The Night He Doesn't Remember

Drake loved Embrey passionately, wildly like if she was Joy but she was not. He poured all of his emotions, his anger, his love, his agony into loving Embrey.

And Embrey could not stop herself when Drake took her in his arms because she loves him, she knew it might change everything but she still did it.

After a wild and unimaginable night, Embrey woke up lying next to Drake. she slightly opened her eyes and looked at sleeping Drake.

Embrey did not want to Wake Drake she slowly got out of the bed without making a noise wore her clothes and went out. She does not want Drake to wake. She thought things might get awkward if they see each other now. Embrey went to her house and then to the hospital.

Drake was still asleep, an hour later after Embrey left, Drake woke up, he rubbed his eyes and looked all around, his head was hurting, he got out of the bed and then goes to take shower. he got ready for work and went to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Embrey in her office was anxious, she was scared about what happened last night might affect their relationship.

" Ahhh!!! What the hell was I thinking? If he could not stop himself, I should have, What if he won't ever see me? what if he hates me for last night?" wondered Embrey in agony.

The entire day passed and Embrey tries her best to avoid Drake. Drake was as usual busy checking on the patients. After his shift got over, he takes the elevator to his office.

As the elevator door opened, he saw Embrey. Embrey was stunned when she saw him, the whole day she has been trying to avoid him and now all of a sudden he was right in front of her. she smiles hesitantly and tries to escape. she looks the other way and tries to walk past him but Drake stopped her.

" Hey? Stop, Where are you going? there's something I want to talk to you about", said Drake.

Embrey stopped right there as she heard Drake.

"what does he want to talk about? does he want to talk about last night? is her going to be angry at me?" wondered Embrey as she turns to see him anxiously.

"Why? What do you want to talk about?".murmered Embrey with slight fear on her face.

Drake held Embrey's hand and said," Let's talk in my office".

As Drake says this, Embrey's face turned pale, she got scared. Drake held her hand and took her to his office, he closed the door and made her sit on the couch.

Embrey was so nervous, her legs were shaking, she could not bear to look him in the eyes. Drake held her hand and looked her in the eyes.

" Embrey, I want to thank you", said Drake.

Embrey looked at Drake confused and asked," Thanks for what?"

"For last night, for what you did for me, I was drunk, I hurt you but you still chose to be by my side last night?"

As She hears Drake, she was stunned, Drake was thanking her for last night, she was confused.

" Last night? You remember everything?" questioned Embrey hesitantly.

"Yes, I do remember, I hurt you, I was drunk but you did not leave my side, thank you for helping me out Embrey. I don't know what would I have done without you", said Drake as he looked at Embrey.

Embrey looked at him and wondered," Ahh!! So, he does not remember what happened between us last night?, Thank god! ".

She sighed, relaxed a bit, and said," It was nothing, I am your friend Drake, THat's what I should have done".

As she says this, she tries to get up and leave but Drake held her wrist and stops her.

" Let me see your wound, you haven't cleaned it yet? right?" asked Drake as he fetches the box.

Embrey could not do anything but listen to him. He holds her hand and opens the bandages and looked at it.

" I am sorry Embrey, I don't know why I did this to you? I was just thinking about her and myself and did not realize how much I was hurting the people who care for me, I am sorry", says Drake as she cleans the wound and puts bandages on it.

Embrey couldn't see Drake in so much guilt, she held his hand and said," It's not that bad Drake, and it was just an accident, you would never hurt me, I know that, so stop blaming yourself and just relax, okay?"

Drake nodded with a slight smile on his face. Embrey gets up and turns to leave.

As she leaves, Drake calls her name," Embrey".

Embrey turns to look at him and asked," What?" Drake goes to her and hugs her tightly for a while.

Embrey leaves his office, she walks in the corridor and keeps thinking about last night.

" He does not remember anything, that's good, otherwise things would have become so awkward, but Why do I feel upset about it? I don't know, Embrey? you are thinking too much, just forget about it, even if he remembered anything about last night, it would just have been a one-night thing, it does not mean anything to him because no matter what Joy did, he still loves her and you know it, so just stop getting ahead," wondered Embrey in dismay.

Embrey loves Drake but she can't do anything about it, she doesn't want to hurt Drake as she has done before, she was changed. she let go of him for Joy.

And Drake was dealing with his own heartbreak, he was keeping himself busy just to avoid his mind and heart from thinking about Joy but he was not able to do it, but Embrey was helping her out to do so because she knew if she did not help him he might end up being alone and sad.

What would happen when Drake gets his memory back about that night? would that change everything between the two? does the care they have for each other would bring them closer or the truth about that night would grow them apart?
