Qin Feng's Revenge 1

"I am so sorry."

Qin Feng glared at Xu Yanzhi but refused to speak to her. What was there to say? She had dumped him on Xuan Mei two days ago, and expected the girl to explain everything, without warning her first? While leaving her to expect Lin Liushui?

What sort of idiocy was that? To think that he had trusted her to arrange matters!

That had almost resulted in him being throttled by the young woman, when she started to have the weird notion that Qin Feng had done away with the handsome man! That had been enough to get him pummeled half to death by Xuan Mei, before Xu Yanzhi stepped in again, to put an end to the debacle.

The Senior Disciple even had to pin her down and hit her acupressure points, to stop her from her panicked pummelling of the so-called Guest of the Snow Swallow Palace.

And he couldn't run away from her either, once Xuan Mei had gotten hold of him. At least, he wasn't in a position to use his martial arts. Although he was seriously tempted to, when she started to hit him in the face. That had left Qin Feng covered with bruises all over his face and a cut lip. Not to mention his disheveled hair, that looked like he had been attacked by a flock of pigeons. Or some more vicious bird.

Which was something that almost every one of the disciples at the Snow Swallow Palace saw, and was talking about, after seeing him flee from the woman and her lover, every time that they came over to apologize, since that morning. Clearly, he wasn't in the mood to deal with either of them.

And that was why Xu Yanzhi was in his closed quarters with him now. Apologizing profusely for her mistake. Or, to be more exact, her prank.

"I am so, so sorry."

That second apology eked a low growl from between his lips, which made Xu Yanzhi cringe back a little. Before she boldly stepped forward again, and bent her head in a deep bow.

"I didn't expect her to be so upset, or that she would start hitting you like that. Really, I don't know what came over her. I thought that it would be a nice surprise, if you were to show up instead of Young Master Lin, and I ..."

"And you dumped me into this stinking pond of filthy water, and left me to drown in it!"

This time, she really did step back, with her lips quivering and tears dripping out of the corners of her eyes. Then she bent into a deep bow again, in abject apology. Qin Feng looked like he was tempted to slap her then, but he held himself back. With a great deal of effort.

Then his eyes narrowed. No. She deserved something far worse than that!

"Well, now you know that things don't always go your way. And how life is not like one of your stupid romance novels," he growled at her instead.

"If you ever hesitate to step in, when you see something like that, be ready to clean up the bodies of your Sisters in the Snow Swallow Mountain Palace. I only held back because she was ... she is Lin Liushui's woman.

"And you can be sure that I feel like beating him until he has more bruises and cuts than I do now, for what she has done to me!"

And he pointed at his own remarkably multi-coloured face when he said that.

He saw Xu Yanzhi swallow when she heard his words. And how she sneaked a peek at him, before she realized that he was still watching her closely, and ducked her head again.

"I am sorry. I am sorry."

"Enough of that! What is the bloody point of saying that to me? If you really want to make it up to me, go beat Xuan Mei up yourself!"

"What?"

Xu Yanzhi had her hands over her mouth again. And Qing Feng was getting a bit sick of seeing that. So he leaned forward and showed her the bruises all over his face. "Go beat her up like what she did to me? Didn't you want to take revenge for me? Didn't you say that it was all your fault? Well, how do you do that? Isn't it by slapping that girl until she cries and begs you for forgiveness? Or do you have something else in mind?"

"But ... But revenge?"

"Oh? If not that, what should you do to make it up to me? If she shows up in front of me, I am not certain that I can stop myself from cutting off her hands, and her feet. And then maybe her ..."

"Stop! Stop! I will ... take revenge for you, alright? This was my fault."

"Good!"

Qin Feng hid his laughter until she was gone. This was better than he hoped! So long as Xu Yanzhi went and kicked up a fuss with Xuan Mei, then everyone would think that she was doing it because of him!

That was the real reason why he had shown everyone his pitifully beaten up face! And why he had avoided Xuan Mei and Lin Liushui when they came to apologize! So long as Xu Yanzhi took action, who wouldn't say that she had feeling for him, and that she was hitting Xuan Mei because he got hurt?

Even Lin Liushui would not be able to interfere, would he? Since it was clearly a woman's quarrel. So he would have to stand there, and watch as Xuan Mei gets slapped around!

For some reason, just the thought of that made Qin Feng feel better.

Now, wouldn't that make for a lovely story? It would be just like those books of hers, wouldn't it?
