Pressure

Placing the tea on Liu Zijian's desk, Han Meixiu looked at the young man.

He was serious looking at the screen of his laptop knitting his eyebrows from time to time.

"What are you doing?" She asked gently.

After the fiasco he made in the kitchen, she pulled him out and eventually called Aunt Ni Ni.

In the end, they didn't help but made the older woman's work double. Although she wanted to help, Aunti Ni Ni shooed her away telling her it would be better to spend time with her husband rather than in the kitchen.

It was then she decided to prepare the tea.

"I'm checking the world market while I'm waiting for a certain report." He answered.

"I didn't know you're also interested in world market. Are you an investor or a trader?" She asked as she walked towards him to see what's on his screen.

In all honesty, she was also interested in trading but the more she learned the more complicated the market became for her. In the end, she decided not to pursue further.

"Both, if necessary."

"What's the report about?"

"Details about your parents 'death'."

Han Meixiu stopped for a while and nodded.

"You're not surprised. You already know it?"

"Xiao Xiao called me earlier. But I don't know the entire details about it."

"I see." Liu Zijian thought that he should have informed her earlier but he didn't want to to present information that's incomplete thus he waited for the full report.

He reached out to her and guided her to sat on his lap as they both looked at the laptop's screen with few open windows.

"Jian, are you going to have meetings out of the country for few days?"

"No. Why?"

"Then why do you have marks on those dates?" Han Meixiu said pointing the table calendar not too far from them.

"Those are our special days."

"Ours?"

"Mmmm." He said as he smiled wickedly.

'Why do I feel something isn't right?' Han Meixiu thought upon seeing Liu Zijian's reaction.

Before she could ask him to explain the report finally came in.

"Let's read together." Liu Zijian said in a low voice, passing some warm air near her ear.

Han Meixiu didn't want to think that her husband was deliberately seducing her. Maybe she was just really corrupted that a simple innocent gesture from him gave a different meaning to her being.

They quietly read the details of the report.

"My mother's death here is similar to what happened to Wang Jinyi or should I say it's just the same.."

"More likely she used her death as hers."

"But about my father's, it is also a bit similar except the part that he came to you."

If Han Meixiu didn't talk to her father, she would believe without a doubt the report.

In the report, Han Yun Xiang was heavily wounded and eventually died of complications. He was attacked when he tried to fight a group. As he was already 'mentally' unstable because of what happened to his wife under his care, he started to become insensible.

"But how did my mother know he was injured?"

Based from what her father told her, it was when he stole the information containing her own name. But he was with the people against her mother, could it be...

Her mother found out those people and got the information from them?

"Your mom is thorough." Liu Zijian said in a calm voice. He already planned to create a story of Han Meixiu's parents the moment she got famous instantly but he never thought that Zhang Huiling already did it.

Or he should say, she already had this plan and was just waiting for a good timing.

It might also be possible that the older woman was already prepared to make Han Meixiu an orphan to the world as it would be safer that way.

Nonetheless, that action helped them in someway.

Speaking of her mother, until now there was still no response from her.

Han Meixiu actually didn't know if she would be glad or not that her 'provocation' was 'ignored'.

The young woman slowly leaned backwards.

"Tired?" Liu Zijian asked as he secured her position in his arms.

"I'm tired of thinking. Maybe I reached my limit today. I learned more than necessary."

"You can take a rest early. You don't need to go tomorrow if you..."

"I'll go. I've been waiting to finally get a hold of LCG process. Besides it would help me divert my attention."

*

Han Meixiu woke up early. Although she didn't sleep well because of excitement, she was still able to pull herself out of the bed when Liu Zijian asked her if she wanted to get up.

It's her first day in LCG today.

The people in LCG were also surprisingly early today. It wasn't because they could finally enjoy a good ambiance of their respective offices but there was a rumor that a special person would join them today.

As who would that person be, they still didn't know. But it would be a good thing to leave a favorable first impression to the big bosses.

Most of them were actually transferred from Q City and very few were trained in K Country. Those newly 'joined' members were much more vigilant as they didn't know much about LCG unlike those who were considered 'veterans'.

"Do you think, I can do well?" Han Meixiu nervously asked as she kept on pressing Liu Zijian's hand. They were currently passing thru the main highway.

"Of course."

"What if I make a mistake? What if I will fail to do a simple task?"

"Everyone makes mistake. It won't make you less of a person if ever you did."

"Even so, that would be shameful. I am your wife, I should do perfectly and..." Han Meixiu continued to blabber her worries.

They were probably nonsense but she couldn't calm down unless she would voice them out.

"My wife is a human. She can make mistakes. Who ever will criticize you should prove that their actions are really reasonable, otherwise..."

"Hey Jian, I am open to constructive criticism, okay? Don't make a big deal out of it if ever it will happen."

Although criticisms per se would definitely hurt someone's feeling or ego, they could give a boost to someone to do their job better.

Besides, she's been used to handling unprecedented and unreasonable criticisms. She didn't care if it would be addressed to her, but if Liu Zijian would be dragged, then that's a different story.

Since she would be introduced as his wife and a 'trainee on the job' she should be more careful.

After the incident in Q City where she became famous, Liu Zijian discarded their initial agreement to wear a mask and pretend to be a simple trainee.

It was just unnecessary.

"I know. Just relax then. Nobody is pressuring you."

Han Meixiu didn't answer.

'Yes, nobody but myself.' She thought and sighed inwardly.
