"So there I was, butt naked, when everyone in my family walked in" Anthony ended his story about how he manages to fall in a porcupine and had little needles protruding all over him. "I thought I couldn't get any worse then that, I guessed wrong. My brother snaps a picture of it and posted it online."
Everyone laughed, including myself, at his story. I thought I would be stuck at a table filled with extremely dull people and wishing that Sebastian never found me, but hey, a girl could be wrong.
In the short time I've known these people, I feel as if I grown quite close to them. I learned that Joy is a rapid reading, Anthony was a fitness buff, Jamie was vegan and loved flowers, and Vincent...well he really didn't speak. He didn't touch the food in front of him. Was he sick? He looked pale. It also felt like he was watching me from behind those sunglasses of his.
"So Dawn" Jamie asked after she swallowed a forkful of lettuce. "What do you like to do for fun?"
Fun? What is fun? Obviously not fighting for money.
"I like to spend most of my time outdoors" I hesitated. It wasn't a lie, technically I was homeless.
"Do you camp a lot, then?" Asked Anthony.
I camp everyday. In the streets.
"Yes" I replied.
"We all should go camping this weekend then" squealed Jamie.
"That should be fun" Joy said.
"Yeah, fun" Vincent said as he stood up. "I have to go, you guys know why."
"Alright" Joy said with a smile. "Take care of what you need to do."
Vincent nodded and walked off. When he was out of sight I looked at Joy. "Is he okay?"
"He's fine" Anthony dismissed me.
"Hey, the Headmaster is about to speak" Joy hushes us.
"Hello" I hear a soft voice echo throughout the room. The voice belonged to a old man that looked like a hundred. His eyes scanned the room. I noticed that Sebastian stood by his side.
"Welcome, to another year at Tenebris Academy" he said and everyone clapped. "For all that don't know, my name is Headmaster Cane, but in the near future I would like you all to feel comfortable calling me by my first name, Artemis."
Everyone started clapping again.
"Yes, now if all of the new students to the Academy please come up front for your orientation."
I guess that included me so I started to stand up with the rest of the people who needed to be shown around. Before I could stand up fully Anthony pushed me back in my seat.
"We'll show you around" he said and I looked at him confused. "I doubt you want to spend a few hours with a bunch of freshmen, right?"
"But-" I started to say when I was stopped by Anthony's hand in my face.
"We're supposed to show you around" he shrugged. "We're friends right?"
Friends?
"I guess" I hesitated once more.
"Friends help friends, alright. Besides, we'll show you the fun stuff."
