Chapter 8 - Ninth Rank of Body Refining and Distressed Human Cultivators

It has been three weeks since defeating the Golden Monkey King, and the decision on what Dana wanted to purchase from the system store was two items which she believed were essential.

The first was a storage ring with 1500 cubic space, originally she was concerned that it would be useless once she has grown in size however, the system quickly removed her concerns as a feature of the storage ring is that it adapts towards her size, since coming into this world she realized how rapidly she has been growing in a mere week she had grown significantly, thus this was a required addition.

The system mentioned that most spirit beasts with dragon heritage have this trait as many greedy cultivators and spirit beasts hunt for dragons as their bodies are littered with treasures, thus their growths are quick so they have the means to defend themselves.

From the variety of items in the store, Dana decided on having a storage ring as she believed that she has been too wasteful, as every spirit beast carcass is a treasure and since hunting spirit beasts she had only dragged a fraction of beasts carcasses for her own consumption.

Now with a storage ring, she can store any valuable spirit beast bodies with her.

And further, with the system help, she can identify many rare spirit herbs which can be useful for her in the future, or even towards other cultivators as she knew eventually she will return towards human society and it will be vital for her contain wealth with her whilst doing so.

Dana's second item was a spirit fruit she found whilst browsing through the system, Power Fruit, which was the most effective fruit in assisting a cultivator in the Body Refining Realm.

This spirit fruit is extremely beneficial for the cultivators in the Body Refining Realm and is one of the most desired cultivation resources for anyone below Qi Circulation realm.

Even if you're above the Body Refining Realm, it still has some beneficial effects of strengthening the body. Both items cost her 3000 soul points, leaving a few thousand remaining, however, she felt pleased with her purchase.

Since receiving the Power Fruit she discovered a lair of a Rank 4 Spirit Beast, which she easily dispatched, seeing that it was a suitable area to cultivate in seclusion, Dana retrieved the Power Fruit out of her storage ring.

Dana decided to use the Golden Monkey King core to promote her into the Qi Circulation realm as it contains the tens of years of cultivation' of the Great Monkey King, therefore, contains a large amount of pure Qi.

Thus, she retrieved the Power Fruit from her storage ring and placed the fruit in front of her. The Power Fruit glowed with a red lustre, seemingly packed full of energy as it lay in front of her.

Without delay Dana directly consumed the Power Fruit.

A terrifying berserk energy sensation erupted inside her body, which immediately began to refine her body.

Pleased seeing her body being strengthened rapidly, Dana instantly began to cultivate, continuously absorbing the energy contained within the Power Fruit.

Three weeks later the energy from the Power Fruit was fully assimilated into Dana's body. Dana's bones cracked as she arose from her meditation, her body continued growing stronger from her rise in cultivation rankings.

Dana's size has once again increased, rivalling the once giant Iron Bear which formerly towered over her.

The entirety of her body felt brimming with power, she feels that her strength has increased more than double than it was compared to three weeks ago.

"Peak of Rank 9 Body Refining" Dana muttered, a thrilled gleam in her eyes. I'm just one step away from the Qi Refining Realm, Dana thought.

She was already informed of the cultivation ranks by the System, and she knew that a Qi Circulation Spirit beast is considered fairly strong in this continent, so it was one of her goals to achieve in order to have some capabilities of defending herself.

She no longer needs to be worried about common cultivators which usually hunted spirit beasts in this place, only notable cultivators in each Empire has enough strength to pose a threat to her.

Dana decided that she needed to achieve Qi Circulation realm as soon as possible as soon as she thought this she heard the loud commotion of a large battle near her.

A woman's scream echoed throughout the area as men shout for them to prepare themselves for battle. Realizing that the loud distressed voices of human cultivators are near showing a clear indicator they were in a dire situation.

A part of her wanted remains completely ignorant about their troubles while being fully aware of the problems that will arise if cultivators discover her existence. Nonetheless, as someone which spent their former life entirely as human, Dana which was never a heartless person in her former life cannot simply leave them to meet such a horrid fate. With a troubled look in her eyes, Dana hastily heads towards the location of the noise.
