Chapter 38 Wait Don't Tell Me He Is The…?!
Hua Meili sat on the sofa and waited for Du Hexi to finish preparing lunch.
She leaned her head on the arm of the sofa while staring at the ceiling out of boredom as she had nothing better to do, suddenly she remembered something from the novel.
As if electrocuted she jump up from where she sat but immediately sat down again.
If someone were to see her moments ago, they might think that she had gone crazy when she suddenly jumped up with no partial notice and sat back again the next second.
But most of all, they would be amazed at just how high she can jump!
Hua Meili tried to recall a certain memory she had read in the novel and finally remembered that the name of the villain in the novel "Apocalypse Start!" was Jin Hua.
Which is also the same as the name of her brother which is not maybe merely a coincidence.
It could not be Jin, but it could possibly be him.
She remembered that when the Apocalypse started, Jin Hua was stuck on an island because of a business trip.
While he travels from city to city to get back home, he met the group that would be with him in all life-and-death situations.
Finally, after some struggles, they successfully got to the city that Jin Hua was longing to reach.
Jin Hua traveled from afar just to get back home because his sister is waiting for him, just this thought alone gave him the strength to stand up and fight and never lose hope.
But, when he came back, his house was already wrecked and his sister was just a cold corpse lying down along the Mansion's wreckage when he found her dead in her own room.
She was bitten and was then shot by someone.
He loved his sister very much that seeing her cold corpse lying there, a large chunk of flesh missing from her shoulders and a bullet through her head, he found himself cold and almost soulless as he stared at her cold corpse for almost half a day.
Even though he is always busy and not able to even eat together with her even on special occasions, he still watched over her and even gives her presents on her every birthday and even Christmas with him especially picking the presents himself.
He always thought that after he settled everything, he can finally have some time with his sister.
He was still going to spoil her and more, he was still going to bring her to every place she like, eat foods she like, buy the things she like and so much more.
They are still going to spend more time together just as they promised back then.
He thought that he could still see her, smiling at him when he got home, just like how little Hua Meili used to every time he got home from school.
How long had it been since the two of them last saw each other face to face?
How long had it been since he had eaten a meal with her?
How long had it been since he tucked her into her bed and tell her stories until she falls asleep?
How long had it been since.....
Since he had last heard her call him "brother".....
He cried.
Yes, he cried.
No matter how he had already tempered his temperament and emotion, killing many humans and Mutants along the way for him to be able to come back 'home', tears still kept on flowing down his face.
He forged a path of blood along the way just to immediately come home after some time it made him cold and numb.
He experienced many betrayals along the way and many more but he kept his sanity just so he can come back "home" but.... why?
Why is the only person that he wanted to be alive right now lying coldly in his embrace?
Why does it hurt so bad that he wanted to rip out his own heart for it to stop?
Why can't the only person that he cared most about and the only thing that give his heart the fire that had always burned through from day and night go off at this moment?
Why can't his wishes be fulfilled?
Why is the world so cruel in taking his only family member away from him?!
Why can't she be alive?
He grieves for her death but he decided to carry on with a heavy and cold heart, he became unfeeling, cold and could no longer love.
He broke, he was still him, he acts normal, he talks normally, he is normal but only on the outside.
Only if you try to look deeper inside will you be able to see how broken he had become. He was so broken and lonely that he drowned himself to work to at least try and forget his sadness.
He so badly wanted to forget everything.
Just forget…
Forget all the pain, all the blame.
All of her.
Hua Meili who was reading the life story of the villain cried a bucket of tears seeing how broken and lonely the villain was, nothing could fix him in the novel.
Even though he is surrounded by many people who treat him as a friend, he still refuses to break out of his shell.
Maybe because he was afraid. Afraid that if he were to once again hold something within the palm of his hand and it broke, he might go crazy from the pain.
So he closed himself in a shell, a shell to protect him from all the pain.
And then in the later part of the story, he met the protagonist whose only job is to mess everything up and get him in trouble at all times.
Because of the stupid protagonist, he lost some of his loyal subordinates and was still losing some because of the stupid protagonist's antics.
He was quite livid at this stupid protagonist's antics and wanted to kill him each time he saw him since he knew that seeing him was equal to an ominous omen and he was exactly right.
Every time the protagonist shows up, he either lucks out or his subordinates die one after another all because of the protagonist.
That's why he vowed to kill the stupid protagonist but because of the protagonist's halo, the protagonist survives every single f*cking time and was still alive and kicking the very next day to create some new mess again because of his stupidity.
Finally, the protagonist ended up in a mutant's stomach because of his foolishness.
The villain then lived happily ever after because the protagonist is already dead and no more troublemaker.
The villain's base then became one of the strongest strongholds in the Apocalypse after the troublemaker was out.
Even though he was called a villain, he was really not a bad person.
He was called the villain because he was going against the protagonist of the story again and again.
Who would not want to?
Every time the protagonist appeared, his life and his subordinates would be put in peril. And every time he appears, they would be put into deep trouble.
If Hua Meili was the villain, he would do just the same as him.
Worse, she would beat the protagonist till he looked like a pig and then toss him to a group of Mutants to be shredded or turned into meat paste!
If only she could choose who she wanted to be the protagonist, she will definitely choose the villain, loud and clear.
And also, she read some hehehe... parts that she won't reveal to you now but later about the.... Secret!!!
"So that's why his name sounded so familiar, it was because he was the main villain in the novel."
Hua Meili slaps the armrest as she finally put the pieces together.
She really felt that the names that she had been hearing since the first time she transmigrated were rather familiar, it was because of this!
That d*mned book just vanished mysteriously one day and never appeared after that one time it came out.
"Miss Meili, lunch is already ready." Mu Hexin said snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Alright, please call the others."
Hua Meili walked to the dining hall and sat at the Host seat.
Well, the Host seat is exactly two because there are two seats at the front side by side because of the width of the rectangular table that could fit two people without being close to each other.
She made the table for fun when she found a rather good wood in the supermarket.
On a rather not-so-far-away place, a small but cute little figure could not help but shiver sensing some evil entity talking behind its back.
