Chapter 229: Aerial Dogfight

On the rooftop, a group of soldiers frantically pushed a one-eyed general toward a heavy bomber, desperately urging him to board while pleading anxiously.

"General! You need to leave now! The city can't hold any longer!"

General Modorn, being shoved by his personal guards, had a furious expression.

"Rubbish! What about the city? What about my soldiers? Get out of my way! Hand me a gun!"

"General! The resistance can't afford to lose you! Please leave this to us!"

"I will never abandon my men!"

"General!!!"

"They're my soldiers! Stop blocking me!"

Snatching a weapon from one of his guards, Modorn radiated fierce determination.

"The battle isn't over! The city hasn't fallen yet! Even if it does, we'll fight street by street! And even if I die, the resistance will continue fighting! If you're not afraid of death, follow me!"

Hearing his resolute words, the surrounding soldiers exchanged glances before nodding firmly.

Just as they were about to speak, a sudden gust of wind roared. A fighter jet soared up alongside the building, cutting through the sky.

Seeing the enemy aircraft with three figures aboard, Modorn's guards turned pale, while his pupils shrank.

Recognizing Qin Ming in his officer's uniform, Modorn narrowed his eyes before abruptly turning toward his heavy bomber.

"Take off! Kill them!"

As the propellers roared to life, Modorn's personal bomber ascended into the sky.

Name: Heavy Bomber Rehe (Metal Slug 1)

Weapon 1: Auto-Tracking Missiles (Attack Power: 100-150)

Weapon 2: Bouncing Explosive Bombs (Attack Power: 30-80)

Weapon 3: Heavy Gatling Cannon (Attack Power: 50-60)

Defense: 15

Armor: 1500/1500

Description: This bomber symbolizes General Modorn's military prowess. He once led a squad aboard this aircraft to destroy an enemy munitions depot, turning the tide of battle. Now, this symbol of honor has become the regular army's nightmare.

The fierce winds howled as the massive Rehe bomber surged forward, hunting down the nimble fighter jet ahead.

Seated aboard the fighter jet, Qin Ming opened fire with the mounted machine gun.

Beside him, Beta adjusted the gun's angle, frantically joining the attack.

As they fired away, the Rehe bomber retaliated without hesitation.

Its mounted heavy Gatling cannons had difficulty tracking the agile fighter jet.

What posed the real threat, however, were the auto-tracking missiles it carried.

Once launched and locked onto a target, these missiles would relentlessly pursue it, making them deadly weapons against fighter jets.

In addition to the missiles, the Rehe bomber housed a stockpile of bouncing bombs, earning it its infamous name.

When dropped from the sky, these bombs would bounce and roll through every crevice on the ground before detonating, turning entire regions into infernos — rivers of flame.

However, in this aerial battle, the Rehe bomber's signature bouncing bombs were useless, as they could jump but not fly.

Thus, Modorn focused on ordering his men to fire a barrage of tracking missiles, aiming to shoot down the enemy jet.

Standing at the open hatch, he personally wielded a rocket launcher, firing repeatedly at Qin Ming's aircraft.

Faced with countless missiles chasing them down, Deputy Officer Shuke, piloting the fighter jet, kept a tight frown as he performed high-difficulty maneuvers, narrowly dodging missile after missile.

Missiles that missed their target exploded mid-air, blossoming into massive fiery bursts.

The fighter jet wove through the flames, dancing on the edge of disaster—one wrong move and it would be engulfed in fire.

However, getting swallowed by fire wasn't the real issue. Thanks to its enhanced durability, now at a solid silver-grade level, a missile or two wasn't nearly enough to take it down.

Above the skies, the fighter jet and bomber spun wildly, locked in a classic aerial dogfight.

Both sides kept maneuvering, each trying to get behind the other for a fatal strike.

Though the fighter jet boasted impressive performance, the bomber was no pushover either.

This resulted in a fierce stalemate, neither side able to gain the upper hand.

While aircraft capabilities were evenly matched, weapons weren't.

The fighter jet's ammunition was limited and couldn't compare to the heavy bomber's vast payload.

After prolonged engagement, Qin Ming and Deputy Officer Beta, firing continuously from the machine guns, finally ran out of ammo.

Their expressions stiffened as they watched the bomber in pursuit, still firing missiles relentlessly.

With no ammo left, there was no longer any way to shoot down the bomber from the sky.

Qin Ming immediately changed tactics, leaping onto the plane's fuselage and yelling furiously at Shuke.

"Shuke! Charge in! Throw me onto the bomber! I'll handle it myself!"

Shuke's face turned resolute. He gave no verbal response, opting for immediate action instead.

With a piercing roar, the fighter jet executed a flawless loop, tracing a C-shaped arc through the air and reversing directly above the Rehe bomber.

Ignoring the incoming machine-gun fire and even two heat-seeking missiles on their tail, Shuke focused solely on positioning the jet for close-range contact.

In the shortest time possible, the fighter jet aligned perfectly with the enemy bomber.

Seeing the bomber directly below, Qin Ming released his grip and crashed heavily onto the Rehe.

Meanwhile, the fighter jet, struck by two missile explosions, trailed black smoke as it wobbled downward.

Realizing the aircraft was completely out of control, Shuke and Beta wasted no time in ejecting with their parachutes.

As for Qin Ming?

With a thunderous blast, Modorn fired a direct shot at him, nearly blowing him off the bomber.

Clinging desperately to the hatch, Qin Ming hung precariously outside, enduring a barrage of gunfire from enemy soldiers.

With a fierce exertion, he hauled himself back into the cabin.

He rammed his shoulder into Modorn, who had just finished reloading and was raising his launcher for another shot.

At the same time, he grabbed a nearby bodyguard who was lunging at him with a gun and flung him forcefully out of the cabin.

Landing heavily with both feet, Qin Ming stood firmly inside the bomber.

Qin Ming—mission accomplished, successfully boarded!
