part 5: just 3 minutes !

One shot each.

Naitkor and Epsilon.

Just a single bullet from both…

And it was enough to decide everything.

The room was completely destroyed—nothing remained untouched. Walls cracked, furniture shattered, and smoke still lingered in the air.

A clear sign of how fierce the fight had been.

But in the end…

Only one stood victorious.

"I-It hurts…! Shit… Moon Blood!!"Epsilon gritted his teeth as he dropped to one knee.

It had all happened so fast—but even at that speed, Maya had managed to see through everything and land her shot directly into Epsilon's right leg.

A bullet from Moon Blood, the twin of his own weapon, had brought him down.

But that's not what made him lose…

What decided the fight...

Was the simple fact that Maya survived his shot.

"I-I was slower… than you!!"Epsilon hissed through clenched teeth, the pain stabbing through his leg like fire.

Maya sighed, then smiled as she walked over to him cautiously.

"No, no—it's not like that. If your sword hadn't fallen… I would've been dead right now."

But Epsilon's frustration boiled over.

"I was an easy target! Just—kill me already! I don't want your pity!"

His words were angry.

But Maya's expression softened.

Her voice shifted. Calm. Gentle.

"Did you say... just kill me?"—smiling faintly—"Don't say that like a human soul is cheap."

"Even if you tried to kill me… I can't just kill you that easily. Because I'm afraid."

"Afraid that if I start getting used to killing people... I'll stop caring who I kill.""And one day, I'll take the life of someone innocent—without hesitation. That's why… it's impossible for me."

Those words...

They cut deeper than any blade.

Epsilon's eyes widened. That chaotic storm of unfamiliar emotions returned, flooding his chest.

Confusion.

Disbelief.

Doubt.

He'd spent his life pushing those feelings away.

Telling himself they were meaningless.

But now?

Now they were impossible to ignore.

He stared at Maya in silence.

"This girl… who is she?""How can someone so strong… refuse to kill their enemies?""Is it really that hard to aim at the head… and pull the trigger?"

It wasn't a question he meant to ask aloud. It came out like a reflex—as if Maya's words had triggered something buried inside.

But when he really thought about her final words…

Killing the innocents...?

His heart dropped.

Something inside him twisted painfully.

WEEEOOOO~ WEEEOOOO~

The sound of Blue Police sirens echoed from the streets below.

Maya's ears twitched. She spun toward the window.

"Oh no! The Blue Police! They're here already!"—in a full Baka voice—"I gotta get outta here!!"

She rushed to the window and started preparing to escape.

Epsilon, still on the ground, raised his voice—angry, desperate.

"Wait—! Stop right there, Naitkor!"

But she paused only for a moment. Then turned around, her expression softening.

"Ah, sorry~ I wanted to sterilize your injury myself, but... no time for that."

And then, with her trademark goofy smile:

"Ahhh! And by the way—my name's Maya! See youuuu! Nice to know youuuu!!"

And just like that...

She was gone.
