Chapter 35 Beggars As Guests

Chapter 35 Beggars As Guests

A few days later, Hua Meili was once again in her usual resting spot.

You can occasionally see her sitting on a branch of a Plum blossom tree lazing her day away as she tried to personify to the best of her abilities the word, plum blossom fairy.

Just as usual, she was taking her "break nap" when suddenly she heard the sound of an engine and unfamiliar voices coming from outside the gates.

She looked in that certain direction as she lazily sat up leaning against the tree surveying the source of the 'noise' and saw a luxury car.... erm scratch that, almost broken car with destroyed windows and doors.

She also saw several dirty ragged clothed people who were almost on par with beggars standing before the gate looking around the place, she sweats drop.

If this were the old times, she will definitely think that they are beggars trying to either rob or beg seeing the state that they were in.

But during this new era, beggars and nobles are all equal.

Even if they were beggars in the old world, who says that they can't change and get rich in the new era, same for what she'll say to those nobles.

She carefully scrutinized those beggars, peh... survivors as they keep on scampering around and talking to each other.

'What do they need?' Hua Meili wondered.

"Are you sure this is the place?"

The red-haired man looked at the man beside him while combing his hair backward.

He leaned on the wrecked car crossing his arms as he talks to the white-haired man who was facing him, making it hard to see his face from where Hua Meili sat.

"Of course, I'm sure of it."

The white-haired man seriously answered, looking almost unbelievably at the red-haired man.

He turned his back on the red-haired man and walked to the blue-haired man, his face was still unrecognizable.

Maybe because of his unruly hair blocking his face from Hua Meili's view.

"Why does it look empty? It's so quiet. Not only the house but almost the entire city is quiet, do you think something is wrong with this city?" The blue-haired man said.

He put his right hand under his chin and thought carefully.

Hua Meili who was listening to their conversation could not help but blabber inside her heart.

Of course, the house is quiet since the two lovebirds were not 'fighting' but were meditating instead and her two butlers were tending the plants and animals in her SD, so she is the only one left there.

And the city? Almost all the Mutants were dead!

"You mean, a ghost city?!" Said a brown-haired man while holding the arms of the other person beside him.

"Sh*t, no way! Is the whole city full of ghosts? Yikes!" The green-haired man who the brown-haired man was holding to exaggeratedly said.

(-.-|||) Dude, we are in the middle of an Apocalypse, not a Horror Movie....

"What ghost city? There is no such thing as a ghost, only zombies."

A blond-haired girl scolded the two for being such a coward. She was crossing her arms as she furrowed her eyebrows towards the brown and green-haired man.

"Stop the useless talks. How could the house be empty?! My meimei is waiting for me at home, she is definitely inside!"

The white-haired man was so angry, at the same time worried. He was truly anxious and stared at the quiet Mansion right in front of him.

Hearing what the white-haired man said, Hua Meili could not help but be surprised a little when she heard what the white-haired man said.

So, she listened more attentively to see if her speculations were right.

'Is he really my brother? Is he the 'Legendary' Jin?'

"Jin, easy my friend. How about we go inside for now and go take a look." The blue-haired man said trying to calm the agitated man in front of him.

He knew just how much importance Jin Hua had placed on finding his sister since he was the first one who was there with him when he struggled from city to city just to reach this place, the place where his sister resides.

"His right, Jin. I'm sure your sister is fine." The blond-haired girl said cheering up the mood.

'I don't like this woman, she somehow reminds me of those harem members.... cheap and a flirt.'

"Should we ring the doorbell?" Said the brown-haired man as he walked alongside the green-haired man toward the doorbell.

"Climb the gate?" Said the green-haired man who was being dragged by the brown-haired man when he saw the walls.

"Maybe, we should climb it. It won't open unless someone from the inside opens the gat-" Jin Hua's words were cut off when the gate slowly opened.

Seeing the comedy playing for so long, Hua Meili finally made Du Hexi exit the SD and told him to open the gates through the security room - where everything could be managed from security cameras to the gates - to open the gates.

"Woah! It opened!"

The red-haired man leisurely walked in like he owns the place, he surveyed the surroundings carefully, though he was walking so leisurely his guard was on full alert.

"Is there really a ghost in here?!"

The brown and green-haired man hug each other while standing right behind Jin Hua.

"Stop your nonsense and get inside!" Jin Hua said as he walked in.

Seeing him brave the danger, the rest also followed.

After they all got in, the gate closed.

As Jin Huawas walked along the path toward the Mansion, he noticed the small changes within the Manor.

"Jin, I never thought you liked roses and plum blossoms that much." The blond-haired woman said.

As if in awe, she touch the roses near the gates but pricked her fingers instead.

The thorns surrounding the roses were extremely sharp and could injure a mere Phase 1 evolutionary human... a weak one at that.

Hua Meili is not discriminating against Phase 1's but she just hates that bitch!

She does not know why there is such enmity within her while looking at that blonde but something in her spiked her hatred.

She remembers someone when looking at her but she can't quite point a finger at it.

"I did not plant these roses and trees... maybe it was my meimei."

Jin Hua was ecstatic when he realized this point and quickly looked around the whole estate to see what other changes occurred when he left but it was only the flowers and trees that changed.

"Where could your meimei be? It's so quiet here that it's giving me chills, it makes one think that not even a single soul is living in this place."

The blue-haired man could not help but comment also mesmerized by the beautiful scenery.

While listening to their nonsense, Hua Meili who was watching them finally had enough of their nonsense and poor detecting skills for not noticing her presence even though she is already at the top of their heads.

She stood up from where she sat and jump down the tree gracefully, plum blossom petals rained down as she was falling, enveloping her like it was trying to protect her as she lands on the ground gracefully.

'Finally, your back.'
