Gasps for air left her mouth as she kept on running on the dark hallways. Her heart was pounding madly and her blood pumped with adrenaline. The building was a night club, and Aelin was no stranger to its lurking dangers but the thought of him catching up to her was far more dangerous. Bodies full of sweat were spread along the corridors like pawns on a chess board. The loud music made her head spin and she couldn't seem to find the exit.
People were starring at her like she was a lost kid in some random park. One guy even tried to get her to dance with him pulling her hand so hard she almost tripped on her feet but she got him off of her quickly. She started to push through people so hard just to make room for small steps, running was not an option in this kind of a crowd. She found some stairs and went straight downstairs finding herself on yet another crowded hallway.
She then turned left and heard loud swearing from behind. She started to run again towards the first door she saw and got into a huge shady bedroom. She closed the door and locked it 3 times checking twice if the room itself was safe. It was dark but turning the light on was a stupid move so she decided to rest in the dark for a few seconds before making a plan. Aelin steadied her breathing so she can be as silent as possible. Her hands were trembling but she managed to calm herself enough to inspect the room for any ideas that could get her out of this place. FAST!
Going out that door was not an advice she would give to herself so the windows were the last damn thing on her mind. She looked through the curtains swiftly. The window was on the back of the building witch was a big empty parking lot followed by some small streets that led to the main road.
She opened the window with shaking hands and climbed it as slowly as possible since her legs were not steady enough for fast movements because of all the running and the fear that lurked inside of her. She reached solid ground and started to walk alongside the wall.
One step, two steps, a few more and she reached the corner. Aelin peaked a small glance to see if the place was clear. It was quiet outside and after thanking the heavens above for this, she sprinted towards the parking lot.
But it was all too easy, wasn't it?
A hard grip on her waist snatched her away from her almost-to-be freedom. He threw her on the wall and pinned her hands above her head. She could not even move an inch of her tiny body, his was towering over her like a huge rock.
- If I were you I would stop watching movies because they tend to give people the wrong idea. He said with a husky low voice in her ear, his breath fanning across her neck like fire.
- Which is? She snapped back with hear heart beat almost at the speed of light.
- Wet dreams like escaping after following around town someone like me. He locked her eyes and chuckled.
- I was in for some fun, I can always get you off of my shoulder. Aelin was messing around but her voice cracked when he leaned in closer.
- Aelin, let me tell you something. You followed me here for some information but you'll get none and sure as hell you won't get home safely tonight.
She looked up at him with big eyes, trying to maintain the tears from falling, her breathing started to fasten. His face was dark but she could still catch his features like it was some sort of painting. His full lips were curled up in a devilish smirk, his eyes stared back at her with a glimpse of malice in them and the moon casted a soft light on his face making him a lot more beautiful than she already thought he was.
Aelin wanted to yell at him for capturing her attention in this kind of situation but she had no time for that because the next thing she knew was that a bullet shot right above their heads.. And many more followed.
