie was loosely blowing in the wind.

"Long time no see, Aizawa-Sensei." He put his hand onto the Nomu and left one finger up. "I was wondering why you weren't at the ceremony before. I missed you." Deku put his last finger on the Nomu. Deku crumbled along with Nomu and appeared behind Eraserhead. "Just kidding." Deku threw his fist at Eraserhead but was stopped by Eraserhead's scarf. "Aww, I wanted to take you down with that one shot but I guess you won't let me do that now."

"I erased your quirk, this fight is over Midoriya." Deku smiled.

"Eraserhead, he has more than one quirk. Didn't you see before?" Bakugou told him.

"That's right. You should know your own limit. Do you think you will be able to erase all of them before you reach that limit?"

Deku punched Eraserhead in the stomach but Eraserhead didn't stagger. He wrapped his scarf around Deku. Deku kept smiling. He hadn't been giving much of a struggle so Eraserhead continued to punch him in the face.

"Eraserhead. Stop! It's no use!" Bakugou yelled. After continuous punches, Eraserhead stopped in his tracks. Deku's head hung down low, scraped and bruised. His body shook as he laughed. He lifted his head up with his sharp toothed grin. "Is that all you've got? You looked a lot stronger before when you were fighting at the USJ. To be honest it's quite disappointing."

Deku stepped backward and slipped through the tight brace of Eraser Head's scarf. Eraser head looked at Deku with an alarmed facial expression. "Impossible. How could Mirio..."

"Here's what you don't understand, Aizawa-Sensei. Heroes are blinded by power. I took away that power. The people without quirks are deemed useless in this rotten world. The useless don't have a place in this world. They don't belong. So I disposed of him."

An explosion was sent off into Deku's face, obstructing his vision. Bakugou swung his fists, using his quirk to give his punches more of an impact. Bakugou was out of breath. The sweat from his hands built up. He sent more explosions into Deku's face. As the explosions and smoke cleared. Deku still stood firmly, unscathed. He had his signature grin on his face. "Aww, come on where's my "thank you"? After I did you all a favor."

"You call that a favor?"

"You would have wished for someone to do the same thing to me back when we were kids. I bet you would be damn glad if they got rid of me. What's the difference? That he had a cool and strong quirk?"

"What are you-"

Deku murmured to himself again and placed his hand on his chin. Old habits die hard. "Well, of course, that would be the case, right? I guess you all looked up to him. His cheerful mood. His polite words. His immense strength. He really was the perfect hero candidate. I get why you all looked up to him. After all, he was the perfect, strong, thoughtful, unselfish, kind, and confident type. How could I ever be like that? After all, I didn't even have a quirk to begin with." Deku's voice cracked as he let out his words. His right eye squinted and twitched while his left remained wide. His pupil dilated.

"THAT'S WHAT I HATE ABOUT HIM!" Deku flew towards Bakugou and the impact from his push-off created craters in the cement. Eraserhead used his quirk against Deku to stop his momentum but he slipped right past him and stayed in the air, his hand crunched up into a fist. He nailed Bakugou in the stomach. Bakugou coughed up blood. The blood splashed onto Deku's face and onto his shirt.

Deku smiled. Bakugou's pain satisfying his bloodthirst. Bakugou slammed into one of the houses, breaking through the wall and landing on a table, splitting it in half.

Deku sighed and then turned toward Eraserhead. "Sorry about this, Aizawa-sensei." Deku walked up to Aizawa.

"All the lessons, training, and sessions were not meant to be used for this, Midoriya."

Deku looked at him and smiled as he crept closer. "So what?"

Deku raised his hand up towards a house and a metal pipe flew from the side to his hand. The metal enveloped in black flame. He dragged the boiling metal onto the ground, melting the surface.

"You don't have to do this, Midoriya. You don't want to do this."

"Oh but I do." He licked the blood off his face. With a snap of his fingers, a winged Nomu flew down to the ground where he stepped on him and grabbed him by the arm, pulling it backward. Eraserhead cringed in pain.

Deku knelt down in front of Eraserhead, legs wide open like a baseball player. A shadow formed in Deku's hand and took the form of a dagger, much like how he got his sword. "Don't worry, I won't take your quirk, yet. It currently has a use for me but I will spare you the suffering." Deku urged the Nomu away. With Eraserhead still on the ground, Deku stabbed him in the chest. "So I'll make it up with a different kind of suffering."

Deku pressed the pipe up to Eraserhead 's face. The hot metal burning the flesh. Eraserhead screamed in pain. Deku grabbed his head and pounded it onto the ground. He smeared his face on the ground, causing rocks and pieces of glass press into the burnt flesh. "Poor Aizawa sensei, I'm truly sorry. Please send my regards to UA. "Burn in hell."

A fist slammed into Deku's face, sending him flying into the wall. "Like hell, he would!"

The rubble and materials used to make the houses fell onto Deku. His head hung down low, his messy green hair covering his face. "You seriously think that he would say that? I see you're still stupid." Bakugou looked at Eraserheads burnt and bloody face. "You psychotic ass."

Bakugou walked up to Deku and grabbed his shirt collar. "Wake the hell up, damn you!" Deku didn't flinch.

Bakugou punched Deku in the face but didn't receive much of a response.

"Looks like your not as tough as we all thought you to be, Deku." Bakugou brought his arm backward and made a fist, ready for the punch. Bakugou swung his fist at Deku's face and heard a huge bang.

Deku was holding Bakugou's hand in front of his face. His sharp teeth hanging out of his mouth as he smiled. "Just kidding. Ah, the look on your face. Sorry not happening, Kacchan." Deku yawned.

Deku tightened his grip and twisted Bakugou's arm all the way around.

Sirens rang through the air, coming closer to Bakugou and Deku. Police cars rolled into the street along with Midnight and Thirteen. The red and blue lights flashed onto their faces.

"I guess our fun will have to stop here. I had fun joking around. It would be bad if I got caught now though. I hope you understand, Kacchan." Deku let go of Bakugou's wrist and stepped away from him. Deku snapped his fingers and a purple tinted gate opened up behind Deku. Bakugou sprinted toward Deku. He extended his arm, reaching for Deku.

"Deku!"

Deku stepped back through the gate and disappeared out of his grasp.

Midnight knelt down and flipped Eraserhead over so that his face faced her direction. "God, what happened?" Thirteen picked up the metal pipe that laid on the ground next to Eraserhead.

"The metal is still hot. To think Midoriya would even use a weapon like this."

Bakugou fell to his knees. He looked down at his hands, his useless hands. His hands that couldn't even save one friend.

"Bakugou, are you alright? Are you injured? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Thirteen asked.

"I'm fine, Leave me alone!" Bakugou said angrily.

"Never mind that, we need to take Eraserhead to the hospital." Midnight said, calling the ambulance toward them. They lifted Eraserhead off the ground and onto the emergency beds. They took him into the ambulance and Midnight and Thirteen followed. The ambulance and the police drove away leaving Bakugou on the ground.

"Damnit!" Bakugou slammed his hands on the ground. "Damnit! Damnit! Damnit!" Bakugou slowly stood up. In front of him was Deku's old house. The house slowly burned to ashes as the flames angry hand destroyed it inside and out. A picture of All Might flew out of the window, half burnt. All Might was always saving people with a smile. Deku had always wanted to do the same. Now he is hurting people with a smile and Bakugou couldn't just sit by and watch. He wasn't going to let go. He wasn't going to watch as he tore himself apart.

Bakugou stumbled toward the dorms. His broken arm dangled to his side and his ribs stung in pain. He opened the doors and fell to the ground. His classmates rushed into the room after hearing him fall.

"Bakugou, are you okay? What happened?" Ilda yelled loudly, echoing in the room. Bakugou winced in pain and was breathing heavily on the ground.

"Will you shut up?" Bakugou scoffed.

"You need to go to the hospital!" Uraraka reasoned.

"Bakugou, what happened to Eraserhead? Where is he?" Kirishima asked. Kirishima looked at Bakugou with a questioning and anticipating look.

Bakugou was silent. "I couldn't save Eraserhead or bring Deku back. I tried my best to do some damage. But he just made my efforts into his own little games. And then he started to... to Aizawa..."

Bakugou began drifting away. His eyelids getting heavier. His breath beginning to calm. His thoughts starting to disappear. His eyelids slowly fluttering to a close. Blocking out the questions that mattered most. His tears flowing gently like a stream, down into the black uncertainty of the future to come.
