Chapter 2

Everyone around her is in awe with her answer to the weird questions asked by the host.

She heard comments on her answers while sharing their own answers to the question with each other.

Sheen scribbles notes on a piece of paper in her desk while waiting for the call of her boss.

The multicolored sticky notes around her desk are like decorations.

Her pens and pencils in a unicorn-like can give the edge to her desk.

She is plain, she is boring, she is- "Sheen! Boss is outside, he wants to talk to you."

One of her colleagues called her out, pointing to the door.

She stood up but the temperature suddenly changed so she took off her fluffy jacket of a cream color and hanged it to her seat.

Maroon blouse top and her square pants give her a model-like figure.

Her three-inch heels make the sound of a proud lady as she walks to the door.

"Who would not love her?"

She heard one of her male coworkers said which made her smile but was answered by a "Her first love, of course."

The curve of her lips suddenly flattened and she just focused on talking to her boss.

When she was outside, her eyes wandered around their silent halls, expecting that the old man would be there leaning on the peach-colored walls.

But he was nowhere to be found, so she decided to walk around to find her boss.

After a few turns, she heard her boss talking to someone on the phone, and found him beside the glass window.

When he saw Sheen, he turned off the call and walks to her smiling.

The smile that Sheen can't read, something that says she will be in trouble.

"Dear Sheen! My dear, dear, Haley. I would like to tell you something that I should keep, but I can't, because I can't keep my mouth shut."

He held her both hands, this is not something harassing because her boss is homosexual, she sees him as a friend, or more like a girlfriend because he is the only one who sees her as Sheen and not as the author.

"You were nominated as the Romance Novelist of the Year if you will be able to write the most read romance book of the year. So, that book we were asking you to write, that will be your ticket to the title."

With the overwhelming information, Sheen can't make any sound but her smile says everything.

Another award is on the way if only she can write another novel.

"So what can you say? Better give me the most romantic book you can ever write!"

Her boss's smile is as wide and as happy as hers, he shakes Sheen's hand as a good luck and made his way to his office but stopping for a while to remind Sheen of the deadline,

"This December, that should be published. Next year will be the awarding."

Sheen stands in the middle of the hallway, her boss's words echoing in her mind, the Romance Novelist of the Year, something that made her heart beat faster and her stomach turns 360 degrees.

Her smile made her jaw stuck and pain suddenly rushed through her face.

While massaging her jaws, footsteps were going in her direction.

She looks back and sees her best friend, Blue. 5" 9, blue-eyed nerd is going to greet her but the news can't wait so she rushed to him and tells him everything that was said to her.

Both of them jump for joy before going back to the office. Blue is not from their department, he is from the information department so he has to walk from one buikding to another to see Sheen.

"Why are you here?" Sheen asks Blue who steals glances from her.

"Well, I was told to call you because of some fans who are messaging us for a book signing event."

They stopped in front of the office door.

"What'd you say?"

Sheen answered while answering a message from her mom who asks her to come home tonight.

"Well, I said that I won't let anyone see your pretty face or hear your soothing voice."

That answer made Sheen stop from typing and looked at Blue who is staring right through her.

"Why can't you see me?"

Blue asks her, his eyes are full of the same feeling she felt when he saw her first love earlier. Pain, love, and longing.
