Christianity

Christianity is dumb. Is it? Well, yes. It kinda is dumb. Though I'm not saying that it is but I'm am also saying it is.

From an atheist point of view all religions are dumb due to the subsequent believe in the existence of the Almighty. However, Christianity as a whole is a lot more hotpot of hocus pocus.

Well, starting from the Bible itself, specifically The Old Testament, Christians seem to really forget the origins of well Christianity itself. I do not know who, where or when exactly was the term 'Christian' come from I do however know that the whole concepts came from another religion, Rabbinic Judaism. People seem to ignore or even hate Judaism or Jews in general for all sense and purpose. Unfortunately the God of Judaism and Christianity is one and the same from obvious sources (The Bible). The whole God and salvation, wisdoms, blessings or whatever may be was for the Jews or The Israelites or Abraham descendants. Abraham was kind of the beginning of faith even if Adam eve or Noah had existed before, though the religion (even though it wouldn't be considered a religion yet) was very lose and there really wasn't any rules or law up until Moses.

Moses came along and freed the Israelites and with him came along Moses laws which were really the backbone for Judaism. After a long while, centuries pass by and kings rose and fell along with various prophets. One of the supposedly greatest prophesy was the rise of a one true king of sort for the Jews who would be the do all fix all of sorts. That unfortunately turn out to be Jesus.

And unfortunately Jesus wasn't exactly on their side per se, they of course referring to Pharisees and Sadducee. What was to become Christianity; the teachings of Jesus was exactly aligned with the upper classes of Judaism and resulted in a lot of bickering between the two, one of their clashes the judgement of a woman who commit adultery until Jesus ultimate demise. The difference between Jesus and Judaism then was pretty much that Jesus was about mending old lawn and create anew ish while the other were to strictly follow the old laws (though I must admit that they way Jewish people still strictly follow the old laws is commendable). After a while, stuffs happens and like the book, Jesus died then came back from the dead then ascended. However, his teaching then continued through his disciples who also followed Jesus into martyrdom. This was the basics to what would become of Christianity.

Years passed by and throughout the years Christians had suffered a lot on the hands of the Roman Empire. It is to be noticed that most of Europe was under the Roman Empire and religion being the most dangerous weapon it can be was disliked by the empire, as such persecution of Christians had happed a lot until The Edict of Milan was created which lifted the persecution of Christians and later down the line resulting in the formation of Roman Catholic Church. After all, if you can't fight them you might as well join them.

Going back to the Jesus, what he preached was mending of law and the Gospel no longer just for the Jews but for all people. The problem was and still is where do you draw line. Perhaps due to xenophobia, narcissism, pagan believes or some other reasons what was an upgrade of Judaism now turned to Christianity. That means no more Mosaic Law and a lot of other things. Sabbath was no more, no more kosher, no more festival. Instead we got Sundays and Christmas.

Throughout the ages, a lot had happened under the Roman Catholic Church be it good or bad. The split happened between east and west; the Eastern Orthodox church then followed by the Crusades and then to the Protestant Reformation. During the ages what had happened was that the church, more specifically the clergy had a lot of power, like 40k inquisitor amount of power at some point. So with humans being very susceptible to corruption of power one can imagine the consequences. So, laws were made to benifit the church even if it wasn't made on biblical basis. One even begins to question the Bible considering who compiled it. While the church did made a lot of mistakes, these mistakes were made as a consequences of human greed and these mistakes further led to further consequences, the Protestant Reformation. The whole idea of the Reformation was that the Bible was the only means of all things; codes of conducts, faith and a means of salvation. However, it failed to take into account a simple matter; Where do you draw the line?

The line mostly refers to principles and rules. The symbolism of Jesus was that he died for our sins and that word of God and kingdom of heaven is no longer just for the people of Israel or Jews. And as such it wasn't a Jewish thing anymore and that the Old Testaments were irrelevant (Mosaic Laws), it mostly came down to because Jesus happened this is no longer important and such the Protestant Church which had seperated from the Catholic Church became further seperated into denominations each with their own quirks. Another problem is misinterpretation. The Bible is more complicated than most at certain points. At certain points people came to an impass where it could mean this or it could mean that or just as is. This becomes an breaking point for people which makes you it their differences sometimes resulting in denomination. Non-denominational Churches have now also came about due to multitude of reasons much like a rediscovery like the Protestant Church or something as far fetched as a self proclaimed Prophet establishing his own church from his visions like a cult. This becomes a problem as rules and doctrines doesn't matter anymore. You become a Christian for the sake of being a Christian.

As harsh as it may be this is true for a lot of people. Humans like to be picky about things, even in religion and this is also true for Christianity. We cherry pick things in the Bible; verses, sentences which we like only because it befits us ignoring whatever comes next or before. And with this comes the mindset that people thinks they are the better person because they are Christians though their claims are questionable. Its becomes delusional.
