DSS shorts: Changes III

He was shocked when he heard her words.

He looked on as she left the room while she walked uncomfortably.

It was his fault she was in pain. It was his fault she felt insecure. He took her best years from her and made her uncomfortable in exchange. He was the bad guy.

He had always self-blamed whenever he heard her sob into her pillow, but he tried his best to make her feel better and happier. Hearing it right from her mouth broke him down completely. He knew she was right, but he couldn't change things anymore.

His eyes reddened the more he thought about it, and tears rolled down his face. He covered them and let his shoulders shiver as his sobs grew louder.

He couldn't even go comfort her because she didn't want to see him. After a while, he left the room and went towards the guest room. She was crying. He was scared she'd do something to her body, but he chose to trust in judgement. She would never harm their baby. That was the symbol of their love.

He headed back to their room when her cry softened. He took a shower and lied in bed restless.. He wasn't sure what she was up to, but he was willing to wait for her to calm down. He turned on his side as he shut his eyes to relax his mind.
