Thursday passed pretty uneventfully. At lunchtime, Jade went out front to help with the rush, and after that, Harriet went home to continue packing her belongings.

While Jade was finishing preparations for Harriet's party in the office, Bernie kept an eye on the cafe from the kitchen. If anyone came, he would grab Jade to go deal with it.

One thing that Bernie did notice was that Liam did not turn up for his daily coffee, but he figured that the lad was either going to stop by late in the evening or was too busy at work, given that he was next in line to running a huge conglomerate.

Friday soon came, the day when Harriet would be leaving the cafe to move in with her fiancé.

When Jade arrived, the actually angel-faced Patrick was already busy learning with Harriet. It seemed that Harriet really wanted to make sure that her successor was competent, that she did not leave Jade in a difficult situation.

As many of the regulars knew that it was Harriet's last day, since Jade had been inviting some of them to the party, Harriet's tips that day were extremely generous. She wanted to share it with the others as they often did, but they all insisted that she keep it for starting her new home—that was the customers' intentions as well.

"How are you doing, Patrick? Do you remember the stuff you were shown before?" Jade asked.

Patrick scratched his head with an embarrassed expression. "Not everything. Harriet has been very patient with me."

"You remembered most things," Harriet chimed in. "You just weren't sure how to operate the till. Come to think of it, I don't know if we even showed you that."

"Well done, Patrick," Jade said with a smile. "It's reassuring to have you."

"Thank you." Patrick lowered his head with a rosy hue to his cheeks. Then he looked up with urgency in his eyes. "Besides, I should be the one asking if you're alright, given what happened recently."

"You don't need to worry about me, I'll be just fine. You and your father have already helped us to no end." With the mention of Silver Fox, Jade seemed to remember something and asked, "Speaking of whom, do you know if he'll be able to come to the party later?"

"Dad said he'll come if he can, but he's really busy at work at the moment, so we'll have to see."

"There's no need to worry if he can't," Harriet reassured. "But it would be nice if he can make it."

Since there were no customers waiting to be served, the three chatted around the counter for a bit.

"Oh, right, Jade, who else have you invited?"

"Just some of the regulars."

"Like?"

"I invited Mrs Harper the other day. I also had to invited that group of gossiping old ladies because they heard me invite Mrs Harper…"

"How annoying." A playful smirked appeared on Harriet's face. "Did you invite Liam?"
