Chapter 23

Diya showed him her marriage certificate when Balu gave her an unserious look.

Balu raised his eyebrows at her. "You sure are something. I was waiting for you to ask me to find a groom but you've found one on your own. Whatever. As long as no one disses me anymore. All the bugging from your uncles and aunts will stop now."

"All you ever care about is your reputation. Do you at least want to know who I married? What he is doing? Anything at all?" Diya asked him; her hands in fists.

"Ah. I don't care about those things. And," Balu advanced a few steps closer to her; glaring, "don't forget that your mother needs to come back to my place.".

Diya wanted to punch him in the face at that moment but she controlled herself and went back to Mala without saying anything.

Tasha had arrived by the time Mala was almost done with her breakfast. Diya bid goodbye to them and went straight to her apartment. She was almost there when she remembered forgetting to call the movers. Although she won't need to bring any furniture, her bookshelf is one of the things she would never leave behind and for that, she'll need a truck.

Even if she calls them now it might take them a while to arrive and she was tired from everything that happened yesterday. Diya thought about it and called Ajay to tell him that she'll move in tomorrow.

"Hello, Ajay. So... I called to say that-" then she saw him; leaning on his car in the parking lot of her apartment building. He was wearing a simple t-shirt and a trouser which made Diya gawk at him. She found this him more endearing than him in suits.

"Sorry for disturbing you but the movers are waiting." only then Diya saw the truck and the movers that were standing behind his car. She could sense a smile in his voice.

Diya packed her things and after informing the movers about the things she will need, she joined Ajay in his car. "I don't have many things to bring other than my personal belongings and my bookshelf so it won't take much time.". Ajay nodded at her.

He wanted to tell her that it was not a big deal for him to buy a bookshelf for her but he didn't want her to feel like he is showing off. "It seems like you like to read books.". Diya became excited when this topic came up.

"I love to read. It makes me feel like I'm in a different world. Owning a mini library in my house is one of my dreams.". Ajay noticed how Diya's face was full of smiles when talking about her favorite things. He smiled at her; watching her talking in silence. 'Knock, knock'. Diya stopped talking hearing the sound and turned to its source.

Ajay was annoyed when they were disturbed. He nodded at the mover slightly and started to drive toward his house followed by the mover's truck and Diya's car. Diya wanted to drive her car there but because Ajay insisted on her coming with him, she had no other choice than to leave her car to the movers.
