Hearing the cold mechanical voice, Qin Ming, who had just appeared on the deck of a large sailboat, frowned deeply.
Before the system prompt even finished, a sharp alert echoed in his ears.
Ding! A target has attempted to use a tracking item on you. However, since this is an advancement mission, tracking items are ineffective… Warning! An adventurer has used a high-level authority to disable your advancement protection. Tracking item activated successfully!

"Four of them? They actually sent four after me this time?"
Staring at the floorboards in silence, Qin Ming's lips curled into a cold sneer. He clenched the Nightmare Revival Coin tightly in his hand, his eyes already gleaming with a dangerous light.
He knew this confrontation with the King of Fighters squad had reached a boiling point. This high-level ambush would determine the victor.
He had prepared his trump card for them—were they ready for what was coming?
Oddly enough, Qin Ming found himself slightly looking forward to it. Maybe they would surprise him with something even grander.
Stowing the coin, he strode out of the cabin and looked up. He was sailing down a vast river.
The large ship was filled with soldiers clad in Shu Kingdom armor, flanked by numerous allied warships.
Across the river, another fleet was speeding downstream—packed with Wu Kingdom soldiers.
The two fleets were rapidly closing the distance, soldiers brimming with battle readiness.
Qin Ming barely had time to react before the fleets collided with a thunderous crash.
The ships shook violently as countless soldiers roared and leaped onto enemy vessels, brandishing weapons.
Arrows filled the sky, swords clashed, and the previously serene waters erupted into chaos.
Without hesitation, Qin Ming grabbed a spear from the cabin and leaped onto the enemy ship.
The spear swept through the air, sending two Wu soldiers flying.
He charged forward, slamming into a sword-and-shield soldier, flinging him high into the air, shield and all.
Wielding the spear like a mad tiger, Qin Ming single-handedly held back the surging wave of Wu soldiers.
He had a favorable impression of the Shu Kingdom—not just because of its romanticized history but because his past mission in Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 had been a delightful cooperation with their forces.
Fueled by loyalty, Qin Ming was ready to fight fiercely for Shu.
After all, though he was no longer one of the Five Tiger Generals—having lost that title—he didn't mind earning it again.
However, Qin Ming's fiery passion quickly waned, and his goodwill toward Shu rapidly cooled.
Despite acting as the vanguard and successfully boarding the enemy ship to fight alone against hundreds, the reinforcements he expected never arrived.
Qin Ming's anticipated reinforcements never arrived. Instead, with the waters rocking beneath them, the Shu fleet—outnumbered by Wu's forces—began retreating...
With a face full of disbelief, Qin Ming watched as the previously aggressive Shu warships swiftly pulled away from the Wu fleet, turning tail and sailing off into the distance.
Left standing alone on the enemy deck, Qin Ming dumbfoundedly stared at their departing ships, not having had the chance to jump back.
The Shu soldiers aboard their retreating vessels were just as stunned, gawking at Qin Ming with slack jaws.
Everyone exchanged bewildered glances. Why hadn't the fool jumped back?
Hadn't the plan been clear? It was supposed to be a mere feint, a distraction before retreating.
A small patrol fleet wasn't equipped to hold back Wu's elite navy. Their task was simply to draw attention, nothing more.
Why on earth did that guy actually charge in?!
As the river's current carried the Shu fleet farther away, Qin Ming remained at the bow of the Wu ship, watching them vanish into the distance.
Turning back, his gaze settled on the sea of Wu soldiers swarming toward him with raised spears and gleaming sabers.
Expressionless, Qin Ming managed an awkward smile.
Then, in a desperate move, he yanked off his pirate hat, snatched up a Wu soldier's helmet from a nearby corpse, slapped it on his head, and raised his arm high, bellowing:
"Long live the King of Wu!"
The Wu soldiers exchanged bewildered glances before nodding in unison.
With synchronized shouts, they raised their weapons and... unceremoniously shoved Qin Ming overboard into the river.

With a creaking sound, a hand suddenly appeared at the edge of a Wu warship that had evaded the Shu pursuit.
A moment later, Qin Ming, who had been forced into the river by countless spear-wielding soldiers, hauled himself back on deck, dripping wet.
Panting heavily, he struggled to climb fully aboard, grumbling furiously as soon as he did.
"Fine! You screw me over the moment I arrive, huh?! Advancement missions love pulling this crap, don't they?! Alright then, you bastards wait for me!"
